Now reading: Chapter 550 - 494 Opalini from Mercenaries, I Will Be King, a Action novel by Yan Qi Guan.

xico, St. Thomas City.

The sea conditions were good today, no strong winds, no big waves.

But it was cloudy, the moon hiding behind the clouds.

A dark windy night.

Perfect for committing misdeeds.

Opalini stood by the river, directing his subordinates as they handled the three tons of coca.

"Be careful, are the packages all sealed? Watch out, or I'll make you eat peanuts if there's any problem!"

Each package weighed 20 kilograms; the coca by the shore had already piled up into a mountain.

This was the cargo just unloaded from the trucks by the river.

This river was no ordinary river; about a kiloter west, it flowed into the sea.

Here, the water was about six ters deep, and three small specially made drug submarines were docked at the water's edge, each capable of carrying about a ton of cargo.

In the drug trafficking world, drug submarines were considered a high-end ans. They first appeared in the early 1990s, pioneered by the Colombian dellin drug trafficking organization as a technique for drug transportation and distribution.

At the ti, the Colombian drug traffickers well understood the economic value of vertical integration, aning they controlled different steps in the product value chain to maximize profits.

Using drug submarines controlled the delivery of drugs to their destinations while reducing the risk of being discovered, intercepted, and arrested.

For this, the drug trafficking organization had even hired Russian Navy engineers to design and build their drug submarines.

Initially, this technology was exclusive to the dellin drug trafficking organization, but as the group fell apart and the leaders of the Cali drug trafficking organization were arrested, the remaining lieutenants and their ever-growing drug organizations continued to invest in drug submarine technology, becoming increasingly diversified and sophisticated, evolving from the initial semi-subrsible to now being capable of underwater travel at depths of several ters, initially carrying only a couple hundred kilograms to now carrying half a ton or even a ton.

However, no matter how much the technology advanced, only those drug trafficking organizations with substantial financial resources could afford to use these expensive submarines for drug transport.

It took a full two hours, but the three tons of drugs were finally safely loaded onto the ship.

Opalini pulled out his phone and sent a ssage to Brody — "Miss Jenny departs by ship, arriving at the destination tomorrow evening."

After sending the ssage, Opalini breathed a sigh of relief.

His task was complete.

What remained was to see how Brody, who was already in the United States, would handle the subsequent matters.

From this deal, his boss could earn 20 million US dollars, and if rewards were given based on contributions, he himself would receive at least one hundred thousand dollars in reward.

So, he was very happy.

"Pack up everything, I'm treating you tonight. Let's go back to Kali City for a drink!"

Kali City was located on the US-xico border, only a few dozen kiloters from the border.

Being a border city, it was quite prosperous.

Especially the bars, which were a standout feature of Kali City.

After all, many Aricans sotis crossed the border here in search of amusent.

Many things illegal in Arica could be found here.

While Opalini and a few of his subordinates were reveling in the Bloody Mary Bar in Kali City, across the street outside the bar, a Chevrolet van drove into the shadow of a large tree by the roadside.

Inside the van, Song Heping turned his head and said to the others, "Check your gear, wait here, and try not to make too much noise."

Barrett glanced at the entrance of the distant bar.

Bodyguards manning the bar entrance were blatantly ard with pistols stuck directly into the belts, not even covered by clothes.

"We need to find a way to get him out without alerting anyone else; otherwise, if word gets out, Balrot will definitely notice sothing's wrong."

Song Heping agreed with Barrett's concerns and pointed at the bar, "We need to go in with two people to see if we can find an opportunity."

"I'll go," Barrett said. "My accent is authentic."

Song Heping nodded, "Alright, send one more, but I can't go in; my face is too conspicuous."

Barrett nodded, "Right, you can't go."

He looked around the van, pointing at White Bear, "You co with ."

White Bear said, "?"

Barrett responded, "Yes, you. Da Maozi are sotis seen here, but Chinese are rare. You're big; you could be useful if things get physical."

