Gao Yang didn’t hesitate, blurting out, "Hmm? What do you an? Are you talking about who took over Andre’s position?"

Polovich sighed and said in a deep voice, "That’s right, that’s exactly what I an. Forget it, you probably wouldn’t know."

Gao Yang smiled bitterly, "Andre almost killed because he thought I was stealing business. In Ukraine, no one can compete with him in business. Later, after Andre died, Ukraine’s situation beca a ss. Now, I can freely engage in the arms trade here. But you know, being an arms dealer isn’t my main job, nor is it the job I dream of. So, I’ve decided to leave Ukraine once I’ve handled my current affairs."

Polovich sighed and said, "Leave, it’s a wise choice. Ukraine is now the main battlefield. Whether it’s Djo or Grand Ivan, taking down Ukraine holds symbolic significance. Perhaps under normal circumstances, they could tolerate soone doing small business in Ukraine, but now, no one can do arms business in Ukraine. If you stay now, people might misunderstand that you’ve fully committed to one side. If you don’t plan to tie yourself to Grand Ivan’s chariot, then leave early."

This ti, it was Gao Yang’s turn to remain silent.

Trust is sothing that, once lost, can never be regained.

Polovich did not betray Gao Yang, but he chose to stand by at Grand Ivan’s most critical mont. If Grand Ivan hadn’t had any mishaps and still tolerated Polovich’s existence, allowing him to do business in such a sensitive place as the Green Zone, Gao Yang wouldn’t think too much about it.

But now that Grand Ivan has been gone for a long ti, Gao Yang no longer dares to reveal everything to Polovich, especially regarding matters about Grand Ivan. He absolutely wouldn’t disclose everything.

Gao Yang felt a mixed range of emotions within him because he thought Polovich wasn’t a bad guy and was quite a good friend. However, Gao Yang didn’t dare to gamble on Polovich’s character, so he could only conceal everything he could.

After a long silence, Gao Yang finally said in a low voice, "You can’t stay in the Green Zone. Where do you plan to go next?"

Polovich sighed deeply, saying, "I’m going to Kiev."

Gao Yang was taken aback and exclaid, "You’re coming to Kiev?"

Polovich replied calmly, "Yes, I’m going to Kiev. I didn’t betray Grand Ivan, but I did choose to stand by when he needed most. Mistakes require punishnt. Grand Ivan allowed to conduct arms business in the Green Zone, but now I dare not return there. I can’t go elsewhere to trade arms either, and since it’s a dangerous ti for Grand Ivan, I’ve decided to go to Ukraine."

Gao Yang smiled bitterly, "What are you coming here for?"

Polovich said in a low voice, "I have my own forces. That’s not surprising. I must have sothing entirely my own. Now, I need to take my people to Ukraine and continue fighting Djo. You don’t understand, with Andre gone, the power he held has completely spiraled out of control. I need to go to Ukraine to assert Grand Ivan’s presence and prevent others from thinking Djo has completely seized control of Ukraine, or it could lead to catastrophic consequences."

Gao Yang asked curiously, "Do you think you can secure the power Andre originally held? Do you have the ans to contend with Djo when you reach Ukraine?"

Polovich laughed, "It’s impossible for to gain Andre’s power, nor can I confront Djo. I told you, going to Ukraine is to assert presence. Having there ans Grand Ivan hasn’t failed, at least not entirely. Wherever I’m needed."

Gao Yang thought for a mont and then said softly, "Alright then, maybe you should co to Kiev. So, let’s leave it at that. Contact once you reach Kiev, and if I’m still there, we can et and talk."

Polovich sighed and said, "I hope we have the chance to et. I hope."

Gao Yang hung up the phone, frowning deeply.

Glolov stepped up to Gao Yang and whispered, "What happened? Is there a problem with Polovich?"

Gao Yang replied softly, "The Aricans made a move on Polovich, so he’s coming to Kiev—not to seek refuge, but to replace the deceased Andre and continue the fight using his own forces."

Glolov imdiately furrowed his brows and said in a low voice, "If he cos, could he pose a threat to us?"

Gao Yang showed a troubled expression and said, "You know, I no longer trust Polovich, although I still think he might be reliable."

Glolov said firmly, "Soone who can betray once can do it a second ti, a third ti."

Gao Yang smiled bitterly, "Yeah, that’s what I think too. That’s why I dare not disclose any information to him. I even suspect he’s already sided with the Aricans or Djo because I believe if the Aricans really wanted to kill him or capture him, he wouldn’t have been able to escape the Green Zone."

Glolov nodded, "Yes, I think so too."

Gao Yang exhaled and said in a low voice, "Let’s see if Polovich really will co to Kiev. If soone takes him out, then he’s proven his loyalty. If nothing happens to him, then we should keep our distance. If things escalate further, we’ll have no choice but to take him out first. I hope it doesn’t co to that."

Glolov shook his head and said, "How can you prove his loyalty to Grand Ivan? It’s totally unrealistic."

Gao Yang spread his hands helplessly and said, "What else can we do? Just take him out directly? I can’t do that, so for now, let’s take it one step at a ti. Polovich is very experienced; he knows how to handle a peer, so we wait and see."

Glolov said in a deep voice, "What do we do next?"

Gao Yang replied in a low voice, "We lure the snake from its cave. Unless the target is soone like Djo himself, we won’t act directly. We use the people at our disposal to fully strike at all of Djo’s forces and all arms dealers trying to do business in Ukraine. If their actions trigger a backlash, we’ll step in personally. If Ukraine remains calm and nothing happens, we should quickly find that gun of Morgan’s!"

Glolov smiled, patted Gao Yang on the shoulder, and said in a low voice, "You finally have a rcenary’s mindset. rcenaries are cannon fodder, as are all those rcenaries we control."

Gao Yang knew what Glolov ant. He had now begun to use the rcenaries under his control as bait or cannon fodder, a practice he didn’t engage in before.

Thinking Glolov misunderstood, Gao Yang seriously said, "I’m not using them as cannon fodder. I just believe that under the current circumstances, this is the only effective way to draw out Djo’s hidden forces. If I really used them as cannon fodder, I would have more effective ways to do so." (To be continued.
