Peng Fei’s scalp tingled. Seeing the chair hanging over his head, he quickly took out his phone. "I’ll call, I’ll call."
He then dialed ng Shaoxiong’s number. "Boss ng, I got beaten up! The guy who hit is incredibly arrogant. He even told to call you... What? You want him to take the call? Okay!"
He then handed the phone to Ye Xiu. "Kid, Boss ng wants to talk to you. You dared to provoke him directly, so you’re finished!"
Ye Xiu took the phone and said just two words.
"It’s ."
Then, he handed the phone back to Peng Fei.
This left Ming Yue, Peng Fei, and everyone else at the scene baffled and in awe. They couldn’t understand what Ye Xiu ant by "It’s ."
Peng Fei suspiciously took the phone back, only to hear ng Shaoxiong roaring on the other end, "Peng Fei, you damn bastard, how dare you ss with my boss! Apologize to him imdiately. If he doesn’t forgive you, I’ll skin you alive."
Peng Fei’s mind went blank. ng Shaoxiong’s boss? Doesn’t that make him my Big Boss? Fuck! I actually harassed the Big Boss’s woman!
Once he realized what was happening, he imdiately knelt before Ye Xiu, shouting for rcy. "Big Boss, spare my life! Please, you must forgive . If you spare , I’m willing to be your dog..."
He then crawled over to Ming Yue, begging, "Ma’am, I was wrong. Please ask the Big Boss to spare . I’ll never dare to do it again."
Peng Fei knew just how ruthless ng Shaoxiong was. If Ye Xiu didn’t forgive him, ng Shaoxiong would genuinely skin him alive.
The onlookers were taken aback by Peng Fei’s reaction. Wasn’t he supposed to be calling ng Shaoxiong to threaten Ye Xiu? Why was he suddenly on his knees, begging for rcy? The crowd felt let down; this was not the drama they had been hoping for.
But the crowd wasn’t stupid. It was obvious Ye Xiu was a bigshot, soone even ng Shaoxiong couldn’t afford to offend.
"What’s your relationship with ng Shaoxiong?" Ming Yue asked in shock.
She had seen and heard everything clearly. When Ye Xiu said, "It’s ," his tone had been perfectly calm, without any pleasantries or even a self-introduction. That definitely wasn’t how friends talked; it was more like a superior addressing a subordinate. Furthermore, Peng Fei had suddenly started calling Ye Xiu "Big Boss." Does that an Ye Xiu is ng Shaoxiong’s boss?
"If I told ng Shaoxiong to die, he wouldn’t dare hesitate for more than a second," Ye Xiu whispered to Ming Yue.
Hearing this, Ming Yue’s heart instantly went cold. Ye Xiu could control ng Shaoxiong’s life and death. Does that an if Ye Xiu ordered ng Shaoxiong to kill the Ming family, he wouldn’t refuse?
"Get up. Tell soone to bring our food out quickly," Ye Xiu said, helping Peng Fei to his feet. Since he was one of ng Shaoxiong’s n, there was no need to bully him anymore.
"Yes, yes, yes!" Seeing that Ye Xiu had forgiven him, Peng Fei was overjoyed. He hurriedly shouted at a waiter, "Are your ears stuffed with donkey hair? Hurry up and prepare a al for the Big Boss! Bring out all of our restaurant’s signature dishes, every single one!"
"Yes, yes, yes..." the waiter stamred, scrambling toward the kitchen.
Peng Fei rushed over to Ye Xiu’s side. "Big Boss, what would you like to drink?" he asked with the utmost respect. "We don’t have any fine liquor here, but just say the word and I’ll go buy it for you." This was a perfect opportunity to suck up, and Peng Fei knew exactly what to do.
"A cold beer is fine," Ye Xiu said. "You don’t have to wait on . Go on about your business."
"Yes, yes, yes!" Peng Fei hastily made himself scarce.
After he left, the barbecue restaurant fell deathly silent. The other diners all snuck glances at Ye Xiu and Ming Yue’s table, but no one dared to speak. This made it awkward for the two of them to talk, as anything louder than a whisper would be overheard. Of course, Ming Yue wasn’t in the mood to talk anyway.
Soon, the waiters began bringing over skewers and other dishes. Ye Xiu ate his barbecue and drank his cold beer, feeling exceptionally satisfied. Ming Yue, however, had no appetite.
After they finished eating, Ming Yue said with feigned apology, "Brother Ye, I have sothing to do this afternoon, so I can’t keep you company." She had to get back and discuss with her family how to eliminate Ye Xiu. They couldn’t wait any longer.
"Alright. Go pay the bill, then you can leave," Ye Xiu said.
Ming Yue stared at him, bewildered. Making a woman pay? Are you even a man?
At that mont, Peng Fei scurried over, bowing and scraping. "Big Boss, this al is on . You don’t have to pay."
Ye Xiu waved his hand. "That won’t do. You’re running a business, not a charity. I didn’t co here to freeload."
"Hehe, since the Big Boss says so, I won’t insist. Next ti, I’ll pick a better place to treat you," Peng Fei said with a fawning smile.
"Good," Ye Xiu nodded, then said to Ming Yue, "Go pay the bill."
"Oh!"
After paying, the two of them left the barbecue restaurant. Once Ming Yue had driven off, Ye Xiu waited by the roadside for a taxi, ready to go ho. There really isn’t anywhere else to go.
Just then, a pink convertible sped toward him.
"Xiaowen, quick, look! A handso guy," the woman driving said excitedly, pointing at Ye Xiu.
The girl in the passenger seat, called Xiaowen, looked over, her eyes lighting up. "It’s been so long since I’ve seen a real catch like that. We have to get him. We absolutely have to."
"Let’s go!"
The driver hit the gas, and the convertible screeched to a stop in front of Ye Xiu. "Handso, where are you headed? I’ll give you a ride!"
Ye Xiu was montarily stunned. "Are you talking to ?"
"Wow, his voice is so nice! I think I’m swooning," Xiaowen said from the passenger seat, looking completely smitten.
Ye Xiu was speechless. My god... did I just run into a couple of female thugs?
"Hi, handso. My na is Yun Lan, and this is my best friend, Zhu Xiaowen. Can we be friends?" Yun Lan asked, getting straight to the point. She was more direct than most n trying to pick up won.
"We don’t know each other. What do you want with ?" Ye Xiu asked shyly.
"Oh, I can’t take it! You’re so cute when you’re shy! I have to get your number," Zhu Xiaowen chirped, getting out of the car. She linked her arm with Ye Xiu’s, acting coy as she pulled out her phone.
"Hey, Zhu Xiaowen, can’t you be a little more reserved?" Yun Lan chided as she got out of the car. "Don’t scare the handso guy away. What if he mistakes us for thugs?" Though she said it reproachfully, it sounded more like playful banter.
"We are thugs," Zhu Xiaowen shrugged, then turned to Ye Xiu. "Handso, you look like you’re unemployed, right? How about this..."
"What makes you think I’m unemployed?" Ye Xiu interrupted.
"Any fool could tell, okay?" Zhu Xiaowen explained. "It’s nearly two-thirty in the afternoon. You’re waiting by the road for a ride, so you’d already be late for any job. And from the look of it, you’re not in any hurry, so you’re obviously not waiting for a ride to work. Plus, look at your clothes. They’re so casual. That’s not what soone wears to work."
