"Luo Qianjun?"
Shen Songshan and Shen Wanqiu were startled. They truly hadn’t expected him to show up.
"What are you doing here? The Shen family doesn’t welco you," Shen Wanqiu said indignantly.
Shen Songshan asked with an expressionless face, "You said you snuck into the neighborhood. Why didn’t you use the main entrance?"
"If Ye Xiu has people monitoring the Shen family around the clock, I would’ve been spotted if I had used the main entrance," Luo Qianjun said with a smile.
His words left Shen Songshan and Shen Wanqiu montarily baffled.
"Since you’ve already publicly announced that you won’t help the Shen family, why are you afraid of Ye Xiu finding out you ca here?" Shen Wanqiu asked.
"That’s a good question." Luo Qianjun made himself at ho, sitting down next to Shen Wanqiu. "Old Master, Wanqiu, which do you think is more fearso: an enemy out in the open, or one hidden in the shadows?"
Before they could respond, he answered his own question. "By publicly stating I won’t help the Shen family, I’ll make Ye Xiu lower his guard against . In the future, I can appear by his side as a friend. Wouldn’t killing him be child’s play?"
After hearing this, Shen Songshan and Shen Wanqiu exchanged a look, their eyes lighting up.
Shen Wanqiu said excitedly, "You purposely declared in public that you wouldn’t help the Shen family just to lull Ye Xiu into a false sense of security?"
"I’ve told you before, I’ll marry you or no one else in this lifeti," Luo Qianjun said earnestly.
Shen Wanqiu’s pretty face blushed. "Hmph," she chided playfully, "you could have at least given a wink or sothing! You nearly made explode with anger."
"If it’s an act, it has to be as realistic as possible. The more disheartened, angry, and desperate you were, the more Ye Xiu and his people would believe that I was genuinely not helping the Shen family," Luo Qianjun explained.
"Alright, alright, I forgive you!" Shen Wanqiu rolled her eyes at him coquettishly before asking, "So, have you figured out a way to kill Ye Xiu?"
"Qianjun, Ye Xiu is extrely cunning, ticulous, and powerful. Plotting against him won’t be easy," Shen Songshan cautioned.
"Old Master, have you heard of ’Night Banquet’?" Luo Qianjun asked.
Shen Songshan was taken aback. "That bounty hunter organization that suddenly rose to prominence in the Underworld in the last two years?"
"It’s mine!" Luo Qianjun said with a laugh.
Shen Songshan and Shen Wanqiu were utterly astonished. Two years ago, a mysterious organization called ’Night Banquet’ had suddenly appeared in the Underworld. Its mbers called themselves bounty hunters and took on jobs for money. In those two years, there wasn’t a single job their bounty hunters accepted that they failed to complete. This had caused quite a stir in the Underworld. Many had secretly investigated Night Banquet, but they always ca up empty. Night Banquet was as enigmatic as Huang Quan! To think it actually belonged to Luo Qianjun.
"Can Night Banquet kill Ye Xiu?" Shen Songshan asked.
"Absolutely!" Luo Qianjun declared with supre confidence. "The bounty hunters of Night Banquet are masters of various assassination arts. They are unscrupulous, stopping at nothing to achieve their goals, and their thods are impossible to defend against."
"Then have all of Night Banquet’s bounty hunters co to Qingfeng Road at once," Shen Wanqiu urged.
"I already notified them on my way here," Luo Qianjun replied with a faint smile.
"Since you’re so confident, Qianjun, I’ll leave dealing with Ye Xiu to you," Shen Songshan said.
"Rest assured, Old Master!" Luo Qianjun said confidently.
"Rest assured? Of course, I’m at ease when you’re handling things," Shen Songshan chuckled. "By the way, tonight I’ve arranged for Shen Mingxuan and ten others of the younger generation to escape to Sang Jing. From there, they will transfer to Black Water Nation. You’re an instructor for the Black Water Nation’s Yelu Special Combat Team, so settling them in shouldn’t be a problem, right?"
"A piece of cake. Just give them a call and tell them to go directly to my ho in Black Water Nation."
"They’re still on the plane, so I can’t get through. Why don’t you keep company for a ga of chess? I’ll call them once they land in Sang Jing."
"Of course. I’ve long heard of the Old Master’s superb chess skills. I would be honored to learn a move or two from you."
"Good. I’ll teach you." Shen Songshan was in high spirits as he and Luo Qianjun began a serious ga. Shen Wanqiu, like a virtuous young wife, bustled about serving them tea and water, attending to Luo Qianjun so diligently it made his head spin.
After two gas, Shen Songshan glanced at the ti and said, "The plane should have landed at Sang Jing Airport by now. I’ll give Shen Mingxuan a call."
He took out his phone and dialed Shen Mingxuan’s number.
"Hello there, old man Shen," a mocking voice said from the other end.
Shen Songshan froze. "Who are you? Why do you have Shen Mingxuan’s phone?"
"On Mr. Ye’s orders, I am escorting Shen Mingxuan and the ten others to the City of Asura for a mining detail. We’re currently at Sang Jing Airport, waiting for our transfer."
With that, the caller hung up.
Shen Songshan was dumbstruck.
So, Ye Xiu not only knew about his secret plan for Shen Mingxuan and the others to escape, but he had even sent people to capture them. It’s over! Of the most promising mbers of the Shen family’s younger generation, only Shen Wanqiu remains!
「In the Star Clubhouse restroom!」
"What’s wrong with you? Why are you following into the bathroom?" Ye Xiu asked, his head throbbing as Xia Xue clung to his arm.
Xia Xue had arrived as soon as Luo Qianjun left and had imdiately latched onto him, making everyone in the clubhouse assu he was her new lover.
"Hey, what did Shen Tianfang say to you to get you this worked up?" Ye Xiu asked, his expression dark.
"He just said so things that made completely give up on him," Xia Xue said with a shrug. "But I realized I still have him in my heart. So, I figured the best way to forget soone is to fall in love with soone else. I’ve decided to fall in love with you and let you replace Shen Tianfang in my heart."
"Are you out of your freaking mind?" Ye Xiu’s temper flared. "If you want a replacent, go find soone else! Why are you pestering ?"
"Because you slept with . You have to take responsibility," Xia Xue said smugly.
"What the hell..." Ye Xiu suddenly realized he had shot himself in the foot. Back at the Heavenly Dragon Sect, he had perford the Detoxification to treat her leg but hadn’t actually touched her. He only claid to have slept with her to get revenge for her attempt to kill him on the Shui Tian Lake Bridge. And now, she had latched onto him as a result.
"Listen, miss, calm down and hear out," Ye Xiu said, taking a deep breath to compose himself. "I was lying to you. The truth is, I never touched you."
"Then how did you know about the butterfly-shaped birthmark on my body?" Xia Xue asked.
"Your grandfather told ," Ye Xiu replied. "Call him and ask if you don’t believe ."
Xia Xue was taken aback for a mont, then waved her hand nonchalantly. "Fine, I believe you."
