Atop Mandarin Duck Mountain on Green Leaf Island stood the Guanyin Temple. At this very mont, a sniper was lying prone on the temple’s pagoda.
He wasn’t wearing a black mask or dressed in black as one might expect. Instead, he looked just like an ordinary tourist.
How is this possible? With a face full of indescribable shock, the sniper, through his scope, had just witnessed Ye Xiu drawing his sword at a speed visible to the naked eye to slash a bullet in mid-air.
Of course, the bullet was moving incredibly fast, but Ye Xiu’s draw and slash were even faster. The sniper hadn’t seen it clearly, nor had he seen the bullet being split in two. But he trusted his own Spear Technique.
Ye Xiu’s group was only about five hundred ters from Green Leaf Island. The sniper’s position was diagonal to them, giving him a clear view of Sister Han, who was otherwise blocked by a large truck. The distance was approximately 1,500 ters. At this range, a headshot would have been easy.
Yet, the shot had failed. Obviously, the bullet had been sliced apart by Ye Xiu’s sword!
Is he a monster?
The sniper was terrified. His sniper rifle was fitted with a silencer, and from 1,500 ters away, it was impossible for Ye Xiu to have heard the shot. He couldn’t have heard the sound! To react after the gun was fired yet intercept the bullet before it arrived... that was sothing no human could achieve. It was nothing short of a miracle!
Ye Xiu’s strength is either above that of a War God, or he possesses so special Innate Ability. I must report this to the team leader as soon as possible.
The sniper quickly disassembled his rifle, packed it into a case, and then walked down from the pagoda as if nothing had happened.
However, just as he erged from the pagoda, a beautiful woman approached him.
"Handso, can I buy you a cup of coffee?" the woman asked with a sweet smile.
A pickup attempt? The sniper eyed the woman up and down. Her looks, figure, and deanor were all top-notch. Under normal circumstances, he would have done anything to take her back for a wild ti. But right now, he was in a rush to report back to his team leader and had no ti to flirt.
"I’m busy right now. Why don’t you give your phone number? I’ll contact you when I’m free," the sniper said, sleazily reaching for the beautiful woman’s face.
"Sure, take out your phone and put it in," the woman said.
"I left in a hurry today and forgot my phone. Just tell the number; I can rember it," the sniper said. The organization had a strict rule: phones were forbidden on missions. This was to prevent the enemy from using the phone’s contacts to track down other mbers in case of capture.
"You should’ve said you didn’t have your phone earlier! You made waste my breath."
The woman raised her hand and slapped the sniper, knocking him unconscious.
Two n imdiately ran over, swiftly stuffed the sniper into a burlap sack, and carried him away.
Just then, the woman took out her phone and sent a text ssage: "Young Master, I have captured the sniper!"
This beautiful woman was none other than Leng Yue.
At that mont, Ye Xiu, An Dongye, and Xia Xue had just gotten into the car. Upon receiving Leng Yue’s text, Ye Xiu breathed a sigh of relief and replied, "Send him to the Ghost Doctor for interrogation."
Leng Yue: "Understood!"
Just then, Xia Xue, who had just settled in, asked with a grim face, "Ye Xiu, what do you plan to do with ?"
Sister Han had been captured and everyone else had been killed, yet Ye Xiu hadn’t dealt with her. This made Xia Xue a little anxious. "You aren’t planning to use as a hostage to threaten the Heavenly Dragon Sect, are you?" she asked.
"I’m not as scheming as you," Ye Xiu said while driving. "Don’t worry. Not only will I not harm you, but I will also personally heal your leg."
Xia Xue was stunned. "I tried to kill you, yet you want to heal ? What are you really after?"
"I want to see just how beautiful Xia Xue, once one of the Eight Absolutes of the Qin Domain, truly was," Ye Xiu replied casually.
So that’s it, Xia Xue thought she understood. Ye Xiu is a lecher, one who has always admired the beauty of the Qin Domain’s Eight Absolutes. But now, I’m neither human nor ghost, having long lost my forr beauty and grace. He’s not killing and is even offering to heal purely because he wants to nurture back to my forr self, then make his move.
