The cara turns to the two guests.
The host first asks: "Mr. Thompson, how do you view the impact of Abu You's defection on our strategy in Illiguo?"
Thompson looks serious: "This is undoubtedly a heavy blow, Jennifer. Abu You's troops are one of the most battle-hardened segnts of the Kurd Ard. Their departure not only weakens the overall military strength but also sets a dangerous precedent, potentially leading to further division within the KPG. More importantly, the entity they have defected to... is said to be the wanted Song Heping, which complicates the situation and could even pose a new long-term threat."
Ms. Jones interjects sharply: "The key question is, why has this situation arisen? Where are our policies and support? Why wasn't the CIA, as the main agency responsible for intelligence and covert operations, able to anticipate and even prevent this split? We've invested huge funds and resources, so why does our local intelligence network appear so fragile?"
The host aptly guides: "Speaking of the intelligence network, we have received so unverified reports that CIA intelligence points in Northern Illigo, especially in Aleppo Province, have suffered precise strikes from the 1515 Ard in the past months, with significant losses. Is this true? If so, does it an there's a major flaw in our intelligence work?"
Thompson nods heavily: "Although officially unconfird, information from multiple sources indicates that the situation is indeed grim. Intelligence is the eyes and ears of military operations. If the ears are deaf and the eyes blind, our actions there would be like a headless fly, with decreased airstrike accuracy, unable to effectively support ground troops, and even mistakenly harm civilians, which would severely damage our credibility and allies' confidence."
Jones presses the attack: "This leads to the issue of leadership responsibility. Since Director Vincent took office, our intelligence work in the Middle East seems to have been fraught with issues. From Yen to Syria, and now to Illiguo, there have been repeated setbacks. Does this imply systemic problems with our strategy and leadership? The upcoming congressional hearing must thoroughly investigate this! We need soone to be held accountable!"
The program ends in a strong atmosphere of questioning the CIA's capabilities and Vincent's leadership.
...
As the program airs.
In the CIA director's office at Langley.
Vincent watches the TV screen with the incessantly critical female comntator attacking the CIA and himself, and glancing at the glaring headline below the screen, "CIA intelligence failure causes ally division?"
His face turns from livid to crimson, his chest heaving violently.
Finally, unable to suppress the raging fury inside, he grabs the heavy ceramic coffee cup on the desk and, with all his strength, fiercely hurls it at the ultra-thin TV playing his "failure declaration!"
"Bang—Crash!!"
The screen instantly goes black, fragnts flying everywhere. Coffee stains are like marks of failure, splattered across the walls and carpet.
Vincent gasps heavily, eyes bloodshot, pointing at the ss on the ground, roaring at his secretary who stands silent in fear: "Get the Congressional Security Committee! These raving dia are insane! They are undermining national security!!"
However, his roar seems so feeble amidst the brewing storm of public opinion and Washington's political gas.
The shadow of the hearing is inching closer to him.
anwhile, Song Heping is calmly observing all this from his camp on the Persian Plateau, preparing his next move.
This storm of intrigue has just begun.
