In peak battles, there was an unspoken rule among the great sects: the ancestral masters of the sects were not allowed to take action. The reason why Chixiao Sect was considered the weakest among the Six Great Sects was that it lacked a powerhouse of the Semi Venerable Venerable Realm.
The Sect Master of Chixiao Sect was a Venerable Realm powerhouse; in other sects, those who reached the Semi Venerable Realm or even the Innate Peak Realm could be considered ancestral masters, but in the Six Great Sects, only those in the Venerable Realm could claim that title. This was the etiquette among Martial Artists before a sparring match. Yan Hu had not introduced himself upon entering the stage due to Jiang Minglong’s injury which provoked his fury - however, when Martial Artists introduced themselves, they usually prefixed their introduction with the na of their sect, sothing Lin Tianya notably did not do.
"Jiang Family of Jincheng, Head Protector Yan Hu!" Yan Hu returned the salute with a fist, and although they were now enemies, since the other party had observed the etiquette, he could not afford to lose the Jiang Family’s face.

Yan Hu was briefly taken aback, looked at Jiang Chen, who nodded slightly.
"Yes!" Yan Hu imdiately understood and nodded in response.
