Chapter 1648: Chapter 1627
Gao Yang had been searching for Krulney for a long ti.
Ever since the assassination of Prince Suharitan, Krulney had disappeared. To find Krulney, Little Donnie had put in a lot of effort. Now, his wife called voluntarily.
Krulney’s wife calling definitely ant there was so news about Krulney. But Gao Yang wasn’t happy at all; on the contrary, he was utterly troubled.
The call from Krulney’s wife indicated that the situation on Krulney’s side was bad, and this was exactly what Gao Yang feared the most. Just when the chaotic situation was about to get back on track, if Krulney was captured and gave them all away, the outco could be disastrous.
Gao Yang felt nauseous. Covering the phone, he thought for a mont, then whispered, “I’m not Ram. Ma’am, you sound very agitated. I think you might need help. If there’s anything I can do, please let know.”
Gao Yang didn’t admit he was Ram because when Krulney’s wife called, anything could have happened.
Krulney’s wife might have anticipated such a situation, so she continued urgently, “Krulney left this number. He said only Ram could save him. If in danger, he told to call this number. I’ve been dialing it for almost a month. Please save Krulney.”
Gao Yang felt an intense annoyance, thinking the situation might already be irreversible.
If Krulney’s wife had been calling for a month, that ant Krulney had been in trouble for at least a month. If he had already fallen into the hands of the Shah People, he’d long been broken, and any secrets would have been spilled.
Gao Yang was in a terrible mood. He had too many things he couldn’t afford to be exposed; the consequences of any single one being revealed were unbearable. Now it seed like the paper wouldn’t be able to cover the fire.
Gao Yang didn’t feel like listening anymore, so he whispered, “I’m sorry, ma’am. You have the wrong person. I’m not Ram, and I don’t know Ram. I probably can’t help you. But perhaps you’ll find Ram soon. Goodbye.”
After saying that, Gao Yang imdiately hung up the phone, turned off his cell phone, then took out his satellite phone. He dialed and imdiately said, “Where are you? Can Eliza do a phone trace?”
Little Donnie, surprised, said, “I just got ho. Tracing a phone is pretty complicated. We don’t have the equipnt, but Eliza should be able to. She can hack into the telecom company’s system and do a rough triangulation, but it might take so ti. What’s up?”
Gao Yang said in a deep voice, “Krulney’s wife called. Krulney’s in trouble. I don’t know if this is a trap, so we need to take so precautions. Have Eliza try to do a phone trace. When she’s ready, contact Krulney’s wife as Ram. Here’s the number for you; get ready imdiately.”
“Understood, won’t let them trace the call source. I’ll let you know.”
Gao Yang hung up the call, feeling very agitated.
Gao Yang had never trusted Krulney, so he never gave Krulney his satellite phone number. At the ti of contact, he happened to be traveling in Europe with Yelena, and so he casually gave Krulney his commonly used number in Arica.
What annoyed Gao Yang was not just that Krulney might have been captured by the Shah People, but mainly that he had leaked his phone number. A phone number could expose so much. Gao Yang felt he had made an unforgivable mistake.
Seeing Gao Yang’s extrely annoyed face, Yelena was worried and cautiously said, “Is sothing wrong?”
Gao Yang forced a smile. He knew he couldn’t keep a poker face, and his expression had betrayed him. Besides, Yelena wouldn’t believe him if he said nothing was wrong. So, with a troubled expression, he said, “Yes, there’s a situation, so trouble. But thankfully, it’s not too severe. Otherwise, I couldn’t sit still now. Seems I have to leave earlier. Such a nuisance, never a mont of peace.”
Admitting there was trouble ironically reassured Yelena a little. Gao Yang wryly smiled, “I still don’t know the details. I’ll take so precautions and then make calls to check. Hopefully, it won’t be too bad.”
Soon, Natalia had gathered Frey’s family and Vita. By then, Gao Yang was able to mask his feelings well. Just as he was making so well-intentioned lies to comfort the worried won, Little Donnie called, and he got up, sneaking into Yelena’s room to answer.
“Everything’s ready. I’ll make the call. You listen. If you sense any problem, stop it quickly.”
Little Donnie hurriedly finished speaking, then dialed the number Gao Yang gave him, waiting for Krulney’s wife to pick up. He then whispered, “I’m Ram. What’s going on? You can tell directly.”
Gao Yang listened, quickly figuring out the situation.
Krulney knew he was in big trouble. To protect himself, he sent his family to remote Alaska after returning to Arica, then stayed in New York for a while to gather information.
Later, Krulney returned to Alaska, told his wife that the Shah People were after him, so he had to stay away from them to avoid bringing trouble, and left again.
After Krulney left, he called his wife every day. Then one day, he hastily gave her a phone number, told her to contact soone nad Ram for help, and since then, she hadn’t heard from him.
The last ti Krulney contacted her, he was in New York. He left only a number, told her to find Ram and call this number to reach him. He left no other clues, and after that contact, Krulney disappeared. Calling that number resulted in no response, until it was eventually turned off.
Regarding whether Krulney’s wife was telling the truth, they confird she indeed was in Alaska. Little Donnie imdiately dialed the number Krulney left. As expected, it was entirely unreachable.
By this point, Gao Yang was almost driven crazy. How could they find Krulney in this situation, and even if they did, what then? He no longer doubted that Krulney had been captured by the Shah People, and without surprise, Krulney had likely confessed everything by now.
