"It seems you don’t know that Liu Ying has been begging on the streets," He Li said sarcastically. "Tsk, tsk. She’s such a filial daughter, carrying all the burdens alone. Pretending to be fine in front of you, all while begging on the streets by herself."
Li Xiui’s face turned deathly pale, and her head spun so badly she nearly lost her balance. Her daughter was begging on the streets just to pay for her granddaughter’s treatnt? Hot tears stread down her cheeks. As a mother, her heart ached for her daughter so intensely it felt as if it were being stabbed with a knife.
"You old bitch, I don’t think the little bastard has much ti left. You might as well discharge her," Huang Deping said viciously as he walked to the hospital bed and pinched three-year-old Huang Xiao’s little face. "You already owe the hospital over thirty thousand. Continuing her treatnt will bankrupt you. It’s better to let the little bastard die and get it over with."
Huang Xiao glared with her big, round eyes, puffing her cheeks at Huang Deping. "Pah! You’re a big bad guy," she declared, spitting a mouthful of saliva onto his hand.

Huang Deping slapped Huang Xiao across the face, cursing, "You little bastard! I can tell just by looking at you that you’ll grow up to be just as worthless as your mother."
The little girl’s face swelled and reddened from the slap. The pain brought tears to her eyes, but she stubbornly refused to let them fall.
"Don’t hit Xiaoxiao!" Seeing Huang Deping strike her granddaughter, Li Xiui lunged at him like a madwoman. She pushed him away and stood defensively before the hospital bed, glaring at him like a mother hawk protecting her young.
"You old bitch, you dare push ..." Enraged, Huang Deping slapped Li Xiui to the ground. He clenched his teeth and began kicking her viciously.
"Don’t hit Grandma! Don’t hit Grandma!" Huang Xiao finally burst into tears, screaming and crying.
Huang Deping ignored her, continuing to kick Li Xiui without rcy.
"Stop it!"
Just then, Ye Xiu and Liu Ying burst through the door. Liu Ying roared, "Huang Deping, you bastard! Stop hitting my mom!"
Ye Xiu’s expression turned utterly grim. Huang Deping was even more despicable than Liu Ying had described.
"Mommy, wuu..." Seeing her mother, Huang Xiao began to wail. "The big bad guy hit Xiaoxiao and Grandma! Mommy, hit him!" In her three-year-old heart, her mother was the greatest and most powerful person in the world, soone who could surely get revenge for her and her grandmother.
"What?" Liu Ying was livid. Pointing at Huang Deping, she raged, "Huang Deping, you monster! Xiaoxiao is your daughter! She’s only three years old, and you actually hit her? Are you even human?"
"Bullshit!" Huang Deping cursed. "She is not my daughter! I don’t have a daughter! She’s the little bastard you had with so other man behind my back!"
Liu Ying had no desire to argue about this; they had fought over the sa topic countless tis over the past three years. She limped to the bedside, helped Li Xiui up, and then sat on the bed, pulling Huang Xiao into her arms. Turning to glare at Huang Deping, she asked what she already knew: "What are you doing here? "I heard you’ve been begging on the streets?" Huang Deping asked, his face grim.
"What I do is none of your damn business," Liu Ying retorted angrily.

Huang Deping slapped Liu Ying across the face. "You shaless bitch! It’s one thing if you want to have no dignity, but don’t you dare fucking embarrass ! If I ever find out you’re begging again, I’ll break your legs!"
Seeing her mother get hit, Huang Xiao buried her little head in Liu Ying’s embrace and cried her eyes out.
"Don’t cry, Xiaoxiao, don’t cry!" Liu Ying quickly soothed her daughter, not daring to argue with Huang Deping any further for fear of scaring her.
"Furthermore," Huang Deping continued, "I’m ordering you to go discharge that little bastard from the hospital right now. You’re forbidden from getting her any more treatnt. Let her die. If you disobey, I’ll break your legs and that old bitch’s right now. I’ll put your whole family in the hospital, and then we’ll see where you get the money to pay for the bills."
The color drained from Liu Ying’s and Li Xiui’s faces. Their family was already destitute. They were relying solely on Liu Ying’s ager earnings from working and begging, plus her father’s salary, which wasn’t even enough to cover Huang Xiao’s hospital and dication fees. If Huang Deping broke their legs, their family would be completely finished, and Huang Xiao would be dood.

"Shaless enough to do it, but not to admit it. You and Huang Deping are a match made in heaven—like flies drawn to filth," Ye Xiu said coldly.
"Huang Deping!" He Li shrieked at him. "Are you blind or deaf? Can’t you see or hear him insulting us?"
"Interesting." A cold sneer touched the corner of Huang Deping’s mouth. He swaggered over to Ye Xiu, tilting his head with a thuggish air as he sized him up. "Kid, even if you want to play the hero for this whore Liu Ying, you’d better size yourself up first. So people are out of your league."
SLAP!
Ye Xiu’s slap sent Huang Deping spinning like a top before he fell face-first to the ground, eating dirt. "Bring out all your trump cards," Ye Xiu said coldly. "I want to see for myself if I can afford to offend you."
The slap left Huang Deping stunned, his head buzzing as he lay on the floor.
He Li and Li Xiui were also flabbergasted. They knew exactly who Huang Deping was. Did this young man Liu Ying brought with her have a death wish, daring to hit him?
A bitter expression crossed Liu Ying’s face. She had personally seen Ye Xiu kill Wei Renwei and Wei Taining without a second thought, so she wasn’t surprised by him striking Huang Deping over a disagreent. Yet she was incredibly worried. In her eyes, Huang Deping wasn’t a common thug like Wei Renwei or Wei Taining. He was a gang leader, a powerful figure—the kind of person one simply couldn’t afford to cross.
"Good, good, very good. Finally t soone with so real nerve today," Huang Deping snarled as he pushed himself up from the floor, glaring at Ye Xiu. "Kid, you’re finished. If I don’t kill you today, my na isn’t Huang Deping!"

Ye Xiu slapped him again, sending Huang Deping spinning to the ground once more. "Hurry up and play your cards," he said impatiently. "Speak another word of nonsense, and I’ll slap you again."
Li Xiui was terrified by Ye Xiu’s ruthless, no-nonsense style. He intends to go head-to-head with Huang Deping, a battle of who has the stronger backing.
"He Li, call for backup!" Huang Deping roared from the floor.
