"We can't hold on any longer! We're about to collapse!"
Song Heping's situation wasn't looking good either.
Ferrari started to complain over the channel.
"The gun barrel is glowing red, it'll be ruined if we keep firing!"
"Don't you know how to piss? Piss on the barrel to cool it down!"
Antonov finally found a chance to mock Ferrari.
"You don't know this, of course, you're just a desk jockey!"
"You Siberian black bear, tell , how am I supposed to control the car, fire, and piss at the sa ti?!"
The two started arguing over the radio channel.
Antonov was still bitter about Ferrari's bullet landing on his tactical vest and scalding him almost out of his skin.
So whenever he got the chance, he would ridicule Ferrari.
Now he finally got his opportunity.
"Stop arguing! Do you know what ti it is now? You still have the mind to quarrel here?!"
Song Heping interrupted the pair of jokers.
Sotis he really wondered about his subordinates' audacity.
To put it bluntly, the few of them were being violently attacked by two companies, trapped in a lowland by the swamp on the edge of the forest, and one false move could cost them their lives.
Yet these guys still had the mood to tease each other?
What an oddball group.
But on second thought, it wasn't that surprising.
If it weren't for these subordinates, who would dare stand with him against Mossad and the CIA, who would dare raid a rebel camp with just a dozen people?
He wasn't normal himself, so he couldn't demand normalcy from these core team mbers.
"Listen up!"
Song Heping suddenly noticed the gunfire around them had started to thin out.
"Ferrari, what can you see from the car?! The gunfire is weakening! Are they starting to retreat?!"
"Not retreating, but I see fewer people. They might've moved so forces to deal with Jiang Feng's group?"
The observation instrunts on the UN armored vehicle were complete, and the field of vision and observation range was much larger than that of Song Heping's group.
Ferrari's answer made the three in the lowland breathe a sigh of relief.
"Stop lying in the mud, it's ti for our counterattack."
Song Heping patted Antonov and gestured to Disaster Star.
"Let's take advantage of them reallocating forces and fight back!"
"Counterattack?"
"Yes!"
Song Heping pointed ahead.
"While they have fewer people, tear open a gap here, break through. I guess Damal is in the middle of the wings, probably in that forest across. Let's get him! Queen, et up with Ferrari in the armored vehicle. Follow us when we move, providing fire support as needed."
"No problem!"
Queen couldn't see many enemies in the scope anymore.
The enemy was reallocating forces.
Song Heping's counterattack was swift. Without the onslaught of overwhelming forces, they were able to catch their breath. Disaster Star's machine gun quickly started playing its deadly symphony again.
Damal made a fatal mistake in command, frequently reallocating engaged troops during front-line battles. If he had deployed just his personal guard to reinforce the left flank to handle Jiang Feng's raid, it would have sufficed for the mont, and focusing his troops to attack Song Heping's group with full force for a quick victory had a high chance of success.
But he was too afraid of death.
Fear of death led to the wrong decisions.
Damal was never willing to let his guards enter the fight, choosing instead to pull a company from the two companies encircling Song Heping to support the left flank.
The two companies had already suffered heavy casualties and had pushed to within just thirty or forty ters of where Song Heping's group was hiding in the lowland.
At this mont, pulling one company out made the remaining company's rebel soldiers imdiately panic.
Disaster Star's machine gun sprayed bullets like water, mowing down the hesitant soldiers like weeds, who were unsure about continuing their desperate assault.
The promising situation suddenly reversed.
A few hundred ters away, Colonel Damal's earpiece was filled with chaotic shouts and intense gunfire. Sweat beaded on his forehead as he clutched the communicator tightly, his knuckles turning white.
"Colonel! The left flank can't hold! They have machine gun fire pinning us down, our troops are stuck behind cover!"
His subordinates were pleading for help over the channel.
"I demand the reserve troops be deployed, your guards can be sent to the left flank, without moving the right-wing troops."
"Incompetent! Do you need to teach how to do my job?!" Damal roared. "Have the mortar team blow up that armored vehicle for !"
"Colonel... our artillery positions..."
The subordinate hesitated, "They were taken out at the start..."
"Damn it..."
Damal's pupils contracted, and his heart pounded wildly.
Only then did he suddenly rember, the first target the attacking enemies took out was the artillery positions...
He abruptly turned his gaze towards the direction of the lowland—where Song Heping's group had been besieged, now eerily quiet.
"Damn it... fell into the trap!"
A heavy sense of crisis surged from the depths of his heart.
Looking at the surrounding swollen night, Damal suddenly had the urge to flee.
On the left flank battlefield, Henry was driving the armored vehicle while Hunter was already inside controlling the machine gun, coordinating with Jiang Feng's group for the assault.
"Boom—"
The UN armored vehicle's 12.7mm heavy machine gun spewed fire, sending bullets sweeping across the rebel positions like a steel storm.
The rebel soldiers were pinned down, unable to lift their heads. Several trying to retaliate were quickly shot down with precise strikes as soon as they poked out.
"Colonel! The enemies on the right flank have disappeared, that side has also been breached! It looks like they have flanked around from the side!"
"What?!"
Damal's face went pale.
"Damn it... damn it!"
He raged into the communicator, "Everyone, fall back and protect the command center!"
But it was already too late.
"Boom!"
A 40mm grenade exploded near the command center, sending shrapnel flying, and several staff officers fell, wailing in agony.
"Sniper! There's a sniper!" The adjutant barely got the words out before Queen's second bullet pierced through his throat.
Damal clumsily flattened himself on the ground, the gunfire and his soldiers' screams drawing nearer.
With trembling hands, he took out his pistol but didn't know where to aim—the enemy seed to rge with the darkness, their positions unknown, while his own forces had completely collapsed.
Repeated troop reallocations caused the defensive line to break and collapse. The resulting domino effect led to most soldiers losing control and retreating.
"Co back! You idiots! We have a battalion, they only have a few n!"
He impotently roared, cursing into the channel.
But it was no use, not making any difference.
The shortcomings of African ard organizations and rebel forces were fully exposed.
Once a retreat began, it followed the domino effect pattern.
No one could stop it.
Damal had completely lost the will to fight. He waved a hand to his guards, "We're withdrawing! Get to the vehicles and return to the main base!"
With that, he started running towards the parked vehicles, faster than a rabbit, surrounded by his guards.
In battle, Damal wasn't proficient, but when it ca to fleeing, his long legs were unmatched by anyone.
