Mercenary’s War Chapter 1608 - 1587: The Master Safecracker

At six in the morning, Gao Yang woke up right on ti and opened his eyes. Then he heard the phone ringing by his ear.

"It’s done."

Little Donnie knew Gao Yang’s biological clock, so he made the call right on the dot.

Gao Yang rubbed his eyes and said in a deep voice, "Not bad, quick enough, so tell the result."

"The safe wasn’t ordered under Poloneshenko’s na, but through various clues and the final installation location, we deduced the identity of the orderer. That’s right, Poloneshenko ordered six safes, two of which are large horizontal ones quite suitable for storing guns."

Once Gao Yang finished his routine exercise, took a shower, changed clothes, he opened the door and shouted, "Leonard, ti to work!"

Number Thirteen opened his door while sitting in a wheelchair, and the sweaty Taylor also opened his door, saying to Gao Yang, "Any progress? Hold on a mont, I’ll get changed."

Number Thirteen calmly said, "Any news?"

"Yes, there are a total of six safes, two of which are quite suitable for storing guns, detailed information is in the computer."

Number Thirteen imdiately said, "Alright, let’s take a look."

Gao Yang frowned and said, "If the gun is in the safe, it ans Poloneshenko knows its value. Alright, this isn’t the key point. The key is, how do we get the gun out of the safe?"

Number Thirteen sighed and said helplessly, "I’m not very good at safecracking. I can open safes but not those made by Döttling Company, I can’t open them..."

Knowing there’s a safe and knowing what you need is inside but can’t open it, it’s like having a lot of money in a bank vault but not being able to access it. It’s a normal problem but a serious one for Gao Yang.

Gao Yang scratched his head hard and said, "Just like my gun, I would keep sothing extrely valuable close by. If Poloneshenko realizes the gun’s value, he’d bring it into the Presidential Palace, and he’ll be president in three days."

Number Thirteen quietly said, "So, even if we find a way to get into that house, we still have to open the safe—and there are two of them."

Taylor frowned and said, "Do you guys think that guy..."

Taylor stopped mid-sentence and said to Osa, "Please leave for a mont, I don’t want to kill you to keep a secret later."

Osa isn’t dumb; she’s actually quite smart. Knowing that Gao Yang and the others would discuss sothing involving others, she naturally couldn’t overhear, in case they’d really have to kill her later to keep her silent, so Osa obediently stood up and returned to her room.

Watching Osa leave, Taylor continued, "Boss, do you think La Azaro will work?"

Gao Yang shook his head and said, "Of course not, he’s just a street pickpocket, not an expert in cracking safes, that’s too high-end for him. Besides, if he knew we’d be breaking into Poloneshenko’s house to steal sothing, I think he’d be too scared."

Number Thirteen scratched his head hard, saying in a deep voice, "I don’t know what to do, I don’t know any experts in this field, maybe we can ask Yake? He’s awake, though he can’t move much, he might know soone."

Gao Yang waved his hand and said, "No need to think about it, I have soone in mind, a notorious safecracker, just not sure if I can get in touch with him."

Taylor curiously asked, "Who?"

Gao Yang smiled and said, "You wouldn’t know even if I told you, it’s soone from the Cleaner organization."

They had a line on Morgan’s gun back in New York when they killed a man nad Dusselyev. After killing Dusselyev, when they hired cleaners to deal with the aftermath, they opened a safe at Dusselyev’s house filled with bombs. The xican thief the cleaners brought left a deep impression on Gao Yang, but Taylor and Number Thirteen didn’t know since they hadn’t joined yet.

Looking at Number Thirteen, Gao Yang smiled and said, "Can you get in touch with Murphy, have him help bring soone nad Antonio over, a Cleaner, a xican, he used to be a safecracker."

Number Thirteen imdiately said, "No way. I’ve worked for the Cleaners, but my relationship with them is just a partnership. If the Antonio you ntioned is with the Cleaners, then he wouldn’t do private jobs, and Murphy wouldn’t privately contact any Cleaner, even if he is the point man for New York."

Gao Yang contemplated for a mont and said, "In that case, it seems we can only officially contact the Cleaners, have them send Antonio over, and, by the way, clean up our traces of thievery in Kiev, I guess there might be a branch there."

Number Thirteen said in a deep voice, "I have doubts about getting the Antonio you ntioned because the Cleaners only do post-event cleanup work, and they might refuse your request to loan out personnel. So, my suggestion is to first find a task that requires Murphy’s involvent, get him involved so he can qualify to contact Antonio, and then have him bring Antonio out for a private job."(To be continued.
