1185: Chapter One Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Eight: Building Montum 1185: Chapter One Thousand One Hundred Sixty-Eight: Building Montum Morgan had already chosen the person to introduce him to, and that person was Cecil, the host.

This cocktail party was a gathering of upper-class individuals and an excellent networking opportunity.

As the host, Cecil’s guest list certainly wouldn’t include mutual enemies.

Following Morgan, Gao Yang approached Cecil, who had stopped receiving guests by then and was chatting rrily with people.

Seeing Morgan and Gao Yang approaching, Cecil quickly left his group, nodded towards them, and then the three of them walked towards Will, who was also engaged in conversation.

The Wilpen is a family, and the New York ts belong to Fred Welpen.

As for the chief operating officer of the New York ts, he also bears the surna Welpen.

Attending the cocktail party today was none other than the owner of the New York ts, Fred Welpen.

When Gao Yang and the others approached Fred, Fred imdiately stopped his conversation, raised his glass, and smiled at Cecil, “Thank you for the cocktail party, Cecil.”

It was apparent that Fred Welpen and Cecil were well acquainted.

Cecil smiled, pointed at Morgan, and said, “Fred, let introduce a friend of mine, this is Morgan Reeves.”

Fred instantly made an expression of long-awaited admiration, extended his hand towards Morgan, and said loudly, “Mr.

Reeves, I’m very pleased to et you, I’ve long admired your reputation.”

Morgan and Fred shook hands with smiles on their faces, Morgan spoke in a deep voice, “Likewise, Mr.

Welpen, it’s a pleasure to et you.”

After Morgan and Fred had shaken hands, Cecil pointed toward Gao Yang, “This is Gao Yang, Mr.

Gao.”

Fred shook hands with Gao Yang, smiling, “Mr.

Gao, it’s a pleasure to et you.”

After exchanging a few customary pleasantries and recognizing each other, Cecil smiled and said, “Fred, there’s sothing you must help with, no, actually, it’s not so much helping as it is helping yourself.”

Fred imdiately assud an interested deanor and laughed, “Oh, please tell, I’m all ears.”

Fred adopted a listening posture, and Cecil gestured toward Morgan and Gao Yang to indicate that they were together, then laughed, “Better to let them speak for themselves.”

Morgan raised his glass slightly, while Gao Yang chuckled, “It’s like this, I have a friend who is a baseball prodigy.

He has the talent to enter Major League Baseball, and he has been a loyal fan of the New York ts since childhood.

I would like to ask Mr.

Welpen to provide an opportunity.

If you could let my friend take a trial training, I would be very grateful.”

Fred laughed heartily, “This indeed would be doing a favor.

If a prodigy were to join the ts, I’d be more than willing.

However, I have always refrained from interfering with any specific affairs of the team.”

It was clear from Fred’s smile that it was a polite refusal; just because Gao Yang said his friend was a genius didn’t an other people would believe it.

Baseball is a mainstream sport in Arica, and there are plenty of children from wealthy families playing it.

Fred, as a team owner, likely receives similar requests all the ti and is accustod to it.

Saying since childhood he’s a ts fan is even more far-fetched; if soone wanted to play for the ts, they couldn’t possibly say they’re a Yankees fan.

Gao Yang felt slightly disappointed, thinking Fred might not directly offer a trial opportunity.

But after Fred expressed his difficulty in managing team matters, he imdiately waved his hand and shrugged, “But since Mr.

Reeves and Senior Gao have ntioned it, I must make an exception.”

Fred was clearly waiting to curry favor with Morgan.

Morgan lifted his glass slightly, chuckling, “Thank you very much for making an exception.”

Gao Yang also smiled, “That’s great, my friend will be over the moon.

But I’m confident that his performance won’t disappoint you.”

Fred laughed, “Don’t ntion it, it’s a trifle.

If your friend is truly a genius, then you’re helping .

On that note, I need to ask where your friend has trained?”

After speaking, Fred shrugged and spread his hands to the crowd, “I am a fan, you see.

Since we’ve broached the subject, I need to learn about a potential genius player who might join the ts, right?”

Gao Yang chuckled, “My friend, he hasn’t undergone professional training, but he is very talented, um, he’s loved baseball since he was young and has consistently practiced.”

Upon hearing Gao Yang hadn’t received professional training, there was a subtle change in Fred’s expression, showing so skepticism.

Gao Yang wanted to ntion Frey’s pitching speed, but he didn’t get the chance as Fred raised his hand, still smiling, “It’s alright, there have been players who beca gastars without professional training.

A trial will be arranged for your friend.

As for the timing, when would be suitable for you?”

Gao Yang promptly said, “Tomorrow would be fine; anyti works.”

Fred nodded solemnly and said, “Alright, Mr.

Gao, I’ll give you a phone number.

You just call this number tomorrow and ask for Jeff Welpen, the Chief Operating Officer of the team.

I’ll have him take care of this matter.”

