Ten minutes later, Simon's helicopter stirred up a cloud of yellow sand, disappearing into the sky over Daguge.
The last trace of a formulaic smile faded from Song Heping's face, replaced by cold killing intent.
"Ungrateful bastards."
He muttered quietly.
This remark was not a personal assessnt of Simon, but the ultimate disdain for the entire bureaucratic system of a distant super empire.
Do those politicians in the DC Special District really think they can make Song Heping submit as a pawn on their chessboard with a few empty promises and so negligible assistance?
If so, they're gravely mistaken.
He turned and returned to the command center, grabbing the red internal communicator on the table, deftly pressing the call button.
"Samir, Abu You, co see imdiately!"
The order was brief and direct, without any unnecessary words.
In just a couple of minutes, the heavy iron door of the command center was pushed open again.
"Boss!"
"Mr. Song!"
The two spoke almost simultaneously.
Song Heping exchanged no pleasantries, striding directly to the massive military map hanging on the wall.
His finger heavily tapped the area marked with nurous circles and dots — Kirkuk Oil Field Area.
"The Aricans failed in negotiations with us."
Song Heping said, "They wanted respect but chose disgrace. They think we can't move forward without their paltry support."
His gaze swept over Samir and Abu You: "Samir, have the main mobile battalions of your 'Liberation Forces' secretly assembled as planned, ready to go? I need precise numbers on equipnt status, ammunition reserves, morale, and physical condition!"
He paused, turning his gaze to Abu You, "Abu You, if I rember correctly, Kirkuk was your territory before? Do you have the courage and determination to take it back yourself?"
The na "Kirkuk" instantly ignited a gleam in their eyes.
"Been ready for a long ti, Boss!"
Samir stepped forward: "The first and third assault battalions, heavy fire support company, and all mortar squads and anti-tank teams have advanced to the pre-designated attack departure positions east of Kirkuk as planned. All heavy equipnt has completed final camouflage, and ammunition reserves are sufficient to support three days of high-intensity operations, ready to engage at any ti."
He quickly and clearly reported, each data point etched in his mind.
"Mr. Song!"
Abu You was even more excited: "My boys have been waiting impatiently! Just give the order!"
"Good!"
The last trace of hesitation in Song Heping's eyes vanished completely.
"According to intelligence from the Persians, the main force of the Kurd ard alliance, including their elite fighters, are stuck in the at grinder of Agra, unable to move! According to our latest insider information, Kirkuk is extrely under-defended at its rear, as fragile as a sheet of wet tissue! Besides a few secondary reserve troops, the only guards left are local police, lacking heavy weapons, with a chaotic command system, extrely low vigilance — they can't imagine we'd launch a fatal strike at this ti!"
He looked at Samir and Abu You and said, "I want you to imdiately initiate the 'Thunder' plan! Mobilize all available forces, and tonight, launch an overnight offensive on Kirkuk! No probing attacks, no sparing of ammunition! Directly use the fiercest artillery preparations to tear their defenses apart! Then, move swiftly, split and encircle from multiple directions, and capture all oil field areas, pump stations, storage tanks, and key transportation hubs in Kirkuk!"
Then, he intensified his tone: "Rember! You must act quickly! As swift as lightning! Strike ruthlessly! As rciless as thunder! I want Washington's big shots sitting in their air-conditioned offices, looking at satellite images, to see the news of Kirkuk's change of control before they take their first sip of coffee tomorrow morning!"
"Yes! We'll complete the mission!"
Samir and Abu You spoke in unison, filled with irrepressible excitent and fierce killing intent.
Song Heping did not stay in the command center waiting idly.
After Samir and Abu You left, he imdiately shifted to another backup command post in Daguge City.
A wise rabbit prepares multiple dens.
Aricans are not fools, precautions must be made.
Should Kirkuk be occupied and the other side decides to employ drastic asures to decapitate him, they mustn't find a target.
After entering the new backup command center, he first summoned the communications team.
"From now on, this new command center maintains the highest level of radio silence. All units activate backup communication frequencies and encryption protocols, restoring communication links fifteen minutes before the Kirkuk battle starts, all frontline information relayed through the original command center's main exchange, understood?"
"Yes, Boss, don't worry, leave this to !"
The technical manager responded most decisively and confidently.
Then, he contacted the reconnaissance team deep behind enemy lines.
"Night Hawk team, report the latest dynamics observed in the target area. Guard shift tis, patrol routes, fixed firing positions, especially the security situation inside the oil field facilities, I need the most detailed updates."
A lowered voice ca through the headset: "Commander, everything in the target area is normal, with no abnormal troops increase observed. The night patrol team just passed by, the next one is expected in two hours. The spotlight on the left side of Area A pump station is broken, yet to be repaired. There is about five ters of damage in the periter wire around Oil Warehouse C Area, unnoticed... We believe around 10 p.m. is the optimal attack window."
