Kristina was dumbstruck! She had imagined countless scenarios of Ye Xiu finding her, most of which involved him apologizing, promising never to disobey her again, and swearing to take her everywhere he went. She never expected that upon seeing her, Ye Xiu would actually hit her. And on the butt, no less. All the while, he chattered on like an elder who had just found a runaway youth.
"What gives you the right to hit ?" Enraged, Kristina struggled free from Ye Xiu’s demonic grasp, scrambled to her feet, and roared.
"Oho, you dare talk back? Believe it or not, I could deal with you right here in this Bamboo Forest!" Ye Xiu barked, glaring at her.
Kristina imdiately wilted. Plucking up her courage, she stamred, "I—I just thought the environnt here was nice and wanted to stay. I wasn’t trying to hide from you."
Ye Xiu knew Kristina was lying, but he didn’t have the ti to dwell on it. Seizing the opportunity to move on, he said, "So that’s how it was. I thought sothing had happened to you. You had searching all over the mountain, and along the way, I killed a dozen or so mbers of the Restorer Alliance I ran into."
"Really?" Upon hearing that Ye Xiu had killed more than a dozen mbers of the Restorer Alliance, Kristina’s eyes lit up. "Did you find any strange cell phones on them?"
I’ve been waiting for you to say that!
Ye Xiu smoothly pulled a cell phone from his pocket. "Is this the kind you an?"
"Yes, yes, that’s the one..." Kristina quickly took the phone, eager to call her father.
...
「Biluo Island.」
Kristina’s father, Tu La, sat with a sullen expression in the Island Master’s office. The Island Master himself was busy taking one call after another, reporting on the progress of the hunt for Qin Qing and Leng Yue.
Just then, Tu La’s cell phone suddenly rang.
He took it out and, seeing an unfamiliar number, felt a surge of irritation. Still, he answered. "Who is this? What is it?"
"Dad, it’s ," Kristina’s voice ca from the phone.
Tu La shot to his feet. "Kristina, you’re alive? What happened to you? Why couldn’t I or anyone else reach you by phone or text?"
"Here’s what happened..." Kristina recounted how Yue Longxuan had provoked Huang Quan and been killed for it. She explained that Huang Quan had then taken her phone, along with those of Yue Longxuan and his n, and that their thousand-man detachnt had been annihilated. She concluded, "I pitched my tent in a Bamboo Forest where there was no signal, so it took Ye Xiu and a large group a long ti to find . During their search, Ye Xiu killed many mbers of the Restorer Alliance and got this phone, which is how I was finally able to contact you..."
She didn’t ntion her quarrel with Ye Xiu or her act of revenge, as that didn’t fit the persona of soone cultivating the Supre Oblivion Record.
"So that’s how it is." Tu La suddenly understood. Rembering sothing, he turned to the Island Master beside him. "Quick! Notify the teams pursuing Qin Qing and Leng Yue! Tell them not to harm the won under any circumstances. They are to be brought back completely unhard! Go, now!"
He was worried that if Ye Xiu learned Qin Qing and Leng Yue were being hunted or had been injured, it would spell disaster for Kristina.
"What? Dad, you sent people to hunt down and kill Qin Qing and Leng Yue..." Kristina heard Tu La’s roar and gasped in shock, but before she could finish, Ye Xiu snatched the phone from her hand.
"This is Ye Xiu."
Tu La was montarily flustered. "Ah, hello. I’m Kristina’s father, Tu La."
Ye Xiu said, "I heard everything you just said. If Qin Qing and Leng Yue suffer so much as a single scratch, you can prepare to collect your daughter’s corpse."
With that, he hung up.
Tu La stared blankly at his phone. Is Ye Xiu threatening ? No one has ever dared to speak to like that in my entire life.
"This Ye Xiu has a death wish!" Infuriated, Tu La took a deep breath, dialed Xue Man’s number, and roared, "Bring Qin Qing and Leng Yue back completely unhard! If they suffer even the slightest injury, everyone involved in their pursuit will be punished without pardon, and that punishnt will extend to their entire clan!"
What the hell is going on? A mont ago, he ordered us to hunt down and kill Qin Qing and Leng Yue. Now he wants them brought back without a scratch. What kind of ga is this?
Instantly, Xue Man understood. It seems Kristina is still alive and has contacted Tu La.
"Master, um... it seems Qin Qing and Leng Yue have entered the Abandoned City!" she reported in alarm.
"What?" Tu La’s face drained of color. "Quick, quick! Notify everyone in the mountains to enter the Abandoned City imdiately! Even if you have to kill every single beast in there, you must bring Qin Qing and Leng Yue back safe and sound!"
At that mont, Tu La began to panic. He knew all too well how dangerous the Abandoned City—or to be more precise, Sword Burial Peak—was. For Martial Artists who reached Sword Burial Peak, the chances of survival were nine to one.
...
After entering the Abandoned City, Qin Qing and Leng Yue did not encounter the life-threatening dangers Tu La had imagined. With her strength as a Seventh Realm War God, slaughtering the beasts was child’s play for Leng Yue.
"Alright, Peppa Pig, let’s go! Take us to Sword Burial Peak!" Qin Qing said, patting the back of the huge wild boar she and Leng Yue were riding.
As if it understood human speech, the wild boar happily took off toward Sword Burial Peak. Although the beast was enormous and powerful, its bristles were a tender pink, and it was surprisingly cute, like a small pet pig.
Qin Qing and Leng Yue had guessed that the boar was the king of the beasts in the Abandoned City. So, Leng Yue had beaten the boar king into submission, successfully taming it into their mount and pet, bestowing upon it the na "Peppa Pig."
And indeed, wherever Peppa Pig went, no other beast dared to approach.
"Stop!"
When Peppa Pig was about a hundred ters from Sword Burial Peak, Qin Qing called out.
"Leng Yue, look," Qin Qing said. "There’s a ’sword’ character on the cliff face of Sword Burial Peak."
Sword Burial Peak towered into the clouds, yet it was not particularly large in volu, resembling a giant sword thrust upside down into the ground.
PFFT!
The mont Leng Yue looked at the ’sword’ character on the cliff face, she was struck as if by a supre expert. She was sent flying backward off Peppa Pig, blood spraying from her mouth like water from a cheap faucet.
"Leng Yue, what’s wrong?" Qin Qing quickly jumped down from Peppa Pig and ran over to help her up.
"Unbelievable..." Severely injured, Leng Yue didn’t dare look at the character again. She said in shock, "Sword Intent... The person who wrote that character might be even stronger than the Young Master. He actually infused his Sword Intent into the very strokes of the word. The intent is so fiercely domineering that a single glance wounded this badly. I am certain that if I look again, I will die."
Qin Qing looked completely baffled. "Why am I fine?"
Leng Yue stared. "That’s right... Young Madam, how are you fine?"
"How bizarre!" Qin Qing turned her head back toward the ’sword’ character. "I’m really okay. In fact, when I look at the character, I feel a strange sense of affinity."
Leng Yue grew even more puzzled. Suddenly realizing the character was truly extraordinary, she quickly took out the Stone Mirror to contact Ye Xiu...
