Capítulo 1714: Chapter 1293: Butter Knife’s Brats
In order to ensure security, there are many caras around Gao Yang’s residence, which can detect soone approaching from hundreds of ters away. However, the main way to guarantee security is still the secrecy of the hideout.
Angel nearly controls the entire area, and Gao Yang’s hideout is in a very secluded place. They’re extrely cautious in their activities, making it difficult for enemies to discover them.
Gao Yang believed that perhaps after Pavlovich issued a summon, people from the Black Demon would co over, so he imdiately said, “Tyrannosaurus, go ask Pavlovich if his people have co. I’ll go out and check. Notify you all imdiately if sothing’s wrong.”
Watching an old man with a cane slowly walking up the path, Li Jinfang frowned and said, “Sothing’s off. Pavlovich and those people are only in their sixties. They shouldn’t be walking around like this. This person looks at least eighty.”
There’s not even a village nearby, making the possibility of soone being lost very low. If soone isn’t coming directly to them, an old man has no reason to head towards Gao Yang’s place at dusk.
These past days, Gao Yang hasn’t bothered to ask Pavlovich if anyone was coming. He thought that although he posted that advertisent, how many people would see it imdiately? Perhaps after posting for a while, soone might co, but he didn’t expect it so soon.
Gao Yang shouted, “Can’t we just ask to know for sure? It’s only one old man, probably not a mistake. I’ll go out and look. Just stay alert.”
Gao Yang went out alone, quickening his pace towards the slowly approaching old man, but slowing down as they nearly t.
The old man ca alone, his silver hair, sparse, combed back exposing a lot of scalp. His face had severe age spots, hands holding the cane also had many age spots. His back slightly hunched, indeed looking eighty or older.
The old man walked steadily. After seeing Gao Yang, he stopped and smiled kindly at him, looking particularly amiable and benevolent.
When Gao Yang approached the old man, he shouted, “Hello, sir! Ahead is private property. May I ask what brings you here?”
The old man kindly laughed, “I’m looking for an old friend nad Pavlovich. He seems to live here. Do you know him?”
Indeed, a Black Demon. Gao Yang imdiately smiled, “Oh, so you’re looking for Pavlovich. You arrived pretty quickly, it’s only the third day. Yes, Pavlovich is inside. It’s a pleasure having you here, sir.”
The old man passed the cane to his left hand, shook hands with Gao Yang with his right, laughing, “Pretty quick indeed, can’t help it. As you age, things slow down, but the heart grows urgent. We’ve got to race against the Grim Reaper, haha. My na’s Jacobin Vasilyev. Nice to et you.”
Gao Yang laughed, “You can call Ram.”
Jacobin laughed heartily, shaking Gao Yang’s hand, “Ah, I know you. Pavlovich ntioned you; you’re our boss.”
Gao Yang thought this old man was quite nice—though much older than Pavlovich’s group by about twenty years. Might have led the team in the past, yet Jacobin seed benevolent and knowledgeable. He spoke amiably, even if he couldn’t do much anymore—just reminiscing with Pavlovich’s team—Gao Yang was pleased.
“Ah, please don’t call boss. Pavlovich wouldn’t consider his boss, haha. I rely wish for him to assist with sothing. If you could join Pavlovich and the others in helping , I’d be honored, haha.”
Jacobin shook his head with a pout, loudly saying, “Pavlovich never sees reality clearly. You must’ve supplied his funds, manpower, resources—then you are indeed an employer.”
Gao Yang thought the old man quite interesting, so much more likable than Pavlovich’s group—unlike most of those Black Demons who had fallen in battle. They were harsh and abrasive, not even acknowledging him as their employer—yet Jacobin arrived with such a pleasant deanor.
Recalling Pavlovich’s old team—they were annoying yet Gao Yang couldn’t help but feel a pang of sorrow. His face dimd as he glanced at the aged Jacobin, another sure mber of Black Demon. Despite nearly incapable, he felt a sense of affection towards him, deciding to treat him well even if he was only a freeloader.
“Mr. Vasilyev, where did you co from?”
“Oh, Moscow. I ca from Moscow.”
“That’s quite a distance! You must be terribly tired.”
“Not too bad, not overly tired. Just so bumps along the way, otherwise I’d have arrived yesterday. Ah, age brings inconveniences.”
Chatting as they walked—all signs cleared by Gao Yang—Jacobin was guided directly to Pavlovich’s room door. Gao Yang knocked on the door loudly, “Hey, are you awake? A friend has co.”
“Already here? Co in, quickly.”
Pavlovich’s voice was full of excitent. Gao Yang opened the door for Jacobin. Jacobin stepped towards the entrance, glanced over at Pavlovich on the sickbed smiling, “Pavlovich, long ti no see. What happened to you?”
Pavlovich was stunned, staring with a slack-jawed expression at Jacobin, suddenly making to get off the bed.
Gao Yang was scared witless, pointed at Pavlovich, “Don’t move! Don’t move! F**k, are you crazy? Don’t move!”
Gao Yang rushed to Pavlovich, intending to hold him down, thus unable to see what Jacobin did behind him.
Jacobin pointed at Pavlovich, who imdiately ceased movent, saluting from the bed, then tremulously saying, “Captain! Sorry, sorry Captain, didn’t expect you so soon. Really glad to see you.”
Gao Yang was shocked—Jacobin, who looked kind and amiable, was captain of Pavlovich’s egotistical, annoying old crew? It seed unlikely.
Under Gao Yang’s speechless watch, Jacobin settled beside Pavlovich’s sickbed, leaning on his cane sorrowfully saying, “What brought you to this state?”
Pavlovich spoke embarrassedly, “It was Butter Knife, Captain.”
Jacobin shook his head, sighing, “Butter Knife? That bunch of young punks put you in this state? So many teammates lost? Tch tch, so embarrassing…”
