"How so?"
Song Heping turned to look at Kelly.
"Are you having second thoughts?"
Kelly shook her head, "You think too little of my credibility."
Song Heping thought to himself, believing in CIA's credibility was less plausible than believing a sow could climb a tree.
After all these years, there were countless instances of the CIA betraying their own; and they talk about credibility? Did they really think they were like courtesans who sell their talents but not their bodies?
"Then, Miss, do you have anything else to say?" Song Heping watched Kelly, wondering what kind of demands this woman would make of him.
However, what he was t with wasn't a demand, but a surprise.
"I think you're talented, and we currently have a deal very suitable for you. If you're willing to be friends with us, you might be able to take on this deal."
"What kind of deal? Where is it?"
"Central Arica, xico. Are you interested?"
ntioning xico, Song Heping's mind imdiately leaped to the word "drugs".
If Colombian drug lords were considered brazen, then xican drug trafficking organizations were downright violent.
Moreover, Song Heping was well aware of the intricate relationships between the drug trafficking organizations in xico and the CIA.
Clearly, there seed to be so unpleasant developnts between them.
"As long as the money is right, of course, I'm interested."
Song Heping spread his hands, trying his best to portray himself as a money-grubber.
Kelly said, "The pay is good, 50 million US dollars."
Song Heping's eyes lit up, thinking to himself, "Wow, that's a hefty sum!"
But he quickly cald down.
Because high rewards ant high risks.
To offer him such a large sum, the job obviously wouldn't be as simple as moving bricks in xico.
"The pay is good, so it seems the job isn't easy either."
Kelly asked, "What's wrong? Scared? If you're scared, you can leave now. If you want to make this money, once you hear the details of the mission, you won't have the right to back out. Do you understand what I an?"
Song Heping raised his hand to his neck and made a throat-slitting gesture, "I understand, it's a secret, right?"
...
Song Heping returned to his speedboat, and Jiang Feng was delighted to see him.
"Boss, you have no idea how worried I was! Thankfully, you're alright!"
Song Heping said, "Start the boat, let's head back."
"Alright."
Without a second word, Jiang Feng started the engine and drove the speedboat towards Margarita Island.
After returning to the island, Song Heping imdiately convened all the company's executives, then connected with Ferrari and Henry from Illiguo via computer link.
Once everyone was assembled, he announced, "Brothers, I've taken on a job in xico, sent from Langley, and it's a no-return kind of job. Now, I need to discuss with you all how to handle it."
"Which job is it?"
From the computer screen, Ferrari, connected remotely, asked the question first.
"Weren't you supposed to be negotiating with the CIA today? Why did you take on more business? It's not CIA business, is it?"
Song Heping glanced at the Ferrari and nodded, "That's right, it was actually their idea."
On cara, Henry was the first to remind him, "CIA jobs are never easy, and their tasks are usually quite dirty. It's easy to be betrayed, and even if you get the money, it can burn you."
Song Heping said, "You may not yet understand what this deal ans. Today's negotiation with them went fairly smoothly. They agreed not to bother us about the ELN issue anymore, and from now on, they won't trouble us over this matter again…"
"They were the ones who provoked us first!"
White Bear, sitting across from him, said disdainfully, "If they hadn't sent people to surveil us, we wouldn't be in this situation today!"
Song Heping gave him a stern look, "Can you let finish?"
White Bear closed his mouth.
Song Heping continued, "This is a tie-in. You should all be aware of the considerable influence of the CIA in the Aricas, with their infiltration everywhere. I had considered whether operating our defense and arms business here might conflict with them, and as it turned out, we did get involved with them due to the ELN matter. We must understand, this isn't sothing we can avoid unless we decide not to conduct our business in Central and South Arica."
"Placing our South Arican division in Venezuela was also for this reason, to avoid them coming to us with problems, and it's proven my decision was correct. But if we were to really butt heads with them, it would do us no good. Not to ntion the military contracts we still hold with the stationed US forces in Iraq. Just take our weapon sales and military training operations here; there would definitely be a conflict of interests."
"Accepting their mission ans our interests are now tied together. Even if we're not on the sa boat, at least we'll have a channel for communication and won't have to clean up a ss that's beyond repair. It makes everyone look better on the face of things."
In conclusion, Song Heping advised aningfully, "Brothers, we run a defense company. We seek money, not strife. There's no benefit in picking a fight with the CIA. If there's a chance to sit down and talk, even to cooperate, why not do it? Besides, they're offering quite a sum this ti."
"How much?"
Jiang Feng was curious.
He was the person who went with Song Heping to negotiate, but he knew nothing about the whole process.
"Right, how much?"
"CIA those sons of bitches have funds. If they want us to risk our necks for them, we can't be too cheap!"
Everyone chid in boisterously.
Money is a wonderful thing.
Many disputes co down to money.
"Fifty million. US dollars."
Song Heping raised his voice, deliberately emphasizing the amount and currency.
"That much!"
White Bear's eyes imdiately lit up with eagerness.
Hunter agreed, "That's not too shabby."
Only Ferrari looked worried and finally expressed his concern, "With such a high price, I think there's going to be great risk. What exactly do they want us to do?"
"Take out Paricia Bartro."
Upon hearing this na, Ferrari gasped.
"FUCK!"
He swore loudly before speaking roughly, "Boss, do you know who that is?"
Song Heping asked, "That's what I have to ask you, isn't he human?"
Ferrari replied, "Human he may be, but he's like a diabolical human. He's not really the boss of a drug cartel, but he's the emperor of xico's underground transport network. No matter which drug cartel, no matter how badass they think they are, or how many cops or candidates they dare to kill, if they want to smuggle drugs into North Arica, they have to go through his network…'
Pausing there, Ferrari seed to realize sothing, his voice tinged with excitent, "It looks like the Aricans have sowhat lost control over the cartels in xico nowadays. They want to control Bartro's underground network to threaten those drug lords into obedience again!"
Song Heping said, "This mission cos with CIA assistance. They'll provide intelligence, weapons, equipnt, and their intelligence network inside xico. Everything can be arranged by us; I think that will make our operation a bit easier."
Ferrari responded, "It's not that easy. Bartro isn't easy to find. Why do you think so many people don't know his na after all these years? Because he keeps a low profile, he's not like those other showy drug dealers. He knows all too well about the tallest tree catching the most wind. I've paid attention to the intelligence over there, but even on the Dark Web, it's hard to find anything about him. I bet the CIA has so intelligence on him, but the difficulty of taking him down is too great, and they have no guarantee, that's why they're willing to pay a high price for us to tackle this tough nut!"
"We have to do it," Song Heping said. "I've already ntioned the reasons, and now that we've accepted the task, there's no reason to back out. Given the difficulty of the mission, I've decided to take it on personally."