Without pen and paper, Gao Yang morized a landline number by heart, then smiled at Fred saying, “Thank you very much, Mr.

Welpen.”

After expressing gratitude, Gao Yang stood aside and said no more, while Morgan, Fred, and Cecil continued their amiable conversation.

After a while, the three of them left together.

Once they had left Fred behind, Cecil said with a smile, “Forgive my frankness, Mr.

Gao, but in New York, the vast majority of people are Yankees fans.

Why don’t you try to get your friend to join the Yankees?

I would be happy to introduce you to the owner of the New York Yankees, oh, but you don’t need my help for that, right Morgan?”

Morgan shrugged and said, “Gao isn’t lying; his friend is indeed a fan of the New York ts.

If it were about joining the Yankees, that would have been easy.”

Cecil, looking regretful, said, “Actually, I’m a Yankees fan too, Gao.

If your friend is truly a talent, I still suggest he tries out for the Yankees.

The New York Yankees, what a great team.

You should recomnd your friend to the Yankees, at least for a tryout or sothing.

Who knows, he may change his mind.”

Gao Yang was tempted by the suggestion; not because he thought Frey would change his mind, but because it seed like a chance for Frey to have an extra opportunity to practice.

If the tryouts at the New York ts didn’t go well, there would be another opportunity.

And if Frey did well in the tryouts, that would be even better.

After all, if both teams wanted him and competed for him, the treatnt Frey could get would certainly be different.

Gao Yang imdiately said, “If a tryout with the New York Yankees is easy to arrange, then of course it would be good for him to give it a try.

But is it feasible?”

Morgan shrugged, while Cecil chuckled, “Sure, it’s very feasible.

It can be arranged anyti, much more convenient than trying out for the New York ts.

I’ll arrange it for you.

Lucky for you, I’m a Yankees fan.”

Cecil and Morgan had a good relationship; their conversation was not so formal.

Morgan laughed and said, “Great, then I’ll count on you for this favor.”

Cecil left cheerfully, and by this ti, the important guests had all arrived.

Morgan whispered to Gao Yang, “Let’s go, now it’s ti to et the people you really ought to get to know.”

Looking around, Morgan led Gao Yang towards a middle-aged man surrounded by four or five people.

Upon approaching the group, the middle-aged man laughed heartily and said, “Hey, Morgan, Gao, where have you been?

I didn’t see you guys.”

Morgan too responded with a laugh, “I was just talking to a friend.”

The man Morgan was speaking to was Jonathan, a senior senator representing New York State.

Gao Yang understood why Morgan said Jonathan would be amiable towards him.

Though Gao had never t Jonathan before—having only heard his na for the first ti that evening—Jonathan greeted him and Morgan directly.

After the greetings, Jonathan imdiately exclaid with delight to Gao Yang, “Hey, Gao, I didn’t expect you to be here tonight.

It’s a pleasant surprise to see you at this event.

You’re not in a hurry to leave this ti, right?”

Polite and courteous greetings were too common at the reception.

Everyone wore that sa kind of face.

To address soone so enthusiastically by na usually indicated a certain level of friendliness.

Jonathan’s deanor was more than friendly towards Gao Yang.

His use of Gao Yang’s na and the attitude he showed made everyone feel that he was well-acquainted and in good standing with Gao.

Although this was also Jonathan’s first ti eting Gao, so this wasn’t about Morgan’s base expressing amiability toward Gao, rather it was about creating a favorable montum for him.

Gao Yang inwardly sighed to himself, noting Morgan’s unwavering support.

With Jonathan openly creating montum for him, Gao Yang certainly knew how to proceed.

He raised his glass in a gesture that said he wasn’t in a rush this ti, rather than engaging in the usual pleasantries of a first-ti encounter.

Jonathan imdiately replied with a smile, “Good, if you have ti, let’s go golfing.

Oh, let introduce everyone.

This is Morgan Reeves, and this is Gao Yang.

Get to know each other.”

If they were to create montum for Gao Yang, it certainly wouldn’t be in circles where Morgan was particularly familiar or among his steadfast allies.

If that were the case, Morgan himself would have taken charge of the promotion.

Now Gao Yang could be certain of one thing: Morgan and Jonathan were special allies.

Their relationship was good enough for Jonathan to create montum for Gao.

After so idle conversation and introductions, Gao Yang got acquainted with several prominent figures.

With Morgan and Jonathan creating montum for him, the effect was bound to be extraordinary.

By the end of the evening, he had collected a stack of business cards.

After a night of lively conversation, Gao’s face was aching from smiling.

Finally, the reception ended, and Gao Yang and Morgan left in the sa car.

As the car started to move, Gao Yang couldn’t help but say, “Morgan, is it aningful to start creating montum for so early?

Could it be too soon?”

Morgan, who also appeared tired after getting back into the car, gave a slight smile and replied, “This was just an opportunity for you to get a taste, so consider it a small stage to practice on.

Most of the people you t today were from the finance sector; the ones who can really help your career, you haven’t t yet.” (To be continued.
