Sixteen machine guns opened fire almost simultaneously.
The sixteen-man formation was ticulously structured: four lying prone in the front, four crouching behind them, another four in a half-crouch further back, and the last four standing at the rear. The machine guns all targeted different positions, their combined fire covering the entire interior of the elevator. There was nowhere for anyone inside to hide from the bullets.
This was the weakness of a War God. Once trapped in a confined space and subjected to a barrage of machine-gun fire, even a War God would be riddled with holes. After all, despite their imnse strength, they were still flesh and blood.
However, despite the intense, concentrated fire from such a formation, the sixteen n couldn’t find Ye Xiu’s figure the mont they opened fire. That’s right. The sixteen n unleashed their fusillade, but all their bullets hit nothing. Ye Xiu had mysteriously vanished from inside the elevator!
"Where is he?" a Gunner asked, cautiously moving into the elevator. He looked up and was stunned.
In the top of the elevator was a circular hole, one ter in diater.
"Strange, when did a hole get there?" the Gunner asked. The other Gunners crowded in to look up, all of them bewildered. They had ridden this elevator before but had never paid attention to the ceiling.
"I cut it," a mocking voice declared from above.
In the next mont, the Gunners inside saw a figure drop down headfirst. A sword flashed several tis, and they all lost consciousness. The Gunners outside witnessed the scene and frantically raised their guns to shoot, but it was already too late.
Having dropped from the ceiling, Ye Xiu kicked off hard from the elevator floor, shooting out like an arrow from a bow. The Dragon Sparrow Sword beca a flash of deadly cold light, and in an instant, all the Gunners outside lay dead.
Ye Xiu landed gracefully, a wave of lingering fear washing over him. That was too close! It almost scared to death! Even my body couldn’t have withstood so many bullets. Thank goodness the Dragon Sparrow Sword is so sharp. At the critical mont, I jumped up, carved a hole, and got on top of the elevator to escape the barrage.
Pulling himself together, Ye Xiu entered the fifth-level underground laboratory, sword in hand. The mont he stepped inside, a pungent mixture of formaldehyde and disinfectant assaulted his nostrils. The sight that followed left him utterly shocked.
"Who are you?" a person in a white lab coat and mask asked as they approached.
"Is this a live human experintation laboratory?" Ye Xiu asked coldly, pointing his sword at the person.
The man’s face changed dramatically. "Who are you? Do you realize where you are? This is the Shen Family’s laboratory! Do you have a death wish?"
SWISH!
Ye Xiu’s sword flashed, severing the man’s right arm. "Answer my question."
"Ah...!" the man scread in agony, hastily replying through his terror, "Yes, yes, yes, this is a live human experintation laboratory."
"Where do all these human test subjects and infants co from?" Ye Xiu demanded.
"The Shen Family controls several human trafficking organizations. These test subjects are all brought in by the traffickers..."
Before he could finish, the Dragon Sparrow Sword pierced his heart.
"You bunch of scum!" A towering rage assaulted Ye Xiu’s nerves and sanity, his eyes gradually turning red.
The Shen Family is despicable; they deserve to die! And these researchers in the laboratory deserve death just as much! Every single test subject here might represent a shattered family. Especially the infants and young children... I can’t even imagine the crushing despair their parents must be feeling right now.
Of course, Ye Xiu could empathize with how the test subjects felt. After all, he had experienced it himself.

In his study, Shen Songshan roared in fury at the surveillance footage on his computer screen, which displayed the very scene of Ye Xiu’s massacre.

"What’s the matter, calling in the middle of the night?" the Dragon Lord asked.
"Three things," Shen Songshan said gravely. "First, the Lian family has been destroyed. Qingfeng Road, and indeed the entire Qi Yun Dao, is about to face a major reshuffle.
"Second, the laboratory has been destroyed..."
At this, the Dragon Lord exclaid, "The laboratory was destroyed? Who did it?"
"A young man with the strength of a Great Grandmaster, but I don’t know his na or background," Shen Songshan replied.
The Dragon Lord grew furious. "What is wrong with your Shen Family? You let a re Great Grandmaster breach the laboratory’s defenses?"
Shen Songshan explained, "During the battle between the Shen and Lian families, a masked woman in black appeared whose power surpassed that of a War God. The man who destroyed the laboratory lured that woman to its location, tying up Shen Qilin and all of our War Gods and Great Grandmasters..."
"Send the surveillance footage of the youth and the masked woman in black," the Dragon Lord commanded. "I’ll help you identify them."
"Alright!"
Shen Songshan quickly took screenshots from the surveillance footage, ready to send them.
Just then, the computer screen went black, replaced by a blood-red skull. A rough yet flirtatious man’s voice echoed from the speakers, "Hey there, handso. Looking for a good ti? 300 a session, 1,000 for the whole night."
Shen Songshan’s face paled. Had his computer been hacked?
