Song Heping took another look at the two CIA agents; appearance-wise, they were definitely locals, not Caucasians.
Dominic whispered, "These two seem like peripheral agents, minor roles..."
"Yes, the key question is whether they have sent out anything they captured here. If they haven't, then there's no problem."
Song Heping turned and left the ammunition depot. After stepping outside, he turned back to Jiang Feng and said, "I need a definite answer now. Find out how many days they have been surveilling here and what information they have obtained. It's important, understand?"
"Understood," Jiang Feng turned to glance at the ammunition depot and nodded, "Leave it to ."
Song Heping added, "Rember not to kill them."
"Why not eliminate them? If they're gone, no one will know they were here."
Song Heping shook his head, "That's a foolish idea. People disappearing without a trace would only make the CIA more suspicious of foul play here. They would send even more agents, and we wouldn't be able to stand guard forever. There's always a thief for a day, but never a guard for a thousand."
Jiang Feng asked, "Not to kill, nor to release, what should we do then?"
"I'll think about it."
Song Heping hadn't made up his mind yet.
He knew that these two were not easy to kill.
Killing was easy here in the mountains; dragging soone into the jungle, shooting them in the head by the riverbank, and tossing them into the river where piranhas or crocodiles would dispose of any evidence.
But eliminating these two would bring even greater trouble.
He couldn't afford to completely break with the CIA just yet; offending the bigwigs of Langley was out of the question.
Song Heping no longer wanted to handle the interrogation himself; he was exhausted from days of non-stop activity in Colombia, surviving on no more than four hours of sleep per night, sustained only by coffee. His main priority now was to get a good night's sleep to let his brain cells recover and then think about how to deal with the situation.
Returning to his room, Song Heping was so tired that he didn't even think about eating. As soon as he saw his bed, he threw himself into it and was deeply asleep within seconds.
He dreamt again.
He dreamt of his younger brother and sister and the scenic mountains and rivers of his hotown.
He dreamt of a life that was poor yet stable.
They say dreams are a reflection of the soul.
Perhaps over the past few years of living on the edge, despite earning a fair amount of money, Song Heping still yearned for peace and tranquility.
He didn't know how long he had slept when soone knocked on the door.
Knock, knock, knock—
Knock, knock, knock—
Song Heping suddenly woke from his sleep, drenched in sweat.
"Who is it?!" he asked gruffly, still irritated at his sleep being disturbed.
"It's ."
Initially annoyed, Song Heping's drowsiness totally vanished and he instantly beca alert upon recognizing the voice.
"Grey Wolf!"
He wiped his face and hurriedly got out of bed to open the door.
It was already dusk outside.
The setting sun cast a golden glow on Grey Wolf's back, rendering his features sowhat indistinct.
But Song Heping could see his bright white teeth shining in a brilliant smile.
Song Heping moved forward to embrace Grey Wolf, who leaned on his cane with one hand and wrapped the other around Song Heping's waist. The two n, reunited after a long separation, burst into hearty laughter.
Grey Wolf was very happy.
He saw Song Heping again.
Lying in a Chinese hospital for several months, Duke of Thunder had originally wanted him to rest for half a year, but Grey Wolf couldn't stay put any longer and insisted on being discharged.
After a few words of persuasion, Duke of Thunder did not stop him, saying if you're going to leave, just leave, but be careful and leave handling the formalities to us.
Within two days, all the procedures were completed.
Grey Wolf boarded a plane to Venezuela and directly rented a car to find Song Heping here.
When life is at stake, needless to say, there wouldn't be much unnecessary talk.
"I bought two bottles of wine in the duty-free shop at the airport. I haven't drunk with you for a long ti."
"Alright, tonight I'll ask the site kitchen to prepare a few more dishes, and you can slowly get to know the instructor team here. From now on, you'll be colleagues."
Song Heping took Grey Wolf's luggage and put it in his own room.
"I'll have soone arrange a room for you later. Conditions here are rather rudintary for now, so just make do. The construction should be fully completed by the end of this year, and then you'll have a suite, guaranteed to be comfortable."
"Boss, there's no need for special treatnt for . I'm not so precious lady." Grey Wolf expressed sentintally, "If it wasn't for you, I'd probably have died in Myanmar by now."
Song Heping waved his hand, "Don't talk nonsense, we rely on each other to survive."
The words 'rely on each other to survive' caused Grey Wolf's eyes to redden.
It's rare in life to find a true friend who'd face death with you, to have a friend like Song Heping, and to have a boss like him, Grey Wolf felt fortunate.
"I went back to Russia," he said. "And I also t the cook."
Song Heping smiled, "The cook is quite prestigious now, always around important people."
Grey Wolf said, "He asked to stay and work for him, but I didn't stay."
Song Heping was stunned for a mont, "Why didn't you stay?"
Grey Wolf replied, "It seems like the cook also wants to start a new rcenary Organization."
"He's creating a group again?" This was news to Song Heping; during his ti in Russia, he thought the cook was into catering, using that as a way to run other businesses, but he never expected him to go back down the military defense path.
"It seems so, he's recruiting talent," Grey Wolf said.
Song Heping asked, "Why didn't you stay then? After all, that's your holand, wouldn't it be good to work there?"
Grey Wolf shook his head, "The cook's rcenary Group will probably primarily handle operations in Africa, and I have no desire to go back to such places and risk my life."
After speaking, he looked at his leg.
Song Heping said, "Your decision is correct. Currently, you are a shareholder in the company, and if you stay at this school, you'll also get a share of dividends. Your leg is not suited for front-line duty anymore. It's better for you to stay here as a training consultant. With your combat experience combined with the instructors I've brought in, we'll surely make this school into a top private Special Soldier training school, better than the Black Water-run Gogoya Army Special Soldier School in Venezuela now."
"Right, I will definitely do my best to get the training right here," Grey Wolf looked confident.
Just then, Jiang Feng ran over.
"Old squad leader, we're done interrogating," he said.
Song Heping asked, "How did it go?"
Jiang Feng replied, "They hadn't managed to send out the photos and other materials yet. They had planned to send them after completing their reconnaissance, but we caught them first."
"That's a relief…"
Song Heping let out a slight sigh of relief.
"By the way, Jiang Feng, did you record the interrogation? And are their identities as CIA agents verified?"
"Definitely verified."
"I need solid evidence."
"Video, equipnt, contacts, and they even disclosed their operations codes and internal codes—all these can authenticate it."
"That's good,"
Song Heping thought for a mont and then took out his phone, calling Ramas.
"General, I have a big gift for you."
