Upon getting back into the elevator and starting to descend, Gao Yang whispered, "Did you know it would be like this all along?"

Yarebin smiled and said, "I didn’t know it would definitely be like this, but I guessed it might be, because I’ve seen this kind of thing far too many tis."

After speaking, Yarebin shrugged with a relaxed expression and laughed, "You should know, the KGB’s predecessor was established to clean up internally, and the special team known as the Black Demon, well, to be honest, was originally intended for internal affairs as well."

Finishing with a smile, Yarebin patted Gao Yang’s shoulder in a sincere manner and said, "Stop thinking about these irrelevant matters; you should focus on what’s next, not things that have already ended."

Silently, they returned to the car and drove in silence to a new location. This ti, Yarebin couldn’t be bothered to get out of the car because simply killing the person would end it; if there was resistance, the whole family would be eliminated, a cleansing operation that Yarebin found boring.

The second necessary target for elimination was soone under Grand Ivan, to be precise, soone under Andre who was specifically responsible for certain tasks when selling and smuggling arms. This person lived in the outskirts, so they’d need to spend extra ti on the road to find him.

Actually, Gao Yang now felt quite fortunate that Djo hadn’t extended his reach too far yet; he had just started in Kiev and hadn’t yet had a chance to expand throughout Ukraine. Otherwise, with just a few people in Gao Yang’s team handling the cleansing operation across all of Ukraine, it would have been troubleso. Now, basically all operations were concentrated in Kiev.

This is the benefit of taking action early to solve the problem.

They found the target’s residence, an ordinary house in the outskirts of Kyiv. Six people easily opened the door, entered the house, and found that the person they were looking for was already dead.

Yes, the second target also committed suicide.

In the chaotic living room, a man’s corpse lay in the middle of the floor, with one hand holding a gun and the other holding a piece of paper.

Tarta squatted beside the corpse, pulled the paper from its hand, handed it off to the side casually, and after glancing at the corpse, stood up and said confidently, "Judging by the livor mortis, he’s been dead for over twelve hours, he died this morning."

Gao Yang looked at the white paper with a few scrawled lines; it was the suicide note left by the deceased, or it could be considered a letter to him.

"I was betrayed by Collins, Djo’s people ca for , and I couldn’t resist under threat, so I chose to betray. I don’t seek forgiveness, nor dare I hope for rcy, I take responsibility for my actions. I only ask for rcy for my family. Please don’t treat them like you did Collins’ family, they know nothing. Whoever reads this, I plead with you."

As Gao Yang read the note ant for him, Rostotsky glanced over and finished reading it too, then laughed, "Another smart person, knowing how to make the right choice. It seems the news about Collins’ entire family’s demise has spread, and the capture of Kokedor has also been leaked. This guy got the ssage and imdiately made a choice, sent his family away and took his own life, ha, acting decisively."

Gao Yang folded the paper once, then again into a small piece, put it into his pocket, crouched down, and softly said to the corpse on the floor, "As a traitor, I will not forgive you, but I pardon you. As long as your family does nothing foolish, they will be safe."

After speaking to the corpse, Gao Yang stood up, turned, and said, "Let’s go."

The Black Demons were indifferent to Gao Yang’s actions, as if they were very accustod to such scenes.

The six turned back, and as they stepped out of the house, a window was opened. Inside the car, Yarebin saw them co out and loudly asked, "Did he kill himself, or did he escape?"

Gao Yang replied sullenly, "Killed himself."

Yarebin clapped his hands and laughed, "Good, saves us trouble. Let’s move on to the next target."

Starting the car again, Yarebin said leisurely, "My goal is to resolve all three traitors tonight. We’ve already dealt with two; for the last one, let’s hope we can find him tonight."

Gao Yang asked, "Do you think he’ll definitely run?"

Yarebin didn’t answer directly but instead looked at Gao Yang with a smile, "What do you think?"

Gao Yang took a deep breath and said gravely, "I think he’ll also run because this person is inherently afraid of death and greedy for money. That he so easily turned to Djo already reveals the issue; anyone who fears death and hopes to get rich through Djo lacks the courage to choose suicide to take responsibility for their actions. After failing to gamble successfully, he’ll only evade responsibility."

Yarebin nodded and said, "Exactly, that’s the logic, but the situation might still differ. The issue is this guy might still be at ho."

Gao Yang asked suspiciously, "Why do you think he wouldn’t run?"

Yarebin shook his head with a smile, "No, it’s not that he wouldn’t run, it’s that he simply doesn’t know what’s happening and doesn’t realize he should run. Know what that is? It’s the tragedy of a small person."

Gao Yang murmured over Yarebin’s words, "The tragedy of a small person?"

Yarebin sighed, "He’s just a pawn; who cares about the lowest rung of individuals? Kokedor’s capture wasn’t on the news because it was concealed, so do you think anyone would specifically inform him to hurry and run away? No. When Djo’s people found themselves facing disaster, who would think to warn a minor character who just joined them? That’s the tragedy of a small person."

Yarebin looked at Gao Yang and said gravely, "You’ve risen above the fate of a small person, but you should rember what it was like being an insignificant figure no one cared for; never forget."

Gao Yang thought back to how they’d been forgotten, left to die at the Aziziya Barracks. Yes, little people are often forgotten or perhaps never even rembered.

With a long sigh, Gao Yang said, "Yet, if he’s sharp enough, he should still get the news and quickly flee, right? Given the path he’s taken, he’d better have a basic sense of alarm."

Yarebin laughed, "Yes, so now it depends on our luck. If we’re lucky, that guy hasn’t received the news and isn’t alert enough; he’ll foolishly wait at ho or in his usual spots for us to end him. If he’s sharp, finds sothing off, and has already bolted, then we’re in trouble. Finding such a small figure is the hardest part, yet we have no choice but to eliminate him, so let’s pray for good luck. I don’t feel like diverting people to hunt down this botherso small character right now."
