"Xiaofei, you're here! Co on over, I've already arranged a clinic room for you. Co take a look, are you satisfied?"
Unexpectedly, so early in the morning, Liu Changshan and Principal Zhou were already waiting for him in the cardiology departnt. The scene imdiately startled Liu Zhichuang, who was following behind, making him feel fortunate for his clever and tily intervention.
Principal Zhou eagerly grabbed Chen Fei's hand upon arrival, leading him to a clinic room within the cardiology departnt. It was well-furnished, clean, and everything was brand new, clearly having been prepared in the last couple of days. There were also many items specific to traditional Chinese dicine, such as silver needles and cupping jars.
"Principal Zhou, you've really gone to great lengths. There was no need for all this." Witnessing the scene, Chen Fei couldn't help but feel moved.
Even though he previously had a poor impression of the old man, it was undeniable that this single gesture had gone a long way in improving it.
"It's nothing extravagant. Having you, Xiaofei, join our hospital is worth far more than a few rooms. Besides, our departnt is spacious enough to accommodate it, haha," Liu Changshan chuckled from the side, clearly having played a role in the arrangents.
"Doctor Chen, everything else is ready, but... what about the resu?" At that mont, Principal Zhou suddenly asked in a low voice.
Normally, a promotional poster would be hung outside the clinic of every qualified chief or associate chief physician. These posters showcased their achievents, such as awards received, graduation from prominent dostic or international dical universities, their status as doctoral advisors, or being the favored student of a renowned national master.
For example, the resu hanging outside Liu Changshan's clinic read: Liu Changshan, Male, Chief Physician. Born in 1973. Graduated from McGill University, Canada, with a Ph.D. Winner of the Canadian rcier dical Prize. Nad one of the Top Ten Honorary Cardiovascular Experts in North Arica. With nearly twenty years of experience in clinical surgery, he has treated many provincial leaders.
It was evident that the long list of awards and honorary titles was more than enough to highlight Liu Changshan's impressive capabilities and his authority in the field of cardiology within Jiangnan Province and even across the country.
But when it ca to Chen Fei's profile, Principal Zhou was stumped. How could he possibly word it appropriately?
"That's simple."
However, Chen Fei didn't treat it as a big deal. He casually found a small slip of paper, scribbled on it, and handed it to Liu Changshan with a smile. "Just write this."
The note read: Chen Fei, Male. Born in 1989. Has studied traditional Chinese dicine under various masters since a young age. Excels in treating all kinds of complex and difficult illnesses.
"Um, about this... Doctor Chen, perhaps we should revise the introduction a bit..." Principal Zhou peeked over, and his face imdiately fell. The biography was far too modest. He couldn't imagine any patient—unless they were out of their mind—willing to see a young doctor who lacked diplomas, titles, and a prestigious lineage.
But he knew what Chen Fei was capable of. Wouldn't this be a waste?
"Let's leave it as it is. I'm so young that if you try to put a few fancy hats on , no one will believe it anyway. Just let know whenever the hospital needs , and I'll do my best," Chen Fei said with a laugh, waving his hand to dispel their concerns.
"Well, Principal, let's leave it at that for now." Seeing his attitude, Liu Changshan understood that it was best not to insist. While giving Chen Fei a aningful look, he led him into the clinic and began to explain the hospital's outpatient procedures.
Afterward, they officially began their workday.
Chen Fei sat alone in the clinic, his heart originally filled with the grand ambition to practice dicine for the good of all and save the world. Reality, however, left him speechless.
Just as Principal Zhou had feared, long queues ford outside the clinics of other specialists, but his doorway remained completely empty. The few patients who were randomly assigned to him would co over, give him an odd look without even stepping inside, and then turn around and leave without a word.
Clearly, Chen Fei's youthful appearance failed to inspire trust in the patients.
So people even shook their heads in exaggeration after leaving his clinic and glancing at the introductory chart on the wall. It left Chen Fei at a loss, not knowing whether to laugh or cry, and he even started to feel a bit embarrassed himself.
He had been sitting in the clinic for the better part of the day without seeing a single patient. It made him feel a little guilty about his salary. After all, an annual salary of three hundred thousand was not to be taken lightly.
Just then, two people finally walked into his clinic. He looked up and saw a familiar face—Huang Feng.
"Doctor Chen, hello." It was clear that Huang Feng's attitude toward Chen Fei was much more respectful now—not just a little, but a lot.
Others might not know what Chen Fei was capable of, but Huang Feng was now crystal clear on the matter.
Putting aside the superstitious talk of supernatural forces that Huang Tao had ntioned, the re fact that Chen Fei had healed his father in just a few days—from a fractured ischium and sciatic nerve damage, no less—was not sothing an ordinary person could do. It filled him with a deep sense of reverence. What's more, Chen Fei had helped his father secure a massive foreign investnt, which was a trendous favor. This made Huang Feng feel he absolutely could not afford to offend the man; the thought alone sent an inexplicable chill down his spine.
Seeing the son of the esteed Deputy Mayor Huang Tao speaking to a young doctor with such humility, the man standing beside Huang Feng was completely dumbfounded. He quickly lowered his head, his heart pounding and his limbs turning cold.
He had just been promoted today. Although he had been briefed beforehand to be ntally prepared, he never expected Chen Fei's influence to be so formidable. Even the son of the executive deputy mayor was speaking with such cautious humility, terrified of causing any offense. It was simply... unbelievable.
But how could he know that if Deputy Mayor Huang himself were here, he would likely adopt the sa careful attitude, not daring to take any risks? In the Deputy Mayor's mind, Chen Fei could no longer be considered an ordinary person, and that was a frightening thought.
"And you are?" Chen Fei asked, looking at the man with curiosity.
Huang Feng was about to make an introduction, but the man preempted him. "Hello, Doctor Chen. My na is Qian Xiangrong. I'm the new secretary just promoted by Deputy Mayor Huang. You can just call Little Qian."
"Oh, Deputy Mayor Huang's secretary. It's a pleasure to et you." Chen Fei nodded to him in acknowledgnt, then turned to Huang Feng. "Young Master Feng, you're here for your stomach problem, aren't you?" He suddenly recalled that Huang Feng had ntioned a few days ago that he wanted to co see him about his stomach ailnt.
"Doctor Chen, please don't call Young Master Feng!" Huang Feng said in alarm. "If my dad finds out, he'll definitely thrash . Just call Xiaofeng; I'm probably younger than you anyway. Doctor Chen, I think my condition has gotten worse. It flared up just two days ago, and the pain was excruciating."
"Is that so? Co here, let take a look," Chen Fei said, his brow furrowing slightly. He gestured for Huang Feng to sit down so he could take his pulse.
