Chapter 1625: Chapter 1604: Let’s Move
Gao Yang’s curiosity kicked in. They say curiosity killed the cat, but when a person’s curiosity is piqued and left unsatisfied, it can indeed be quite painful.
Everyone has curiosity, and it’s not just Gao Yang who wants to figure things out right now.
Taylor hesitated a bit and said, “How about we wake this person up and ask?”
Gao Yang pondered for a mont, then painfully said, “Let’s forget it. It’s not really necessary. If we wake him up, we’ll have to ask questions. The key was that the first three people who ca in already made things clear. Conditions were created, so even if they stay to open the safe, there wouldn’t be an issue.
Gao Yang agreed to continue opening the safe. Antonio excitedly snapped his fingers and laughed, “Let find the safe first, it’ll just take a few minutes.”
Antonio started searching, intermittently walking and stopping to find the hidden safe. He didn’t carefully search Poloneshenko’s bedroom at first because that safe wasn’t in Gao Yang’s plan. Even now, it still wasn’t part of the plan. If found, he’d open it, but if it took too long, he’d let it go; it was all optional.
Soon, Antonio moved all the clothes hanging in the wardrobe aside, and after tapping on the panel, he smiled and said, “As expected, it’s here. There really was a safe hidden.”
Antonio carefully found the chanism and revealed the safe embedded in the wall.
Looking at the safe, Antonio exhaled with excitent and said, “Yes! This is it! The best safe, the absolute best!”
Gao Yang leaned in to take a look and whispered, “Is it nice? Uh, sorry, that was a pointless question.”
Antonio nodded, feverishly stating, “That’s indeed a pointless question, but I love this kind of challenge!”
Gao Yang chuckled wryly, “The one upstairs took you six hours, what about this one?”
Antonio stared at the safe and, without turning his head, said, “It’ll definitely take longer, although it’s really hard to say. Maybe I’ll open it in tens of minutes, maybe never.”
Gao Yang and Taylor exchanged glances, and Taylor whispered, “What do we do?”
Gao Yang whispered, “Let him try first, and we’ll see later. Anyway, we have plenty of ti. Giving him an hour or two doesn’t matter, but…”
After glancing at Karima, Gao Yang whispered, “You better take her and leave first. I’ll stay and see what happens, and incidentally arrange things here.”
Taylor pointed at the people on the ground and said, “What about them?”
Gao Yang laughed quietly and said, “Of course, let them live well. I’ll take sothing from them to leave behind, but I won’t leave them here.”
After finishing, Gao Yang waved his hand, made a downward chop gesture, and mischievously said, “Take their fingerprints, put so on the safe upstairs, put so on this safe, and hair must be left behind too. Besides these, don’t we have surveillance footage? Cut our part out and just show the part with the two others to the owner here.”
Taylor frowned and said, “Their thod is too crude. I can’t figure out their motive.”
Gao Yang clapped his hands and laughed, “Isn’t it obvious? It’s simple.”
Pointing at the two Russians, Gao Yang whispered, “These two are Russians, that woman has been lurking here for a long ti. It’s state action, so they want to remove so things without leaving any traces. More likely, they want to see sothing, then photograph or film it as evidence, not taking anything away. You can tell from the eavesdropping and recording equipnt they brought. Also, didn’t they say to restore the upstairs safe to its original state? So, that’s what I think.”
After saying this, Gao Yang pointed at the four who ca in later, “These, however, are here to take sothing. We don’t know what, but it’s definitely important. They aren’t afraid of exposure. Furthermore, their work is too crude, not like spies or agents. I think they’re working for money. The one who sent them probably doesn’t mind Poloneshenko knowing these people were sent by him, because once the items are gone, Poloneshenko will have specific suspects.”
Taylor shrugged and said, “We can’t provoke the KGB, and we don’t know what these Aricans are up to, but there’s no need for any grudges. So, the problem is, we’ve ruined the plans of these two powers, what do you intend to do?”
“It’s too easy, we have two scapegoats, so why not let them think they were sabotaging each other? Put the Russians’ stuff on the Aricans, and the Aricans’ stuff on the Russians. Finish this before they wake up, then dump them sowhere. It’s none of our business anyway, who cares about the rest.”
Taylor looked at the people on the ground and frowned, “So many people, where would we dump them?”
Gao Yang thought for a mont, then nodded and said, “How about this, since it’s none of our concern, why not make it more thorough. The Aricans want the item, and the Russians just want to take pictures without leaving traces. So if we can get the item out later, put it on the Russians.”
Taylor frowned, but Karima chuckled lightly, “You’re too wicked.”
Gao Yang laughed heartily and waved his hand, “Just kidding. This kind of harming-others-without-benefits-to-yourself isn’t sothing I’d actually do. Doing so would anger the two sides to death, even though they couldn’t find us. It’s better not to be so malicious.”
Taylor pouted and suddenly said, “I have an idea, boss. Since we need to throw these people out and can’t have them discovered too soon, we can’t do it alone with so few people. So, we should call in more people. Since we need to call people to take them out, why not call even more to help move so things out?”
Gao Yang looked at Taylor, then smiled slightly, buoyant with excitent, “You really want to call a moving company, don’t you? I knew you couldn’t resist those goodies. Now that we suddenly have two scapegoats, hmm, it’s decided! Let’s call people to move house!”
