When the security guard still ignored him, Luo Qiwei grew angry. "I’m talking to you! Are your ears plugged with donkey fur or sothing?"
The guard continued to ignore Luo Qiwei and turned to his colleague. "Got a smoke?"
"Yeah." The other guard pulled out a pack, shook one out, and tossed it over before lighting one for himself.
And so, the two security guards stood on either side of the gate, smoking as if no one else was there.
Luo Qiwei felt as if he were invisible. How could the two guards act as if they couldn’t see him?

"That’s right," Luo Qiwei nodded. "He’s being kept by Zhu Xiaowen."
"How did a kept man even get in here?" the young man asked, shocked.
"He snuck in by pretending to be Zhu Xiaowen’s cousin," Luo Qiwei said. "I was just about to have him thrown out."
The young man’s eyes lit up with understanding. He chuckled and said, "There’s no need for Young Master Luo to handle such a trivial matter personally. Leave it to ."
"Then I’ll have to thank you, Young Master Yang."
Luo Qiwei was delighted. He’d been thinking that if he kicked Ye Xiu out himself, it would cause a huge scene. Since he was the host, a commotion would ultimately make him lose face. He couldn’t be happier that soone else was willing to do the dirty work.
"A trivial matter," the young man known as Young Master Yang said, waving his hand dismissively as he walked toward Ye Xiu.
Seeing this, Qin Qing sighed. This kid must not have checked the almanac before leaving ho tonight.
Ye Xiu had been keeping an eye on the activity around Qin Qing. Seeing Young Master Yang chat with Luo Qiwei before heading his way, he sighed internally. No matter where I go, I always run into people who are eager to court death.

She turned, and upon seeing Young Master Yang, her brow furrowed in disgust. "Yang Guofu, what are you doing here? Get lost. You’re not welco."
"This is Young Master Luo’s party. I’ll go where I please," Yang Guofu retorted with a smug grin. "If you don’t want to see , you’re free to leave."
He then raised his voice, adding, "However, I do have to admire your nerve, bringing a kept man to Ming Feng Tower. Aren’t you afraid of being blacklisted?"
Yang Guofu’s voice was deliberately loud. Since everyone was already discussing Ye Xiu, the sight of a squabble between him and Zhu Xiaowen drew them all closer. Everyone knew the Yang and Zhu families had always been rivals.
"I... I don’t know what you’re talking about," Zhu Xiaowen stamred, unable to et his gaze.
"You don’t know?" Yang Guofu pointed a finger at Ye Xiu and demanded loudly, "Do you dare deny that he’s the kept man you’re paying for?"
"That’s nonsense! He... he’s my cousin," Zhu Xiaowen insisted, steeling herself.
"Alright. Since you say he’s your cousin, have him show his Identity Token," Yang Guofu said smugly, looking as if he’d already won. "I seem to recall your mother’s surna is Lin, isn’t it? If his surna is also Lin, then I’ll believe he’s your cousin."
