Song Heping swept his gun across the room and noticed an M4A1 assault rifle on the floor, sowhat deford though.
Lascano, blinded by the bright flashlight, instinctively reached for the M4A1 assault rifle.
Jiang Feng acted swiftly, yanking the rifle out by its stock.
"Bring two n over!"
He turned and called two soldiers from the special combat squad, dragging Lascano out of the vehicle.
While being dragged, Lascano howled like a slaughtered pig.
Both his legs were broken, a white bone protruding through the muscles of his right calf, gruesoly bloody to behold.
"Be careful, check for explosives."
The soldiers in the special combat squad were cautious, one of them directly cutting off Lascano's straps with scissors and unloading his tactical vest.
Seeing Lascano, once a fearso leader of the Los Zetas Organization, lying paralyzed on the ground like a dead dog, devoid of any ability apart from breathing, looking like a crab with its legs broken, Song Heping let out a slight sigh.
Approaching Lascano, Song Heping turned off the tactical flashlight.
Under the moonlight, Lascano could see Song Heping's face clearly.
He felt helpless and desperate.
Twice fallen into this man's hands.
After a brief face-off, Lascano seed to relax, exhaling a long breath and said with a tough deanor, "Co on, kill . We'll both end up in Hell, sooner or later…"
Before he could finish speaking, Song Heping abruptly raised his gun and pulled the trigger at his head.
Pop—
A bullet pierced through Lascano's forehead.
Blood oozed out from the back of his head like leaking oil, and he finally breathed his last.
"Sorry, I don't believe in God. Where I co from, everyone goes to the underworld."
With that, Song walked to Jiang Feng and ordered, "Shine your flashlight on his face."
Jiang Feng did as told, turning on the tactical flashlight mounted on his rifle.
Song pulled out his phone and took several close-ups of Lascano.
"Everyone evacuate imdiately, leave within three minutes!"
Staying here any longer was definitely not an option.
The explosion had been too intense.
Luckily, there were no residential buildings nearby, so no civilian casualties occurred.
But the blast must have woken everyone within a kiloter radius in the middle of the night.
Lights began to turn on in the distant buildings, and it wouldn't be long before the police would arrive.
A gunfight with the police was the last thing Song Heping wanted.
Three minutes later, everyone boarded their vehicles and left.
Calm returned to the surroundings, leaving only the scattered remains and wreckage.
At 3:00 AM, inside a conference room in a building in Victoria City, the pungent sll of smoke filled the air. Everyone present was concealed behind the smokescreen, secretly observing each other.
There were twenty-six attendees in total.
All were high-ranking officials and veterans of the Gulf Group, including respected elders of the Sanchez Family.
Spencer massaged his sore eyes, irritably opened his empty cigarette pack, crumpled it, and threw it fiercely into the trash bin.
"Have you all finished discussing? Can soone give a conclusion? We officially started the eting at ten tonight, the first round of voting claid insufficient attendance. The second round had incorrect votes and needed a re-vote. Now it's the third ti, half of you support as the new leader, yet now you demand a majority."
"Actually, it's not a majority; you've just reached half," an elder from the Sanchez Family ntioned indifferently from the corner, "According to the gang's rules, you can't be elected without a majority."
Spencer angrily retorted, "Boyle, Jean, Dick are all dead, does your Sanchez Family even have another candidate?! Who else can you choose but ?!"
"Spencer! Don't think just because you killed Boyle and the others that you can be elected so easily! It's not that easy! The Sanchez Family is not dead yet!"
Another Sanchez Family mber stood up to challenge Spencer.
"The Gulf Group has always been controlled by our Sanchez Family, it's been the rule for decades, and you're just a dog of the Sanchez Family. What gives you the right to aim for the leader's position?!"
"Yes! Our Sanchez Family isn't extinct yet!"
"Gaining power through assassination is despicable!"
"We, the Sanchez Family, do not support your rise to power!"
The mood beca heated as a chain reaction erupted in the room.
"Silence! Silence!"
Ferro, a veteran of the Gulf Group who was responsible for convening the eting, suddenly shouted, holding up a cell phone and standing before everyone.
"I just received two calls, from Rubio and Omar. They said over the phone that they support Spencer as the new leader of the Gulf Group. If anyone else is elected, they won't continue any business with the Gulf Group and will join forces with the Sinoloa Group to wage war against us!"
At this revelation, it was as if a grenade had exploded in the room, stirring noisy discussions and turning the already chaotic scene even more tumultuous.
Ferro shouted, "Silence! Think about it, whether you choose Spencer or insist on the Sanchez Family controlling the Gulf Group. Think for ten minutes, then we will vote again."
"We're tired! We want to go ho!"
Nora, an elder of the Sanchez Family, protested loudly, "You suddenly convened a voting eting today, and Boyle and the other two were conveniently killed at the sa ti! These are all your tactics! You just want to elect a leader tonight, but it's not possible! We have the right to rest first, return in three days after the Sanchez Family has selected a new candidate for the election, then we can vote!"
