Neither the crowd on the scene nor even Saint Magus lsdom himself could have anticipated this. Prince Schumacher, who just a second ago had expressed such righteous indignation and indicated he would stand by lsdom, suddenly betrayed him. At a mont when everyone was still imrsed in the awe-inspiring power of the Holy Artifact, he launched a treacherous surprise attack! It was truly unbelievable.
"Fla Dragon Magic, Fla Dragon Spear!"
In his shock and fury, Saint Magus lsdom finally reacted. He rapidly muttered a spell, and his energy surged instantly. A massive ancient draconic Hexagram Magic Formation appeared out of thin air. A gigantic Fla Dragon Spear, bathed in a terrifying dragon's aura, shot out from the formation and pressed down ferociously on Prince Schumacher, who was only an arm's length away.
"Damn it!"
Seeing this, Prince Schumacher's expression turned ugly. With a violent flap of the demonic wings on his back, his figure shot out like a streak of blood-red lightning and vanished from the spot.
Unlike ordinary Fire Elent Mages, Saint Magus lsdom was an inheritor of ancient Fla Dragon Magic. His power was far stronger than that of his peers, so even though Schumacher was wielding his family's Holy Artifact, he was still reluctant to clash with the spell head-on.
RUMBLE...
The Fla Dragon Spear roared through the space where Prince Schumacher had been a second ago. Like a teor, it continued in a straight line and crashed into one of the hall's pillars behind him, setting off a deafening explosion. A scorching heatwave and shockwave spread out in all directions, shaking the entire hall. But by then, Prince Schumacher had already escaped the area and reappeared in the distance.
With those demonic wings, his speed was simply too great. In the blink of an eye, he had already appeared at least ten ters away, right beside the Wenn Family Brothers. He raised the blood spear in his hand to block the residual energy from the Fla Dragon Magic. With a hiss, the magic evaporated, sending up a great cloud of blood-red smoke that dispersed into rings.
"It failed. You really are a cautious one." After the blood smoke cleared, Wenn Yongshou squinted and stared coldly at lsdom's chest. Prince Schumacher did the sa, his expression grim as he eyed lsdom's torso.
Amidst the tattered robes, a piece of crimson leather armor worn close to the skin was revealed. Its surface was densely covered with overlapping scales, and it emanated an intimidating dragon's aura. However, there was a deep indentation on the armor, though it seed the fearso tip of the blood spear had failed to pierce it.
"A Mid-Grade Holy Artifact, the Fla Dragon Armor!" Prince Schumacher's blood-red eyes glittered with a cold glint as he murmured to himself. It seems I guessed right, you really do wear this treasure at all tis. I just didn't expect its defensive power to be so strong.
He knew Saint Magus lsdom was an inheritor of ancient Fla Dragon Magic and had obtained this treasure, once renowned in its era, from the ruins of that legacy. However, he had never anticipated the Fla Dragon Armor's defenses would be so formidable that even his full-powered strike failed to break through, only inflicting a minor injury.
"Good. Very good! To think you were all in this together... It seems my earlier concerns have co to pass. Prince Schumacher, your reason for gathering us here wasn't as simple as you claid, was it? You're scheming against us?" An unnatural flush surfaced on lsdom's cheeks. He pressed a hand to his chest and slowly pushed himself to his feet, staring at his opponent as he bit out each word with fiery indignation.
Instantly, the expressions of many onlookers changed. This was especially true for those who had retreated to a safe distance, choosing not to get involved; their faces now showed deep hesitation and gloom, their complexions shifting repeatedly. If what lsdom said was true, and this whole affair was a plot by Prince Schumacher, then they were in terrible danger.
"Everyone, please be at ease," Prince Schumacher spoke up, his gaze sweeping over the crowd. His tone was placid, as if he truly did have a personal grudge against lsdom that prompted the surprise attack. "My reason for attacking this man is a private matter between us... It has nothing to do with any of you. There is no need to worry."
"Prince Schumacher, let's get back to business," Wenn Tianxiong sneered coldly, casually drawing his weapon. It was a black blade, just long enough to be held in one hand. Its edge glinted with a ghastly light that sent a shiver down the spine. "With so many of us here and him seriously injured, I'd like to see how he musters the strength to slip through our grasp!"
