"I’m telling the truth. I really brought him and his mother to Han Jin City to help Qin Ming. There’s no other reason!" Ma Zixiong roared. He remained defiant, even with a gunshot wound in his knee and Ye Xiu’s gun pointed at him.
He knew perfectly well that if he told the truth now, the Xu Family would not let him go, and his own family would suffer along with him. If he continued to stonewall, Ye Xiu might torture him to death, but at least his family would be safe.
"Are you worried that if you tell the truth, you and your family will face retaliation from the Xu Family?" Ye Xiu asked coldly, seeing right through him.

"Okay!" Ma Zixiong imdiately took out his phone to call the head of the Xu Family, but the phone was turned off. He then tried calling other mbers of the Xu Family, and all of their phones were turned off as well.
How could this be? He looked at Ye Xiu in panic. "The Xu Family mbers’ phones are all off. They—"
Ye Xiu’s expression changed dramatically. His first thought was that the Xu Family had abandoned Ma Zixiong and the Han Jin City International Entertainnt Club and was about to remotely activate the self-destruct sequence. But on second thought, if they were going to do that, they would have done it twenty minutes ago, not waited until now. Moreover, as an Ancient Martial Family with the Fire Seed Company backing them, they wouldn’t hastily abandon the club without first identifying their enemy. Either sothing had happened to the Xu Family, forcing them to turn off their phones and temporarily ignore the lab, or they were using the shutdown as a tactic to test how he would treat Ma Zixiong and the club in order to gauge their enemy’s strength and intentions.
