Now reading: Chapter 153 - 141 Finally Here2 from Mercenaries, I Will Be King, a Action novel by Yan Qi Guan.

He stood up again, and this ti leisurely returned to his ambush position, evidently feeling much more relaxed after resolving his issues.

Song Heping aid his reticle at the target and simulated firing.

The target was about 200 ters away from him.

Song Heping was absolutely certain he could eliminate the target.

But he didn't do it.

The "Watcher" squad had positioned six n here.

After killing one, he would still have to deal with five more.

It wasn't worth it.

One careless move, and he would be in serious trouble.

Now, the initiative was in his hands.

He guessed that by now, White Bear and his team should have followed the Euphrates River up to the Northern Border of Illiguo, and with another day or two's delay, they were certain to cross the border.

Unless sothing unexpected happened.

However, from the arrangent of the "Watcher" ambushing here, it was obvious that White Bear and his team were absolutely safe.

The people from SAD were led into a trap by him alone.

There in the darkness, Song Heping quietly watched as several "Watcher" mbers appeared not far away, each going to relieve themselves.

It was an interesting situation.

Every ti a "Watcher" appeared, Song Heping simulated an attack and rembered their ambush positions.

He even mischievously thought about running to their defecation spot to plant an anti-infantry mine.

Hehe.

Wilson and his team mbers went one by one to deal with their physiological needs.

They had no idea that in a dense bush just outside their ambush circle, a pair of eyes were always watching them.

The next day, the situation changed again.

During the day, SAD's helicopter did not appear again.

Instead, it was the military helicopters from Turknistan that appeared, and the density was clearly high, with many more flights.

Wilson inquired through the radio to the temporary headquarters; Alvin's response was that Turknistan had declared the Alles Mountain Area a no-fly zone, tourist helicopters were no longer allowed, and the leased helicopters could not fly anymore.

This was truly fatal news.

The inability to continue surveillance by helicopter not only ant a reduced probability of finding the target but, more fatally, the loss of reconnaissance on Turknistan's search teams' positions.

Just yesterday, the helicopters leased by SAD were still continuously informing the "Watcher" squad about the patrol routes and directions of Turknistan's search and border patrol teams.

This was advantageous for the squad to be discovered by Turknistan's forces.

Now, without the helicopters, it was like losing their eyes.

They did not know where Turknistan's search line had reached, how far it had advanced, or in what direction it was headed.

Wilson felt sowhat uneasy.

But the 48-hour deadline had not been reached.

He really didn't want to give up.

They had been in ambush here for two days already.

To give up now would be to waste all their previous efforts.

"Boss, what do we do if we encounter Turknistan's JAK Special Forces?"

The sniper Rock asked Wilson over the communication channel.

"What can we do? Tell them we ca here as tourists? Do you think they will believe that?"

The machine gunner Scott joked sarcastically.

"We can only fight them hard and look for a chance to withdraw."

"Once the fighting starts, we are outnumbered, and they will definitely call for air support quickly."

"Air support takes ti, don't worry, we will have already made our getaway before they arrive."

A few Watcher mbers bantered with each other on the channel.

They seed very relaxed.

These were all battle-hardened Special Forces veterans with excellent psychological quality.

"Enough!" Wilson interrupted everyone, "I hope what you are saying doesn't co true. I've made it clear, before dying, I will detonate the Aluminum Thermite Grenade on myself. You all know where to place it without teaching you, we can't leave any traceable evidence."

Each "Watcher" mber had an Aluminum Thermite Grenade on them, ant to be used for suicide if escape was impossible.

Even suicide had its protocols.

After pulling the pin and releasing the lever, they were to clasp the grenade tightly with both hands and place it near their head at the chest level to detonate.

This would not only blow their heads to smithereens but also disintegrate their hands.

Teeth, fingerprints – all would cease to exist.

The only thing left would be DNA.

Unless the people of Turkey took this DNA to request a comparison with a DNA bank of the "Watcher" mbers from SAD, no trace would be found.

At the ntion of this, everyone suddenly lost their mood for joking, and the channel finally went silent.

But as feared, that's what happened.

Wilson suddenly heard the noise of helicopter rotors in the sky.

"There's a plane coming!"

The sniper responsible for lookout and observation, Rock, was the first to give the warning.

All "Watcher" mbers imdiately got into hiding and stayed completely still.

The helicopter took its ti flying over, hovering about several dozen ters above the ambush circle.

Boom boom—

Suddenly, two bullets from nowhere struck the belly of the helicopter.

The JAK mbers inside the helicopter scread, "There are people down there!"

The pilot quickly turned around and left.

anwhile, the JAK mbers on the helicopter began desperately calling their command center—

"Enemy spotted in Dowuba Valley, sector Z32! Repeat! Enemy spotted in Dowuba Valley, sector Z32! Requesting reinforcents! Requesting reinforcents!"

"Who the hell fired that shot!"

Wilson cursed on the channel.

"Who was it!?"

"Not !"

"Nor !"

"Boss, it wasn't us, we have silencers, it sounded like an AK74 assault rifle!"

Soon, a teammate made his own assessnt.

"It seems like the person is near us!"

Near us!?

Wilson suddenly felt numb.

When did an outsider appear so close to them?

Who could it be?

What were their intentions?!

Countless thoughts flashed through his mind.

"Boss, do we retreat!?" asked the sniper, Rock.

To retreat or not?

That was a tough decision.

They were facing a significant problem now.

If they retreated then, everyone would be exposed.

If they didn't retreat, the area would soon be surrounded.

"Rock! Can you take down that helicopter?"

Wilson knew that even if they were to retreat, they must eliminate the helicopter above.

If he wasn't mistaken, that was a UH-1H helicopter, and there surely were machine gunners or snipers inside the cabin.

If they didn't take it down, he and his team would beco sitting ducks during the retreat.

The UH-1H helicopter wasn't heavily armored, its bulletproof capabilities weren't that great, and if Rock's shooting skills were accurate enough, using armor-piercing bullets to hit the glass of the cockpit could take out the people inside.

"They are flying too far! I can't do it!"

"I'll draw them closer, you snipe!"

"Okay!"

"Apart from Rock, everyone else imdiately spread out and head south! Draw the helicopter closer for Rock to shoot!"

Under Wilson's command, the "Watcher" squad, except for the hiding sniper, Rock, sprang up and scattered in the southern direction.

In the sky, the JAK mbers inside the UH-1H helicopter saw several figures on the ground.

They hadn't seen anyone before.

Even with night vision goggles, they couldn't see anyone.

It was evident that the adversaries' camouflage was very effective.

"See that, there are five people! They are definitely the terrorists ntioned in the briefing!"

The higher-ups had said in the briefing that the attacks by the Blattson sect were carried out by an unidentified ard squadron.

The counter-terrorism departnt speculated that the Kurd Ard forces took advantage of the recent chaos in Turkey to cause trouble with the aim of creating unrest and regaining control over their territory.

Thus, the Turkish counter-terrorism departnt gave the JAK Special Forces the command—capture them alive if possible, otherwise, eliminate them all!

"Fly over there! Get closer, I'll take them out!"

The machine gunner inside the helicopter was eagerly waiting.