"Hehe..." Wenn Yongshou laughed with a cold, undisguised malice. Terrifying fluctuations of Spiritual Energy surged from his body, accompanied by a chilling, murderous intent. Clutching the Low Grade Magic Artifact Black Ruler, he advanced on lsdom step by step, his posture like that of a wild beast ready to pounce and kill at any mont.
The faces of those present paled further, their expressions cycling between shock and dread. Many of them glanced toward the entrance of the palace hall. In the very instant that Prince Schumacher had launched his treacherous attack on Saint Magus lsdom, the three peak Grand Dukes of the Brad Family had silently assud their strongest combat stances, guarding the exit. Otherwise, the onlookers would have already tried to leave, as they were no fools. How could they believe Schumacher's words, which were so obviously ant to deceive idiots?
"Everyone, surely you aren't naive enough to believe such a transparent lie?" At that mont, a chilling voice cut in abruptly. It was Mardo, his expression grim. "Although I don't know why Schumacher would turn on Saint Magus lsdom, I have an ominous premonition that we are also among his targets! So, let's join forces! It might be our only chance to survive. If we wait for them to pick us off one by one, we're finished!"
As he spoke, an extrely oppressive dark power seeped out from him, enveloping his body in a blinding, dark aura. Instantly, the expressions on many faces changed once again. They weren't foolish, nor were they that naive. Soon after, many of them drew their own weapons, and the atmosphere beca intensely strained.
"Mardo, are you trying to oppose us?" Seeing this, Prince Schumacher's cold eyes twitched. He turned his head toward Mardo, a ferocious grin spreading across his face as he spoke in a frigid voice. A re ss Ultimate, daring to cause trouble in front of three sss Peak existences?
"Why waste so many words on them? It's just a bunch of nobodies and one ss Ultimate. Let the three peak Grand Dukes of your family deal with them; they'll be more than enough. We should kill this old bastard lsdom first!" Wenn Tianxiong was already growing impatient. After his cold declaration, he swung the black blade in his hand fiercely forward. A whirlwind-like blast of True Qi erupted, hurtling toward its target.
"That's right. Why bother with those little ants? Let's just kill lsdom now," Wenn Yongshou added, his expression cold and vicious. His Spiritual Energy flared as he gripped his Black Ruler and charged violently toward lsdom, who paled dramatically and scrambled to dodge and flee.
"Trying to run? Ha! Where do you think you are? I'll make sure you can't fly away even if you sprout wings! HA HA, HAHAHA..."
Wenn Yongshou's cold, arrogant laughter echoed throughout the grand palace hall, causing Schumacher to frown. But he seed to agree with the Wenn Family Brothers. He turned his head and addressed the family elders guarding the main entrance.
"These people are yours to handle. Kill who you can, and if you can't, just keep them busy. Once we've killed lsdom and are free, none of this trash will escape!"
He finally dropped all pretense, no longer hiding his conspiracies and murderous intent. After giving Mardo a frigid glare, a blood-red glow nearly ten inches high erupted from his body. With a flap of his savage, demonic wings, he was engulfed in the bloody light, and his aura soared to a terrifying new level.
WHOOSH!
His figure shot forward like a stream of blood-red light, charging toward the desperately fleeing lsdom. In that instant, everyone could see the mocking sneer on his face, like a cat toying with a mouse.
He, Wenn Tianxiong, and Wenn Yongshou were all practically at the sss Peak. Even lsdom, who was near the level of a Peak Holy Magister, stood no chance of escape.
At the sa ti, the three peak Grand Duke elders of the Brad Family closed in on Mardo and the others. They split into two groups: the strongest of them confronted Mardo, while the other two moved to tie up the rest.
"I am at your service, Your Highness, the great Prince Schumacher," the most powerful of the three peak Grand Dukes said with a mocking sneer. His demonic wings unfurled behind him, and within a few breaths, he appeared before Mardo with an imposing aura. "Mardo, it has been a long ti... Heh. I wonder if you are still worthy of being my opponent?"
As he spoke, a terrifying, suffocating aura flowed from his body, shrouding him like bloody moonlight. Its power was palpable to everyone present.
"Kane, it seems you are about to step into that next level as well?" Sensing the aura, Mardo's expression remained impassive, but his pupils visibly contracted as if in shock.
The peak Grand Duke, Kane, responded with arrogance. "So? Will you give up without a fight, or must I end you myself?" He was indeed infinitely close to that next realm, the realm of a Blood Clan Prince. That was why he now possessed the confidence to look down upon an opponent as formidable as Mardo.
