As Song Heping was still hesitating whether to take the easy or the hard way out, Angel saw right through him.

"Do Eastern n all have such strong pride?" she asked.

That question hit him right in the chest.

Song Heping hurriedly replied, "Not really..."

The words he blurted out made him feel even more embarrassed.

By saying "not really," wasn't he admitting that he was willing to accept Angel's financial help?

He couldn't stand it.

After all, he was the owner of a Defense Company, making at least forty-five million dollars in profit a year, possibly more in the future. How could he be manipulated by an Arican girl?

"I didn't an that, I an... I'll figure out the money myself, I don't need your help."

To explain is to cover up.

That's true.

Angel laughed rrily.

She gave Song Heping another lesson.

"Darling, did you think I was going to lend you money?"

Her words confused Song Heping even more and made him feel even more embarrassed, almost as if he was getting ahead of himself.

So she wasn't planning to lend him money.

Seeing his awkwardness, Angel said softly, "You're now the owner of a Defense Company. There are many things you must learn how to handle, such as how to expand your business, where to expand, and what strategies to adopt. What kind of place is the United States? It's the capital of capital. You need to learn how to operate capital."

After listening, Song Heping sensed that Angel had a plan in mind, so he modestly said, "Then please, teach ."

Angel explained, "In the United States, you don't necessarily need to have enough funds to start a project. If an item is worth a million dollars, you don't necessarily have to take a million dollars out of your pocket to buy it. You need to learn how to package your project and then find the right investors. As long as your project is well-packaged and attractive enough, money will not be an issue, especially since the US doesn't lack US Dollars, what it lacks are projects."

"A dia company... A local newspaper, would anyone be interested?" Song Heping obviously didn't understand the operational model here.

In his view, since the Internet bubble had burst and many companies wanted to offload these burdens, who would want to invest?

"Of course, this is a magical land. As long as you're good at packaging, even trash can be sold," Angel said confidently, looking very sure of herself.

Song Heping replied, "We have an old saying back ho, 'Pies don't just fall from the sky.' My father taught this principle from a young age. If there are such good projects, wouldn't others have done them?"

Angel put down her fork and laughed until she shook.

It took her a while to regain her composure and say, "Indeed, pies don't fall from the sky. You asked why others don't undertake such good projects? Even if soone wants to, firstly, they need to have connections. Even with connections, they need skills and authority within the industry. Ferrell is a case in point. Packaging a project and selling it to others, convincing them to invest in you, that's also an art."

She pointed to the tip of her nose.

"I'm very good at this kind of work."

"So you an..." Song Heping finally understood. "You can help complete this project?"

"I can," Angel said. "But Ferrell's five million needs to be in cold, hard cash. If you can't co up with that, then..."

Saying this, she gave him a aningful smile.

Song Heping quickly said, "I should be able to get that money. My company has quite a bit of inco every month."

Morins also owed five million in consultancy fees.

As long as he won this battle, not only could he bring in another five million, but the arms market would also open up, and he wouldn't have to worry about business in South Arica.

His nervous appearance made Angel laugh rrily again.

These past couple of days, Song Heping had been very happy.

At least, he had greatly enjoyed his ti with Angel.

Song Heping had never had a girlfriend before, only harboring a secret crush on a female classmate, so this was truly his first love.

Yet, he had never expected his first love to be a daughter of an Arican political family, who could offer so much help—beauty, wealth, and intelligence. Though she was a blonde, it even seed like fortune had befallen the Song family's ancestral grave.

Everything in New York was going smoothly.

That evening, Song Heping also watched the CNN interview program.

After watching it, he felt a gap between professions.

Professional work indeed needed to be managed by professionals.

After the broadcast ended, Angel called him to et up at a coffee shop.

A few of them found a quiet corner to sit down, and Song Heping didn't beat around the bush but dived straight into the topic.

"Fair, evaluate tonight's program yourself," he said, "will it alert the Pentagon? Will they halt their operations?"

"No," Fair responded confidently, "tonight, I didn't provide any substantial evidence on the show, so by the usual tactics of those military heads at the Pentagon, they definitely won't back down. They have their own intelligence assessnt departnt to evaluate my remarks. Based on the information I've disclosed so far, they would conclude that it is safe to proceed. They might just suspect that so mid-level military officers from the Colombian side leaked so rumors."

Song Heping was sowhat disappointed after hearing this.

"Alright, since everything is going smoothly, I'll leave the matter here in your hands. I'll head back to Venezuela tomorrow."

Fair anxiously instructed, "Rember, this matter is of great importance. You must wait until they act and get photos of the combat. It would be best to have pictures that include the US Army, the Colombian Army, and AUC militants all together in one fra. It would be sensational, absolutely a military scandal."

"You expose these things and aren't afraid of being silenced?" Song Heping asked.

Fair displayed a disdainful smile, "What's that level of intensity? Will this scandal be bigger than the those of innocent civilians being killed in Afghanistan and Illiguo? Song, there are rules in the Arican dia landscape about what can or cannot be disclosed, and I am well aware of them. If one day you bring any lethal information, irrespective of its newsworthiness, I wouldn't dare touch it."

"You have your fears too?" Song Heping asked, "I thought with press freedom, you'd be a journalist with a sense of justice."

"Compared to most peers, I certainly am one of the few conscientious journalists in Arica right now."

Fair was not stingy in praising himself.

The conversation moved from the current issue to future dia company projects.

Fair was very interested after hearing about it, especially when Song Heping ntioned he could arrange a $500,000 US Dollar fee to break his own contract—Fair was first surprised, then regained his composure.

"While I'm very flattered by your high regard for ," he said, "I still need to think it over and will give you an answer after that."

Song Heping exchanged glances with Angel, both of them guessing Fair's reservations.

Clearly, a defense company owner wouldn't arbitrarily invest in a dia company, especially not offering such a substantial sum for a contract breakage fee.

Fair wasn't a naive novice, of course, he wouldn't be easily self-moved.

"Alright, if you've thought it through and are interested in my proposal, you can contact at any ti."

Song Heping wasn't in a rush to force the issue.

Things should proceed naturally; forcing results never ends sweetly.

When Song Heping had managed everything and left New York, just as Fair had anticipated, the Pentagon was performing an assessnt of the situation.

Indeed, the CNN interview program coupled with Fair's questions at the press conference had already caught the attention of the military intelligence departnt.

The United States, a country that doesn't lack intelligence agencies, has as many as 17 major intelligence organizations, not to ntion countless smaller, secretive ones.

They infiltrated every industry, both dostic and international, monitoring and surveilling everywhere that needed attention.

However, just as Fair speculated, the final assessnt concluded that Fair's source of intelligence was of low level, insufficient to cause critical impact on the operations, hence not a concern.

Based on the military intelligence departnt's conclusion, the Pentagon decided to stick with the original plan. Within half a month, they aid to join efforts with the Colombian governnt army and AUC militants to launch a deadly strike against the ELN militants, striving to eradicate this second-largest left-wing ard group within Colombia.
