Capítulo 1924: Chapter 1901: rger

Gao Yang was talking earnestly with Chekriayev about his views on the entire Donetsk campaign, while Eileen was watching Gao Yang with shining eyes, listening intently and absorbed.

“This is strange. When did our Boss start thinking about problems from a strategic level? It feels so unfamiliar, but also so exciting. This is about commanding an army and conducting a battle that is crucial to the success or failure of the entire campaign.”

Frey’s whispered words beside Eileen interrupted her. After casting a discontented glance at Frey, Eileen whispered, “What do you an it feels unfamiliar? Our Boss has always been growing. Can’t a rcenary learn to fight conventional wars? If you’re used to special operations, does that an you can’t command regular forces? You’re the one who can’t keep up with the Boss!”

Frey looked at Eileen and chuckled softly, “Eileen, your eyes are sparkling.”

Eileen rolled her eyes at Frey and whispered, “Stand guard honestly. Don’t get distracted. Do you want to be caught like Koval again?”

Eileen and Frey stood outside the door, one on each side. They were posted at the closest guard position to the core, able to see everything happening inside the room and hear it, too.

Frey laughed softly, “Aren’t you the sa?”

Eileen raised her eyes provocatively, “I can understand. Can you?”

Frey scratched his head, looking embarrassed, and said, “I can understand every word that the Boss says, but when they’re all together, I don’t quite get it. Why does the battle here affect the outco over in Donetsk? Alright, it seems I’m only fit for small-scale skirmishes with a dozen or so people. This kind of advanced warfare isn’t related to .”

Eileen said triumphantly, “Put the Boss in his current position, and he’ll adapt and step into the role quickly. Put you in this position, and you’re still just a grenadier. That’s why the Boss is the Boss. So while our Boss is now considering how to win this campaign, you don’t understand why he’s thinking about these things. Got it? If you get it, then stand guard sincerely and let listen to what they’re saying.”

Frey laughed softly, “Right, your dad is the Army Commander! The bona fide kind, with a deep family tradition.”

Eileen lowered her face and whispered, “What’s the use of that? The German Army Commander can’t even command a few military exercises, let alone lead a war. What can I learn from him? Forget it, talking to you is pointless. Don’t disturb .”

Just then, after Eileen refocused all her attention on Gao Yang, she saw Gao Yang sincerely say to Chekriayev, “Mr. Chekriayev, I have a suggestion. Let’s rge our teams. You see, you are an independent ard group without a unified command system, which makes it inconvenient to operate. Why not rge into one? Given your scale, we can organize it into a battalion. You can be the battalion commander. Oh, we won’t be staying here long, so it would be best if you also serve as the commander of the Kharzisk Group.”

Chekriayev shook his head and said, “ as the commander? Never mind. Oh, rging is certainly not a problem. You command quite well, so of course, you should continue to command. We are just here to prevent our compatriots from being bullied and having their belongings taken, not to fight for power. Once the battle is over, we are back to being civilians. So as long as soone is on our side, it doesn’t matter who commands.”

After speaking, Chekriayev smiled at Glolov and said, “Old buddy, we’re fighting side by side again, haha.”

Glolov made a welcoming gesture, patted Chekriayev, and smiled, “Nothing makes happier than this.”

After Chekriayev expressed his position, Gao Yang nodded and then loudly said, “Very good. Now, let’s start with the deploynt. Mr. Chekriayev, your artillery is a crucial elent, but I’m not very knowledgeable about using artillery. So, for now, please discuss the specific tactics with our experts.”

Gao Yang made a motion with his hand, and Rebrov moved to the front of the map and said to Chekriayev, “Mr. Chekriayev…”

Chekriayev waved his hand and said, “Don’t call that, it’s awkward. I’m the artillery battalion commander now, aren’t I? So you can call Commander.”

Rebrov seed a little reserved but nodded and said, “Alright, Commander. Do you have maps for the scouts? I see you have observation mirrors and radios for communication, but do you have maps? It’s very essential.”

Rebrov was used to calling those who guide artillery the artillery scouts, a habit from his perspective as an artillery commander, while Chekriayev called them observers due to his background as an Army Aviation pilot and artillery outsider. The aning was the sa, and there was no misunderstanding.

Chekriayev sighed and loudly said, “We have, but only one set left. We had four observer groups, five people in each group, with four infantry providing protection and one professional observer. But the other three groups died. The enemy’s helicopters and artillery are fierce. Our group was hit by artillery fire while relocating positions, leaving only three of us. But luck was in our favor, and the critical equipnt remained.”

Among the two soldiers who ca with Chekriayev, one carried a radio on his back, and the other held an artillery observation mirror, though the mirror had so bloodstains on it. Chekriayev pulled a folded map from his shoulder bag and slowly spread it out.

A small bullet hole was in one corner of the map, along with a bloodstain, but the map was still usable. More importantly, Rebrov excitedly said, “Excellent, this is an artillery-specific operational map. With this, we can precisely guide artillery fire.”

Artillery scouts play a critical and irreplaceable role in the artillery team. Generally, scouts know the location of their artillery positions and all key paraters before departing. But Rebrov was joining halfway, collaborating with an unfamiliar artillery team and not knowing the exact positions of the cannons. Without a map, guidance would have been impossible.

After spreading out the map, Rebrov’s nervous expression disappeared completely. He picked up a pencil and loudly said, “Tell the exact locations of the artillery, it must be precise.”

Chekriayev nodded towards the soldier with the radio and said, “Your turn. Contact the base and get their exact positions.”

The soldier with the radio imdiately picked up the microphone and loudly said, “Hunter calling Forest, Hunter calling Forest, do you copy? Over.”

“This is Forest, over.”

“Fox has been found, do you need us to locate Fox’s den? Over.”

As each phrase in code was spoken and translated, especially translating the coordinate paraters from code, Rebrov quickly began making marks on the map.
