"Divine Doctor Ye!"
Ye Xiu, Qin Qing, and Kuroki Suzu had just reached the entrance of the exhibition hall when Su Rui hurried after them. Seeing that Ye Xiu had put his mask back on, Su Rui thoughtfully turned to the reporters following them.
"Everyone, Divine Doctor Ye doesn’t wish to reveal his identity. Please be understanding."
Hearing this, the reporters stopped in their tracks and kept their distance. They had already guessed Ye Xiu’s intentions when they saw him put the mask back on; they were just too eager for an interview.
Seeing the reporters had stopped, Su Rui quickened his pace to walk alongside Ye Xiu. "Divine Doctor Ye," he said with an embarrassed apology, "my sister has been spoiled by my parents since she was young. She’s willful, petulant, and oblivious to the broader situation. I apologize to you on her behalf."
"There’s no need to apologize, Young Master Su. I won’t stoop to her level," Ye Xiu said calmly.
"You are magnanimous, Divine Doctor Ye, but my sister did upset you. How about this? Please, pick any item you like from the three exhibition halls. Consider it my apology on my sister’s behalf," Su Rui said with a smile, relieved to see that Ye Xiu genuinely wasn’t angry.
Ye Xiu glanced at Su Rui. This guy is smooth. He’s using an apology for Su Muqing as an opportunity to give a gift and build a connection. As expected of one of the famous Four Young Masters of Jin Ye City. He has high emotional intelligence and is skilled at managing relationships. A real talent!
"Since you’ve offered, Young Master Su, I won’t be polite!" Ye Xiu didn’t refuse.
Su Rui was overjoyed. Ye Xiu accepting the gift ant he had forgiven Su Muqing and accepted the olive branch he’d extended. If he carefully nurtured this connection, he and Ye Xiu could definitely beco friends.
He said, "Then I won’t disturb you while you appreciate the exhibits. Just let know once you’ve made a selection."
"You’re too kind, Young Master Su. Go on, attend to your business," Ye Xiu replied.
The collectibles exhibition spanned three halls, showcasing a vast array of treasures. The collection included antiques, calligraphy and paintings, jewelry, sculptures, and fine wines, with each exhibit being priceless.
Ye Xiu led Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu into Hall 1.
As they were admiring the exhibits, Qin Qing suddenly said, "Su Muqing is heading this way."
Ye Xiu turned to see Su Muqing jogging toward them. She stopped in front of him, looking like a child who had done sothing wrong. With her head lowered and lips pursed, she said sheepishly, "Brother Ye, I’m sorry. I was being immature earlier. Uhm, you can scold a bit to let off so steam if you want."
At this, Ye Xiu and Qin Qing exchanged a look. They had expected her to cause more trouble, but she had co to apologize.
"I didn’t take it to heart," Ye Xiu said. "You don’t need to worry about it."
"Really?" Su Muqing put on a playful, cheerful act. "I was so awful to you, and you’re not even mad. Brother Ye, you’re such a good person."
"You’d best not call Brother Ye. As far as I know, we’re the sa age, and your birthday is a month before mine. It isn’t appropriate for you to call your older brother."
Ye Xiu was speechless. A 26-year-old woman, still so willful and petulant, constantly trying to act cute and young... It’s just unbelievable...
"Alright then!" Su Muqing pouted. "Well, you guys have fun. I won’t disturb you anymore."
With that, she turned and left.
Ye Xiu and the others continued to admire the exhibits.
A short while later, Mutou Bingyuan approached them with a broad smile. "Divine Doctor Ye, do you have ti to chat with privately?"
Ye Xiu was taken aback. "About what?"
Mutou Bingyuan simply smiled without a word, gesturing for Ye Xiu to send Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu away.
Ye Xiu understood. He said to Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu, "You two go look around for a bit. I’m going to have a chat with Young Master Luo."
"Okay!" Qin Qing nodded and led Kuroki Suzu into Hall 2.
As she was admiring the exhibits, Su Muqing ca over and said sweetly, "Sister Qin..."
"Don’t call sister. I’m a year younger than you," Qin Qing interrupted.
Su Muqing was montarily speechless, secretly fuming. She was convinced Ye Xiu and Qin Qing were deliberately mocking her age.
On the surface, however, she maintained her sweet tone. "Qin Qing, does Ye Xiu really not hold a grudge against ?"
"No," Qin Qing replied, shaking her head, trying to figure out Su Muqing’s motive for striking up a conversation.
"I feel so terrible for giving Ye Xiu such a hard ti in front of all those reporters!" Su Muqing said, feigning remorse. "Even if he doesn’t hold it against , I can’t get over it myself. How about this? I’ll give him sothing as a proper apology. Co with !"
Without waiting for Qin Qing’s consent, she grabbed her hand and pulled her into Hall 3.
At that mont, the only person in Hall 3 was a security guard. There were no other guests.
Su Muqing pulled Qin Qing over to a display case. "Qin Qing, look. My father bought this necklace for at an auction on Fusheng Island five years ago. It cost 5 million. Do you like it?"
Qin Qing glanced at the necklace. It was exquisitely designed with a vintage feel, set with countless tiny diamonds and a pink diamond as large as a fingernail. What girl wouldn’t love such a treasure?
Qin Qing liked it very much. She said, "This necklace is far too valuable, and it was a gift to you from your father. I can’t accept it."
"As long as you like it!" Su Muqing entered the code to open the glass case, took out the necklace, and pressed it into Qin Qing’s hand. "I have plenty of necklaces like this at ho. This one is a gift for Ye Xiu, and then he can give it to you. Isn’t that romantic?"
"No, I can’t take it! It’s too precious!" Qin Qing refused, trying to hand the necklace back.
"I never take back a gift!" Su Muqing declared before turning and running out of Hall 3.
Qin Qing stared after her, speechless. Even though Su Rui had told Ye Xiu to pick any item he wanted, he couldn’t choose sothing this valuable. It would make Su Rui think Ye Xiu was greedy.
She had to return it to Su Muqing.
"Hey, you! What do you think you’re doing, stealing that?"
Just as Qin Qing was about to take Kuroki Suzu to find Su Muqing, the lone security guard in Hall 3 suddenly started shouting.
"Help! Soone is stealing!"
Qin Qing and Kuroki Suzu were both utterly baffled.
anwhile, Ye Xiu saw Mutou Bingyuan admiring the exhibits and asked, "Didn’t you have sothing to discuss with ?"
"It’s a bit... difficult to bring up!" Mutou Bingyuan said, feigning embarrassnt while silently calculating the ti. Su Muqing should have succeeded by now, right?
"If it’s that difficult, then don’t say it," Ye Xiu said and turned to look for Qin Qing.
Mutou Bingyuan grew anxious and was about to stop him when a loud shout echoed through the hall.
"Help! Soone is stealing!"
Mutou Bingyuan breathed a sigh of relief. That pig of a teammate, Su Muqing, is actually sowhat reliable!
But Ye Xiu’s expression changed the mont he heard the shout.
This is bad! It’s a trap! I’ve been set up by Mutou Bingyuan and Su Muqing!
He imdiately dashed toward Hall 2.
