Chapter 1496: Chapter 1477: Surfacing

Gao Yang is indeed interested in hearing what business Natebao’s people can bring him. Making money is secondary; the key is to show presence. Business in Ukraine can only be done by him, Djo must step aside, it’s a matter of principle.

Nate waved his hand, smiling, “What they can provide, to be honest, is quite limited, and there’s no chance of seeing profits in the short term, but you can gain a force that listens to your orders, and have a faction of your own in the future official governnt of Ukraine. What you need to give them are weapons, funds, and a position. They need support to gain a voice. With Grand Ivan’s influence, achieving this is no problem at all.”

Gao Yang shook his head, “Give sothing real; don’t use this ethereal stuff to fool . Help a new Nazi ard group? You think I’m an idiot? You use them as cannon fodder, then dust off your hands and leave, and I take over like a fool?”

After speaking, Gao Yang dismissively waved his hand, “If Djo would agree to this condition, that would be strange. Even if planning for the future, cultivating one’s own power, no one would be foolish enough to choose a new Nazi-leaning ard group, right? They’re nothing but trouble, can’t get rid of them once you’re involved, too late to escape. I give them money, give them guns, just for the chance they might have a place in the New Governnt of Ukraine to speak for ? F**k, you cannot insult my intelligence!”

Nate Schumacher spread his hands, looked at Gao Yang with a face full of helplessness, “Djo was interested, but the representative he sent for negotiations was taken down by you. You ruined my big deal, now you have to compensate sohow, right?”

Gao Yang waved his hand dismissively, “You spare that spiel. I said, don’t insult my intelligence. You say Djo is interested? Pah! If Djo was interested, you would have reached an agreent long ago and left. Would you have been taken down by instead?”

After speaking, Gao Yang said earnestly to Nate, “Buddy, if you want to be a scher, you have to pay so price. You can’t expect to snatch a wolf with a bare hand, right? Do you understand what this ans? I’m saying, you have to offer real gold and silver. To cultivate cannon fodder, you have to do it yourself. Asking arms dealers to help you for free, do you think that’s possible?”

Nate glanced at Gao Yang, then shook his head, “You change quickly. So, not planning to be a rcenary anymore, actually changing to arms dealer in the future?”

Gao Yang laughed, “Part-ti, being an arms dealer is just part-ti.”

Nate sighed, “Right now the situation hasn’t reached the level I want, it’s hard to get weapons. So, help out, I’ll buy weapons from you, I’ll pay you, then you help set up a brigade. I want command over a brigade, get my people inserted, replace all the officers from top to bottom with my people, can you do it?”

Wanting cannon fodder, so price needs to be paid. Hearing Nate’s words, Gao Yang laughed and said lightly, “You pay out of your own pocket?”

Nate shrugged, “Dealing with arms dealers only talks about money. I thought you were different from the ordinary arms dealers, but it turns out you’re a typical arms dealer, and it’s only been a few days. Yes, I’m paying out of my own pocket. Now, just tell if you can do it.”

Gao Yang smiled, “Yes, of course, it’s just a matter of saying the word. But before we discuss this business, I want to ask you a question first. How long have you been negotiating here with Djo’s people? Who have you been talking to, and how did it go?”

Nate wiped his forehead with two fingers and said with a troubled expression, “I was always in the East before, but I felt working only in the East was too slow, so I ca to the West to look for suitable cannon fodder. When I found the right people, Djo and Grand Ivan had already started fighting, and I couldn’t find others to help achieve my goal, so I could only choose to cooperate between Djo and Grand Ivan.”

Gao Yang shrugged, “Then your timing couldn’t be worse.”

Nate, utterly pained, said, “Who says that’s not true? I planned to find Grand Ivan, his people can do it, but ended up not finding anyone at all. I contacted Djo’s subordinate leader, and once we scheduled a eting, he was taken down. F**k! Then I switched to Grand Ivan’s leader trying to connect, but before I found contact info, he was taken down too!”

Gao Yang spread his hands, made a helpless gesture, while Nate irritably waved his hand and continued, “Then I could only return to Djo, but we just started negotiating, and before Djo made a final decision, well, they were taken down by you again!”

Gao Yang laughed, “But you’ve t now, so all your problems can be solved. By the way, how was your negotiation with Djo?”

Nate grimaced and helplessly said, “You need to understand, I’m not the one negotiating. I’m just responsible for making connections and plan to use them a bit. The negotiation’s result, actually not bad, Djo agreed to give them weapons and for free, but the most crucial public identity, aning army command, he can’t give. Those bastards are satisfied, but I’m not satisfied.”

