Logging into the system made things much simpler.

Because the company's managent system was hierarchical, a manager-level employee had the authority to modify the day's flight tasks.

For a pilot with over a decade of experience in the Special Forces, the subsequent work proceeded very smoothly.

But the smoother things went, the more likely problems would arise.

Dominic had just tampered with the data and was leaving when, just as he locked the door, he suddenly heard a shout from the end of the hallway, "Dominic!"

This shout nearly made Dominic's hair stand on end.

He turned his head sharply and saw his colleague Boom.

In a flash of wit, Dominic twisted the door lock and knocked on the door, pretending to be looking for soone.

"Damn it, the manager isn't here?!"

"Of course he isn't! You've been drinking again, haven't you!?"

Boom walked up to him while disdainfully looking at Dominic.

"What ti is it now? Five past five, tell what ti does the manager start work?"

After saying that, and after his gaze had wandered over Dominic's body, he asked doubtfully, "Eh? Aren't you supposed to be handing over your resignation? Why have you co back so early?"

Dominic was no stranger to such situations, his mind worked quickly, and in a tone of complaint, he said, "Damn it, it was the manager who told to co back early. He said there was a mission to fly to Yasuni National Park and pick up a scientific research team there, but now that I'm here, he's not."

All he wanted was to get rid of the other man quickly. After all, he had finished altering the flight schedule, and he could now head to the hangar for the plane and then fly off.

Once he really took off, who cared!

Just then, the mobile phone in his pocket started vibrating.

Dominic guessed it was Song Heping sending him a ssage.

The ti was five past five, and he estimated that the attack was probably starting now. Song Heping needed to confirm his situation here.

But he couldn't take it out to reply.

After all, Boom was standing right in front of him. Wouldn't that give him away?

He pulled out his phone, shook it, and said to Boom, "I need to take a call first."

After saying that, he started to walk away, trying to escape.

Unexpectedly, just as he reached the stairwell door, he heard Boom again, "Wait!"

Dominic's heart skipped a beat, wondering if he had given himself away.

"I have to leave; there's an ergency. What else do you want?!"

Boom caught up quickly and whispered, "Take with you on the way. I'm going to New Caro Castle."

At KKM Company, hitching rides was quite common.

Dominic realized that Boom hadn't discovered anything; he just wanted to hitch a helicopter ride, and Dominic's biggest concern subsided.

But he wasn't actually going to Yasuni National Park, so it was not really en route.

New Caro Castle was near Yasuni National Park, about three hundred kiloters away.

That would take at least an hour of flying ti, and then from New Caro Castle back to Latagua was another three hundred or so kiloters.

Going back and forth would multiply the original flight distance of a little over a hundred kiloters several tis over.

Having provided dedicated flight services for the Special Forces, he knew the importance of punctuality in operations.

Not to ntion wasting two extra hours, he couldn't even accept a single minute.

"This mission is pretty urgent; I don't have ti to take you with ."

Dominic made up an excuse and brushed it off, "The scientific research team is in a hurry; I have to take them and then fly straight to Quito to catch a plane."

Upon hearing this, Boom imdiately beca unhappy, his face grew visibly longer.

"Dominic, there were tis when I let you hitch a ride on my plane. What, now that you are leaving, you're going to pretend you don't recognize old acquaintances?"

While they were arguing, Dominic's phone started vibrating again.

He still didn't dare to answer it.

The trouble that was Boom was still right in front of him.

"I said I'm not taking you, so I'm not! Get lost!"

Dominic, feeling desperate, turned and went downstairs, refusing to continue arguing with Boom.

"Wait a second!"

Boom chased after him and grabbed Dominic by the arm.

Dominic felt a rush of impulse, and his hand unconsciously moved toward his pocket.

Inside it was a Taurus GX4 pistol.

Boom probably got scared by the flash of murderous intent in Dominic's eyes and let go of his hand.

"I'll call the manager and ask for permission. If he agrees, you should have no problem..."

Before he could finish speaking, Dominic suddenly put his hand over the one Boom reached into his pocket to grab the phone with, and a smile suddenly spread across his face.

"Alright, alright, I'll take you, okay?"

Dominic's sudden change of attitude left Boom feeling like he had stepped into a ditch.

"Really?"

He asked tentatively.

"Really!" Dominic said while continuing downstairs, "I'll just make that scientific research team wait a bit longer in the national park, at most half an hour."

"That's great!"

Boom imdiately dismissed the thought of calling the manager and followed Dominic down the stairs.

The two of them crossed the lawn in front of the company and turned into the helipad on the left side of the office building, eventually arriving in front of the hangar.

After explaining the situation and checking the day's flight arrangents, Dominic finally boarded the MI-171 with the number 2.

At that mont, his phone vibrated again.

He pulled it out and glanced at the screen.

It displayed a ssage from Song Heping.

"What's up? You gonna return the call?"

Boom asked while fastening his seatbelt.

"No need."

Dominic just wanted to leave as soon as possible.

Another ten minutes had been wasted.

Every second was a matter of life and death.

Half an hour later, the helicopter was soaring in the blue sky.

Dominic continued to fly at an altitude of 2000 ters; after all, with many mountains around, this height was safer.

Suddenly, Boom realized sothing was off.

"Is this... it looks like we are flying north?"

"There's a large area of low-pressure cumulonimbus clouds to the southwest today, didn't you know?" Dominic replied expressionlessly, "I'm flying north first, then turning south, which will take us right past New Caro Castle and then to the national park."

"Oh!"

Boom suddenly understood.

Dominic was the company's best helicopter pilot in terms of flying skills.

Plus, with a rich resu and plenty of experience, Boom had no reason to doubt him.

Another half-hour passed.

This ti Boom finally realized sothing was wrong.

"Dominic, are you going the wrong way?! If we keep flying, we'll enter Colombian airspace!"

This ti Dominic didn't answer him, but instead pushed the control stick to lower the altitude.

The helicopter's altiter dropped rapidly.

1500...

1200...

1000...

800...

500...

Now Boom realized that sothing was seriously wrong.

But he couldn't figure out what Dominic intended to do.

Defect with the aircraft?

Steal the aircraft!?

Retaliate against the company!?

Countless thoughts flashed through Boom's mind.

"Do you see that river up ahead?"

Dominic suddenly spoke again, pointing ahead.

Sure enough, a river appeared in their line of sight.

"I will lower the altitude to 6 ters, and over the river surface, you'll jump out."

He looked at Boom with a smirk, "I know you can swim."

Boom's eyes widened in shock, "Are you crazy!? What do you an?! Where are we?! How do I get back?!"

He fired off a succession of questions.

Dominic pointed to the life jacket strapped above.

"Hand over your phone, then put on the life jacket. I'm giving you 30 seconds."

"You..."

Boom opened his mouth, wanting to argue, but in the next second, he swiftly took out his phone, placed it on the dashboard, and began obediently putting on the life jacket.

Because Dominic now had a small handgun in his hand, with its dark barrel pointed at Boom's forehead.

It was a mini pistol with likely not too great a firepower, but at this distance, a shot to kill him would be all too easy.

"I'm ready."

"Jump."

"Alright!"

Splash—

Boom pushed open the helicopter's side door and really jumped out, falling into the water.

The hovering MI-171 quickly began to climb, and as it reached an altitude of over forty ters, its nose dipped, and it flew toward the northern border.