"Alright then."

White Bear didn't argue any further.

"Let's go."

Barrett opened the door of the van and turned back to Song Heping, "Keep in touch."

Song Heping responded, "Don't worry, if anything happens, signal us imdiately, and we'll storm in to save you. Be careful, try not to cause a scene."

A minute later, Barrett and White Bear walked into the bar one after the other, disappearing into the deafening music.

Upon entering the bar, Song He and Song Heping surveyed their surroundings.

The air was thick with the sll of smoke and other indescribable odors.

The bar was spacious with many tables, a T-shaped stage in the middle, and several smaller stages around it, each equipped with a pole. A seductive dancer was currently twirling around the pole, gyrating her hips and swaying her waist provocatively.

Under the pink light, everything seed so ambiguous.

The n below the stage laughed and drank, occasionally waving banknotes. The dancer would lean over, revealing her cleavage, and the n would stuff the money into her bosom.

"He's on the left, at 10 o'clock," Thomas quickly spotted Opalini and his cronies.

"Follow ." He stopped looking at them and found a table with a good vantage point to sit down.

A scantily clad waitress soon approached to take their order.

Thomas ordered a bottle of Whiskey, an ice bucket, two glasses, a plate of chips, and so grilled octopus with red sauce.

His fluent xican Spanish left the waitress without any doubt, assuming a local was hosting out-of-town friends. However, she gave White Bear a few extra glances, struck by his burly appearance.

"If he heads to the restroom later, could we catch him there? Knock him out and throw him out the window…" White Bear was eager to plan the capture.

Thomas replied, "That could work, but it might be troubleso if there are other people in there."

"We'll have to play it by ear."

Both n sat at the table, pretending to drink and snack as ti slowly passed.

By half-past ten at night, after more than thirty minutes, White Bear growled in annoyance as he watched Opalini guzzle beer, "This guy drinks so much yet doesn't need to pee; what a freaking good kidney…"

Thomas responded, "Be patient, with all that drinking, he'll definitely need the bathroom soon."

Indeed, as soon as Thomas spoke, Opalini, who was in the corner, slowly stood and began moving towards the restroom.

"The opportunity has co."

Thomas and White Bear followed him.

The restroom was located to the left of the hall, down a corridor about six ters long, then a left turn to the n's restroom.

Reaching the entrance of the corridor, Thomas said, "I'll keep watch, you go in, knock him out, and throw him out the window."

White Bear originally wanted to ask why Thomas wasn't going himself but then thought it was for safety since he couldn't communicate effectively in the local language, which would hinder him from stopping anyone from entering the restroom.

So he nodded and followed inside.

Entering the n's restroom, he first saw a sink.

Opalini was already at the urinal, one hand on the wall, the other holding his organ, casually urinating with a look of relief on his face.

When White Bear entered, Opalini gave him a glance which felt sowhat strange, causing White Bear to be taken aback.

"Did he realize sothing?"

Consequently, White Bear forced himself to urinate as well, then pretended to wash his hands at the sink.

A mont later, he stole another glance at Opalini.

Unexpectedly, he turned just in ti to see Opalini also staring back at him.

White Bear felt like he had been discovered, experiencing the unease of a thief.

Looking around, the coast was clear.

Suddenly, Thomas's voice ca through the earpiece, "Move quickly, there's no one entering from outside right now."

White Bear steeled his resolve and decided to act.

Just as he turned, he suddenly heard the sound of the door opening.

A drunk staggered out of one of the toilets, stumbled to the sink, turned on the tap, and started splashing water on his face.

Just then, another toilet door opened, and another drunken figure erged.

White Bear quickly left the restroom.

He knew this attempt had failed.

He hadn't seized the opportunity.

Perhaps acting sooner would have been better.

Upon returning outside, Thomas asked, "What happened?"

White Bear explained, "There were people inside, no chance to act."

Thomas sighed, "We'll just have to keep waiting."
