The scorching heat twisted into transparent ripples among the bushes as Song Heping and Jiang Feng split up, advancing from the flanks.

They were both trained in the sa military unit and had fought side by side through nurous battles. Their teamwork was seamless and flawless.

Encircling a more powerful force is a highly risky maneuver.

Thus, it required suddenness and the best position.

Flanking from both sides and the front to form a semi-circular funnel, followed by intersecting firepower to resolve the situation swiftly.

Three pickup trucks, totaling less than twenty ard militants.

For a top-tier veteran special forces operative like Song Heping, it was a piece of cake.

Even Mossad commandos would falter before Song Heping.

Let alone local rebels and ard factions in Sudan?

Soon, Song Heping had maneuvered into position, using the cover of nearby bushes and trees.

Jiang Feng also quickly entered the designated attack position.

Everything was ready, only missing the crucial elent.

The crucial elent being the sound of Song Heping's gunshot.

His finger lightly caressed the handguard of the Type 56 assault rifle.

Forty ters away, six gunn dressed in mismatched camouflage surrounded Ah Guan and Boss Hou, punching and kicking them, shouting at them to hand over the goods.

The goods?

What goods?

Under the fierce sunlight, Boss Hou's sun-darkened face turned pale with fright. He trembled as he took a bag out of his pocket and handed it over.

The leading black gunman snatched the bag, poured out its contents, and picked up one item, squinting at it in the sunlight.

The tiny object glimred in his two black fingers, emitting a unique radiance in the sunlight.

Though not overly dazzling, Song Heping recognized it imdiately.

An unpolished pink diamond!

"Damn it!"

Song Heping thought, no wonder Ah Guan and Boss Hou were being hunted.

Possessing valuable goods without the ans to protect them leads to trouble.

These pink diamonds had considerable market value.

And who knows where they acquired them.

The leading black gunman grinned, revealing a mouthful of white teeth as he put the pink diamond back into the bag and stepped back two paces...

Seeing this, Song Heping knew he had to act imdiately.

If he didn't make a move, Ah Guan and Boss Hou were dood.

Indeed, one of the black gunn stepped forward, brandishing his gun at Ah Guan's head.

Bang, bang—

The gunshot did not co from the advancing black gunman's weapon.

But his head exploded.

Because Song Heping fired first.

Bang, bang, bang—

Jiang Feng imdiately followed suit.

"Take them down!"

Song Heping began firing rapid shots.

All six black gunn fell to the ground in less than three seconds.

They couldn't even comprehend where the bullets had co from.

The other black gunn on and around the three pickup trucks, feeling confident in their victory, hadn't taken any precautions. They were either sitting in the trucks, leaning against the sides smoking, or chewing khat.

They never expected the Grim Reaper to arrive so suddenly.

As they heard the gunfire and saw their comrades fall, they scrambled to grab the automatic rifles hanging around them.

One even dropped his cigarette onto his clothes, burning himself and grimacing in pain.

"Crossfire! Now!"

Song Heping shouted.

Fire points on both sides of the road and from the direction of the junkyard erupted simultaneously, creating a perfect crossfire angle, mowing down the gunn like wheat.

Ah Guan seized the mont, pulling Boss Hou into the ditch beside the road. A few of the gunn who had been killed nearby had their brain matter splattered all over him, but he couldn't bother to clean it off...

Slling the pungent sulfur as bullets whizzed over his head...

Less than three minutes later.

The gunfire ceased.

Ah Guan and Hou Xing lay in the ditch.

"Did you hear... the gunfire has stopped?" Hou Xing asked.

"I think so..." Ah Guan replied.

"Let's run, let's dive in here and run over there..." Hou Xing pointed to the nearby bushes.

"It's likely another group of people committed a heist for diamonds; let's leave the diamonds and run!"

Hou Xing suddenly beca ten tis more agile, crawling into the bushes with hands and feet.

He didn't care about the thorns and brambles scratching his face and hands, puncturing his flesh; all he could think about was escaping.

As he and Ah Guan crawled through several ters of dense bushes, they suddenly saw a pair of Salomon shoes ahead.

"We're finished..."

Hou Xing's vision darkened, nearly fainting.

Out of the wolf's den, into the tiger's den...

"Ah Guan, what are you crawling for? Stand up and talk! It's !"

A voice with a slight chuckle spoke in perfect Mandarin.

Hou Xing and Ah Guan nearly fainted from joy.

Looking up, Ah Guan saw a familiar face.

"Song... Heping?"

Ah Guan's authentic Beijing accent trembled.

"I'm not dreaming... right? It's really you!?"

Song Heping grabbed his hand and pulled him up.

"It's , Ah Guan!"

"Good brother!"

Ah Guan suddenly hugged Song Heping.

Song Heping felt Ah Guan's surging emotions.

The man, nearly forty, cried like a helpless child on Song Heping's shoulder.

"I really thought I was going to die. What would my mother do... sob sob... Don't laugh at , brother. I almost peed my pants... sob sob..."

"Alright, alright, it's okay now."

Song Heping comforted Ah Guan, patting him gently on the shoulder.

"You're not dreaming, and you're not dead. I happened to pass by here. It's fate; we are destined brothers."

"Help... Help ..."

As the two embraced, they heard Boss Hou's wailing from the ground.

"He's been shot!"

Jiang Feng examined Boss Hou, who was lying on his back, unable to get up.

Boss Hou pressed a handkerchief against his bleeding thigh.

Earlier, while trying to escape, Boss Hou hadn't noticed he'd been hit by a stray bullet. Though the six black gunn surrounding the Toyota SUV didn't have ti to retaliate, one of them had managed to pull the trigger as he fell, firing a burst of stray bullets...

"Damn! No hemostatic belt!" Jiang Feng cursed, searching his pockets.

"What should we do?!" Ah Guan panicked, crouching beside Boss Hou, giving a pleading look to Song Heping. "Brother Hou is a good brother; please save him!"

Song Heping instructed Jiang Feng, "Go find the guide. I asked him to take three first aid kits before departure; they're in the car!"

"Got it!"

Jiang Feng sprinted towards the junkyard as fast as he could.

Song Heping crouched beside Boss Hou, using a Butterfly Knife to cut open his trouser leg.

Blood was pooling around the thigh. Song Heping took the handkerchief from Boss Hou's hands and wiped it lightly.

Boss Hou scread like a pig being slaughtered.

Upon seeing the wound, Song Heping frowned.

"The blood loss is severe... I hope it's not an artery..."

Boss Hou suddenly grabbed Song Heping's wrist, his Rolex Daytona watch face cracked like cobwebs from the earlier collision and run.

"Mr. Song, I have a small gold mine in North Darfur. Please save . If you save , I'll give you the gold mine..."