Gao Yang raised his hand to interrupt Nate, “What did Djo get for giving weapons?”

Nate pursed his lips, “Intangible things, exclusive rights for food, several coal mines, but those only matter after the war ends, and only if these cannon fodders can take power to achieve it. But Djo is more concerned about having a controlled force within Ukraine’s army, very important for him, because Djo severely lacks a voice within the Ukrainian Army.”

Gao Yang exhaled, “So, all the people in the hotel are negotiators, and there’s so operational personnel, but not the toughest under Djo’s command, correct?”

Nate shrugged, “Partially, Djo sent a part of his direct combat force, and also sent Beasley, then the one responsible for negotiating with us was tossed, altogether more than thirty people, and so unknown number hiding elsewhere.”

Just as Gao Yang predicted, such smooth progression has its reasons. Gao Yang sighed, “In that case, Djo has a strong force of more than twenty extrely formidable people. Do you know anything about them?”

Nate shook his head, “Don’t know, haha, extrely formidable, how formidable can they be?”

Gao Yang said in a deep voice, “Twenty people directly attacked an apartnt defended by sixty-two people and forcibly killed Andre, the European head of Grand Ivan, with almost no casualties themselves.”

Nate curled his lips, expressing disdain, “Is that difficult? What’s your definition of formidable?”

Gao Yang said solemnly, “Those sixty-two individuals were all Alpha!”

Nate’s face changed dramatically, and he shouted, “That’s absolutely impossible!”

Gao Yang nodded, his face serious, “Do you think I’d joke about this?”

Nate took a breath, seriously, “Under normal circumstances, such a thing could never happen! That’s Alpha, not a bunch of fools. Alpha’s operations might be rough, but they’re not idiots to be slaughtered!”

Gao Yang nodded, “Indeed, there’s a very crucial premise: the attackers used sothing called a sonic locator, very advanced. Hmm, it’s a bit complicated to explain. It’s shot into the building like having x-ray vision. Hold on, you can see this thing.”

Gao Yang returned to the car, dug out a sonic locator from his small bag, and handed it to Nate, whispering, “This is the gadget, seen it before?”

Nate scrutinized it for a long ti, shaking his head, “Never seen it.”

Gao Yang whispered, “I’m now suspecting those people might be Aricans, Cerberus or Butter Knife.”

Nate frowned, “Cerberus? Butter Knife? Never heard of them.”

Gao Yang patted his head and laughed, “These are internal KGB code nas, once highly confidential intelligence. Hmm, Cerberus should officially be called Naval Tactical Study Group, under SEALs, while Butter Knife is formally nad Army Special Tactics Research Group. Both units specialize in decapitation operations, but Butter Knife also handles validating and testing the U.S. Army’s latest equipnt.”

Nate’s face changed dramatically, and feeling sothing was off, Gao Yang stopped talking and watched Nate directly.

Nate furrowed his brow, visibly surprised and serious. He raised the sonic locator, carefully examining it while whispering, “What kind of clothes did you say those people wore?”

Gao Yang imdiately said, “According to survivors’ descriptions, these people wore all black, whole bodies clad in black, without any obvious markings.”

“What about guns? What about night vision equipnt?”

Gao Yang whispered, “Rifles M4, hmm, actually the guns have nothing special, just have…”

“Sawed-off shotguns!”

Gao Yang was shocked, trembling, “You know!”

Nate nodded, exhaled, and said word by word, “Yes, even encountered them!”

Before Gao Yang could ask, Nate held the small sonic locator, seriously stated, “At the border of Pakistan and Afghanistan, we had a mission, I won’t elaborate, to put it simply, we were inside a house, hit by a six-man team raid. We killed four, two escaped, but we also lost one, injured two. I must say, despite being fully prepared, one of ours was still killed, and we couldn’t keep all of them.”

After finishing, Nate pointed at Gao Yang and said in a deep voice, “The night vision device you snatched was obtained from them. We could only take their guns and night vision devices before hurriedly retreating because they had air support, and we had to leave imdiately. Also, the plane I saw at the ti was unfamiliar. But not long after, in 2011, after the Abbottabad incident, I saw the sa type of plane again.”

Gao Yang exclaid, “Wasn’t that carried out by SEAL Team Six?”

Nate took a breath and said in a deep voice, “Clearly not! SEAL Team Six was just a cover to disguise the true unit that carried out the operation!” (To be continued.