"That's unfair!"
"It's a deliberate setup!"
"We want to go ho! Why keep voting tonight? It's almost dawn!"
Bang—
As the Sanchez Family elders and their supporters were causing a commotion, Spencer pulled out his handgun and fired a shot into the ceiling.
"If we can't choose tonight, no one leaves!"
After a brief silence, Nora sneered, "Spencer, do you know what you're doing? Do you think by killing us, the mbers of the Sanchez Family here, you can take over the boss position of the Gulf Group? Even if you kill us, we still have our family's influence in dozens of cities across two states. They will fight you to the death! Furthermore, if you dare to do this, we will join forces with Lascano to deal with you!"
"Yeah! Dare to kill us!"
"You bastard! Brandishing a gun to scare us, huh?!"
"Damn, he brought a gun! Clearly, he's threatening us!"
Suddenly, the situation spiraled out of control again.
Spencer's face turned livid, and his gun-wielding hand began to tremble slightly.
It wasn't out of fear, but because he felt his blood boiling and was about to lose control of himself.
Looking at the arrogant elders of the Sanchez Family before him, Spencer really wanted to go up and send a bullet to each of their foreheads, sending them to et God!
But Nora was right, if he killed them, the Sanchez Family would definitely start a war against him, and they would definitely lean towards Lascano.
Dealing with Lascano was already troubleso enough, let alone dealing with the Sanchez Family, forcing Spencer to restrain his rage.
"Who said anything about needing Lascano?"
The eting room door was pushed open.
Song Heping stood at the doorway, followed by Rubio and Omar.
Everyone's gaze fell on him, and their hearts skipped a beat seeing his combat uniform.
Song Heping walked directly to the center of the eting hall, his gaze sweeping over the Sanchez Family mbers who had just been shouting.
Then he turned to ask Spencer, "You've been dealing with these old guys all night and still haven't settled them?"
"Who are you?!"
Nora suddenly reacted.
"This is Gulf Group's territory, who the hell do you think you are?!"
Song Heping walked up to Nora, sizing up the old man in front of him, estimating he was soone with a high status in the Sanchez Family.
So he introduced himself, "My surna is Song, nad Song Heping. I am a person who loves peace, and I have co to bring you peace. Don't you want it?"
The na Song Heping had recently beco very familiar to everyone present, and to say it was well-known would be an understatent.
Ever since Song entered xico and began making moves, everything that had happened seed unclearly linked to him.
Moreover, it was said that he had captured Lascano alive but then released him, which led to Sanchez's paranoia, ultimately leading to Sanchez being killed in a hail of bullets.
Nora gloomily said, "Kid, this is xico, not Asia, not the United States, this isn't your turf."
Song Heping stepped forward, almost nose to nose with Nora, his gaze intensely fixed on the other, then he asked in a deep voice, "Was it you who just said you'd ally with Lascano to deal with Spencer?"
Nora felt an intense murderous aura and, despite being an old hand, he still felt sowhat unable to resist it.
He suddenly noticed the green combat uniform on Song Heping had bloodstains.
Small speckles of blood stains, like splatters, still quite fresh.
"It was who said it, what can you do about it!"
The old hand still showed toughness, old but not lacking in backbone.
Song Heping didn't speak, took out his mobile phone, turned it on, then clicked on the photo gallery, bringing up a picture.
"Are you sure you want to ally with Lascano?"
Then he lifted the photo to Nora's face.
Nora's face, which had been flushed with anger, suddenly turned as white as wax.
A bead of sweat slowly rolled down his cheek from his temple.
He didn't speak, but soone behind him saw the image in the photo.
"It's Lascano! He's dead!"
This exclamation, unlike the ones before, did not stir a reaction.
Everyone's gaze sharply focused on the phone.
Song Heping deliberately raised the phone high, making sure everyone could clearly see.
Then he asked Nora again, "Before he died, he said he'd go to Hell first; do you want to follow along and talk about your cooperation there?"
Bang—
Before the words finished, a gunshot rang out.
Nora, clutching his chest, staggered backward two steps, then fell backwards, blood gushing from his chest.
After struggling to breathe a few tis, Nora indeed went to Hell.
"My ti is precious. Back to the previous question, who else wants to ally with Lascano? Who else?"
No one dared to speak at the scene.
Their breathing even lightened.
Everyone started being extrely cautious, afraid of provoking the killer in front of them.
Lascano was dead.
Definitely killed by Song Heping.
With Song showing up here tonight, that ant he was supporting Spencer, no need to ask.
The Sanchez Family mbers suddenly had a light bulb mont.
The deaths of Boyle, Jean, and Dick were probably also linked to Song.
In one night, so many fierce characters had been taken down.
This demoralized the Sanchez Family mbers instantly.
"I think..."
Finally, an elder from the Sanchez Family stood out.
"Rules are for the dead, and we are alive; it's not unacceptable for Spencer to be the boss..."
Song Heping closed his phone, smirked, gave Spencer a look, then walked straight out of the eting hall.
