Now reading: Chapter 486 - 432: Annihilation from Mercenaries, I Will Be King, a Action novel by Yan Qi Guan.

The AUC camp was about 10 kiloters to the north.

Most of eastern Colombia is covered by jungle with nurous and dense rivers, so finding a suitable ambush spot here is not difficult at all.

Anthony found a decent ambush spot at a turn in the jungle road.

The choice of this location was because convoy vehicles usually slow down at turns, secondly to the west was a slope, to the north, a river, and dense forest to the east.

With a pincer movent from both sides and cutting off the retreat path, the convoy would be trapped on the dirt road; even if they wanted to disembark and deploy, they would be easily annihilated by the ambushing soldiers on both sides due to having no advantageous terrain to defend.

In the north, Godwin led a squad that was already ambushed in the forest opposite the turn, where they had set up sniper rifles.

Their group's mission was to take out the lead vehicle and block the advance.

The weather tonight was good.

No wind, and the moonlight was clear, providing good visibility. Plus, considering the ambush position was only a little over a hundred ters from the dirt road, there was no need to worry about adjusting their aim.

Two attack squads had already buried so explosives on the dirt road to blow up the rear vehicle and block the retreat route.

"All squads report your positions."

"Squad one in position."

"Squads two and three in position."

"Squads four and five in position."

While Anthony and his team were busy setting up the ambush, Song Heping and Jiang Feng observed from a distance on a hillside with night vision goggles.

They did not intervene in these matters, only responsible for observing.

They would provide reminders at the necessary mont.

Song Heping felt this was enough; he already provided the answers like an open book earlier. If they could not even execute a proper ambush, he wouldn't feel sorry for any casualties.

"Here they co."

Jiang Feng noticed lights appearing in the distance.

Song Heping counted the lights, a total of ten trucks.

"What a pity."

He rembered again the batch of arms swallowed up by the AUC.

Worth two million after all.

If it weren't for that incident, he would not have tangled with the AUC and would not have coincidentally gotten involved with Morins.

Regardless.

Let it be AUC's bad luck. He wanted to expand into the South Arican market, and happened to encounter an ard group that was blocking his financial path and was quite famous.

Using them as a sacrifice to open up the market was a wonderful thing.

The lead vehicle quickly entered the range of the ambush circle.

The ELN trainees hidden in the dense forest and slopes on both sides let it pass.

A lieutenant from the AUC rode in the passenger seat of the lead vehicle.

At this mont, he was unaware that the Grim Reaper was waiting ahead.

Since this was AUC territory, he was not at all concerned about safety and thus lit a cigarette, leisurely enjoying his smoke.

This batch of arms needed to be escorted three hundred kiloters away, to several units confronting the ELN on the front lines.

The lieutenant was very aware of the higher-ups' intentions as the AUC had recently seized several territories from the ELN.

He thought that completely eradicating the ELN might be difficult as their territory bordered different neighboring countries; they would probably escape to another country for refuge if they were losing.

But if they could be driven out of Colombia, returning might not be so easy.

So, a major operation was planned for the near future.

Crack—

Just as the lieutenant was fantasizing about the upcoming operations, the windshield in front of him suddenly shattered, and a bullet struck his head.

A mist of blood exploded inside the cabin, covering the windshield in a layer of red.

The driver leaned forward, his body pressing on the horn button on the steering wheel, and the truck emitted a shrill sound that made one's hair stand on end.

"Be careful!"

The captain froze for a mont before violently reaching for the steering wheel, trying to steady the truck.

The truck cabin was packed with munitions and ammunition—should it roll over and cause a severe collision, there would likely be an explosion that would blow everything to smithereens, not leaving a single intact piece of flesh to be found.

The mont he had grabbed the steering wheel and steadied the vehicle, a violent explosion erupted from the rear of the convoy.

Boom—

The massive shockwave kicked up dust from the ground, tossing the shrubs and trees along both sides of the dirt road into a chaotic tangle.

He saw a huge fireball rise in the rearview mirror, and an indescribable sense of panic filled his heart.

Ambushed!

As this word flashed through his mind, the captain suddenly heard the crisp sound of shattering glass.

Crack—

It was followed by two more sounds.

Crack crack—

The glass continued to shatter, rapidly forming a spiderweb pattern, and the view of the road ahead beca completely obscured.

The captain felt sothing slam hard into his chest, and inertia pressed his upper body back into the seat.

He looked down to see blood spurting from his chest wound.

"I..." He wanted to scream, to call for help.

However, as soon as he opened his mouth, blood gushed out.

With no strength left in his hands, the captain felt as if sothing was violently sucking the life out of him from the wound in his chest.

In less than ten seconds, his vision went dark, and his head slumped to the side as he collapsed in the driver's cab.

The truck, now out of control, swayed like a drunken stupor on the dirt road before coming to a stop across the road.

Whizz—

An RPG rocket ca flying, burrowing straight into the truck cabin.

Boom—

The explosion triggered an even larger one.

The trendous blast shattered the windows of the following vehicle, with glass shards piercing into the faces and even the eyes of the driver and escort personnel like shrapnel from shells.

"Ah—I can't see! I can't see!"

The shards of glass had punctured the driver's eyeballs, even ejecting the lenses.

He waved his hands frantically and then suddenly tried to touch his eyes.

Unfortunately, before he could reach his eyes, the truck crashed into the roadside, bounced over a mound of dirt, and flipped onto its side.

A multitude of firearms and weapons broke through the tarp and scattered across the dirt road.

The three vehicles behind were carrying AUC soldiers for the escort.

Upon hearing the explosion, they all jumped out of the vehicles.

However, before they even hit the ground, bullets rained down from the dense foliage and slopes on both sides of the dirt road.

Several of the first militants to exit scread in agony as their bodies riddled with nurous bullet holes before they collapsed to the ground.

The convoy was in chaos, blindsided and unable to react to the direction of the attack.

Anthony hid behind a tree on the slope, and seeing that the convoy had stopped, he quickly switched the remote control to the control channel of the second IED and pressed the detonation switch without hesitation.

Thump—

Another muffled explosion followed.

This IED, embedded in the roadside bushes and composed of TNT blocks and three fragntation hand grenades, functioned like a makeshift Directional Bomb, designed for area damage.

The ELN mbers had one quality that Song Heping was very satisfied with.

They had a strong ability to make bombs.

Because they frequently attacked governnt buildings or military camps, every new mber received ticulous teaching from veterans, quickly learning how to create various bombs.

After the explosion, an orange-red fire mushrood in the bushes, sending shrapnel whirling across the mountain road like a gust of wind. Plus of white smoke rose instantly as the AUC soldiers who had jumped from the vehicle, yet to find cover, violently twitched, with rciless hot shrapnel piercing through them, creating holes and felling them like leaves to the ground.
