Battle buffer zone, Kodok Town, field hospital.
This is a temporary dical facility set up by the governnt army and the closest field dical station to the Machar Swamp.
Several white armored vehicles marked with "UN" drove up to the door, the screeching brakes filled with anxiety.
Captain Charles leapt out of the vehicle and shouted at the bewildered dical personnel standing at the door, "Get so people here! We have wounded who need urgent treatnt!"
"Who are you people?"
One of the doctors noticed sothing amiss.
Although they were driving UN vehicles, their attire was completely rcenary-like. Typically, UN troops have strict dress codes during missions, including blue helts and blue bulletproof vests.
However, the ones in front of him were in black combat uniforms, faces sared with camouflage paint, unlike any UN Peacekeeping Forces.
"We are with the UN!"
Captain Charles roared, "We were attacked by ard elents during our mission, many are injured and need imdiate dical attention, gather all your dical resources to treat our n!"
The doctor had never seen such rude and impolite UN troops, he instantly beca suspicious.
"You..."
"What do you an by you? Hurry up!"
Captain Charles turned around, seeing several wounded being carried from the armored vehicles and lying on the ground moaning, he beca furious and swiftly drew a handgun from his waist, cocked it, and pointed it at the doctor's forehead.
"If any of my brothers have any issues, believe it or not, I'll blow your brains out right here!"
"Alright, alright..."
Being threatened with a cold gun barrel to his temple, the doctor felt an imdiate urge to pee.
"Why are you still standing there, push the stretcher over!"
He had no choice but to turn around and shout at the nurses watching the scene, "Notify the duty physician, all dical staff to the ergency room."
Seeing the doctor comply, Captain Charles finally showed a bit of satisfaction, put away the gun, and said, "Use your best doctors, act quickly, if my n die here, I'll make you pay!"
This remark made the doctor even more suspicious of these individuals' identities.
But in this war-torn region, anything could happen.
He dared not ask further questions.
Keeping his life was the most practical option.
Seeing his n being pushed into the ergency room, Captain Charles finally breathed a sigh of relief, then he rembered Song Heping.
"Damn China people!"
Thinking he was so close to killing Song Heping, but a UN marked helicopter suddenly appeared, Charles imdiately took out his phone to contact his high-level informant within the UN forces.
"Colonel Hart, we have a situation here."
"What situation?"
Colonel Hart on the other end of the call was instantly shaken.
After all, all fake UN identities used by the "Satan" rcenaries were orchestrated by him, the deploynt of the UN helicopter for their rapid transport was a private arrangent he made.
It's fine as long as things go smoothly, but if sothing goes wrong, the executives above would definitely make him take the fall.
Thus, he couldn't sleep a wink tonight, answered the call in re seconds, and now hearing that there's trouble, Colonel Hart felt his heart race.
"Our operation failed!"
Captain Charles gritted his teeth, "That Song guy isn't dead!"
"He isn't dead!?"
Colonel Hart jumped out of bed.
"He escaped!? How could this happen? Wasn't this supposed to be a small operation? Did he see the helicopter?"
"Look at you, coward!"
Captain Charles sneered, "We rely borrowed your helicopter for rapid deploynt, how could he possibly see it? But there's one thing you must clarify, we had Song surrounded, but suddenly a UN flying squadron MI-8 helicopter appeared from above, people on board fired at us using aircraft weapons, killed several of our n, under such circumstances I could only command a retreat, Song got away!"
He tried to bla it all on the sudden appearance of the UN helicopter, without ntioning the losses earlier to Song Heping.
"UN has internal informants for Song!? How could he have air support, and from your UN flying squadron's aircraft!"
Charles implied a tone of accountability.
Hart's mind buzzed.
If Song Heping was killed, things would be easier.
Even if using UN helicopter was discovered, it could be justified as mission execution, after all, Song Heping was recognized as a terrorist by the UN, listed in their blacklist.
But now he escaped.
And another UN aircraft appeared.
Charles said UN has internal informants for Song...
If Charles wasn't lying, if there's indeed an informant, Song Heping would know of all Hart's private actions.
Big trouble...
"Wait!"
He suddenly rembered sothing critical.
"You said the helicopter model that rescued Song is MI-8?"
"That's right!"
"It's African Union Peacekeeping Forces' helicopter!"
Colonel Hart suddenly recalled.
In this flying squadron, African Union deployed MI-8, only they had that model, others brought MI-171 and MI-17, aning soone in African Union was aiding Song Heping.
"I'll investigate this, rest assured. But what's your next step plan now?"
"We're pulled back, sending injured brothers to Kodok hospital for treatnt, then I'll return to Machar Swamp to rendezvous with ard forces there, and kill them all before Song crosses the border..."
"Wait!"
Hart caught the implication in Charles's words.
"You an for to arrange another flight for you guys?"
"Exactly, otherwise I can't reach there before Song crosses the border!" Charles said vehently, "He must die tonight..."
"You're insane! This matter has blown up, you want to arrange another flight for you? You think I'm not exposed enough already? If African Union Peacekeepers have internal informants for Song, my situation is extrely dangerous! I can't risk it for you anymore!"
Colonel Hart now viewed Charles and his n like plague and wanted nothing to do with it.
"Colonel, planning to cut ties?" Charles mocked, "Can you cut ties? Don't forget, you're one of us already."
"You're threatening ..."
"Not threatening you, but..."
Before he finished.
Hart suddenly heard gunshots from the other end.
Then heard Charles yelling, "Disperse! Disperse!"
"Hello, hello?! What's going on!?"
Hart eagerly inquired Charles.
But he got no response.
Gunshots continued, seemingly intense firefight, Charles's voice persisted but he was directing combat, no ti for Hart.
He quickly hung up, sat on the edge of the bed, heart pounding fiercely, mouth dry, grabbed a bottle of mineral water on the table and gulped half down.
"Caught in trouble... What now..."
Suddenly realized rely hanging up wouldn't solve anything.
If Charles got in trouble, his phone falls into enemy hands, all communication records exposed, including contacts with him.
If attackers were Song Heping...
"Disastrous..."
Dared not further ponder.
Following this logic, the situation was terrible.