"Hmph! I am Shen Tianfang’s wife. I have loved only him my entire life, and I will do nothing to betray him. Even if you heal , even if I regain my forr beauty, I will not sleep with you. You can forget about it," she reminded him in an incredibly firm tone. Inwardly, however, she was filled with anticipation. She, too, longed to return to her forr self. After all, Shen Tianfang had loved the woman she used to be, not the ghastly figure she had beco.
"That might not be up to you," Ye Xiu said, deliberately trying to scare her.
"Hmph!" Xia Xue snorted coldly, adopting a posture of fierce and resolute defiance.
Seeing her expression in the rearview mirror, Ye Xiu couldn’t help but laugh. He didn’t engage with her further, instead focusing on driving straight to the Heavenly Dragon Sect.
The Heavenly Dragon Sect was located in an ancient village on Green Leaf Island.
Although the Heavenly Dragon Sect was an Ancient Martial Sect, its mbers, like the Muran Family, had been farrs for generations. To put it bluntly, they were farrs who knew Martial Arts.
At this mont, the Village Chief and Sect Leader of the Heavenly Dragon Sect, Xia Dehe, stood with all the villagers lined up at the village entrance. A red banner hung from a nearby tree, reading, "Warmly Welco Divine Doctor Ye on His Grand Visit."
It was utterly and hopelessly rustic.
"They’re here, they’re here!" Xia Zhiwei shouted, pointing at the approaching car.
Xia Dehe and all the villagers of the Heavenly Dragon Sect instantly straightened their backs, their expressions turning solemn.
Xia Dehe snapped his fingers.
Suddenly, a cacophony of firecrackers erupted as gongs and drums began to sound.
"Is soone getting married?" Ye Xiu asked as he got out of the car.
"Are you the Xuanse dicine King, Ye Xiu, the Divine Doctor?" Xia Dehe asked tentatively as he hurried over.
Before Ye Xiu could answer, Xia Zhiwei said, "That’s Ye Xiu!"
"Divine Doctor Ye, hello, hello!" Xia Dehe abruptly grabbed Ye Xiu’s hand. "Divine Doctor Ye, I’m the Village Chief... bah, I’m the Sect Leader of the Heavenly Dragon Sect, Xia Dehe. That, um..." He faltered and looked at Xia Zhiwei. "How does that phrase go again?"
Ye Xiu was left speechless.
"’Your grand arrival honors us, and we have failed to greet you from afar. Our sincerest apologies,’" Xia Zhiwei prompted.
"Right, right, right!" Xia Dehe quickly continued. "Divine Doctor Ye, your grand arrival at the Heavenly Dragon Sect... I, Xia Dehe, have failed to greet you from a distance... My apologies, my apologies."
This Sect Leader is a bit uneducated, isn’t he? He can’t even handle basic pleasantries. He’s rustic on a whole new level.
Ye Xiu quickly replied, "Sect Leader Xia, you’re being too polite. You are my senior. It is I who should apologize for being late and making you all wait."
"Hehe, hehe..." Xia Dehe chuckled awkwardly, suddenly at a loss for words. He hastily turned, pulled a piece of paper from his pocket, and glanced at it. When he turned back to speak, he had already forgotten the words again.
Ye Xiu had to struggle to keep from laughing so hard he’d cry. This Sect Leader Xia was truly sothing else.
To spare Xia Dehe any further embarrassnt, he changed the subject. "Sect Leader Xia, is there a wedding in the Heavenly Dragon Sect today?"
"No," Xia Dehe replied guilelessly.
Xia Zhiwei, unable to watch any longer, chid in, "Grandpa prepared all of this to welco you."
Realization dawned on Ye Xiu.
Then, Xia Zhiwei once again witnessed Ye Xiu’s high emotional intelligence and social grace as he went around, shaking hands with the villagers and chatting amiably with each of them, putting everyone at ease.
"Cultured people really are different," Xia Dehe said admiringly.
