Chapter 1948: Chapter 1925: A Second Helping for the Enemy

After the boasting-filled call ended, Gao Yang hung up with great satisfaction.

Listening to Nate shout “Long live!” with unabashed excitent, Gao Yang felt incredibly light, the best way to describe this feeling is with one word—great, absolutely great.

After hanging up the phone, Rebrov, glowing with excitent, ran up to Gao Yang and, with a crisp salute, loudly reported: “Sir! The artillery battalion has completed firing preparations, we can fire at any ti, sir!”

Gao Yang was quite amazed, exclaiming: “So soon?”

Rebrov replied loudly: “Yes, sir! Our artillery regint is already overstaffed! After leaving people to et the basic operation requirents, the dispatch of gunners has already t our basic needs for operating the artillery. We only need to allocate enough personnel for non-technical positions, and we can use all the captured artillery!”

“Well done!”

Very pleased, Gao Yang waved his hand and also excitedly shouted: “Stand by!”

“Yes!”

Rebrov ran out happily, and Gao Yang was very pleased with the current progress, so he was equally enthusiastic.

Satan, with a dozen people escorting dozens of various artillery pieces, a convoy of over two hundred vehicles, and nearly one thousand prisoners, triumphantly bypassed the 72nd Brigade’s defenses. When encountering enemy sentries, they could easily pass by just saying they were relocating positions. Reflecting on how they managed this escort, to be precise, they watched the 15th Artillery Battalion return to its own position, and even Gao Yang himself found it bewildering upon recollection.

Returning to their position at around six o’clock, and by eleven o’clock in the morning, redeploying the captured artillery back to the battlefield. Although combat effectiveness was undoubtedly reduced, to recover combat capability in such a short ti was genuinely a miracle.

All morning, Gao Yang felt like he was not himself, exhilarated and happy—it’s not every day you capture an artillery battalion that submits to you, just thinking about it feels like dreaming.

After grinning foolishly for a while, Gao Yang rembered what to do next, so he picked up the intercom and shouted: “Second Battalion Commander!”

“Here, sir!”

“Have you completed your mission there? Why is it still not done?”

Upon hearing this, Bupasnov imdiately complained over the intercom, saying miserably: “Sir, there is nowhere left to detain the prisoners. Now we have more prisoners than our soldiers, and there is no suitable place for detention. According to your orders, we must break up and distribute the prisoners and guard them separately, but I don’t have enough personnel or space, sir. If we comply with your orders to guard the prisoners, I won’t have any soldiers left to participate in counterattack operations, sir. Bring so people over from the first battalion. We can’t have only the second battalion guarding the prisoners; it’s not fair.”

Gao Yang raised his voice and shouted: “That’s an order, the first battalion has already completed combat preparations. If it doesn’t work, then your second battalion won’t participate. Guarding the prisoners is an equally important task, and you must strictly follow the order. If there’s an issue, I’ll execute you. Over!”

After ending the call, Gao Yang paced back and forth inside the room, shouting: “We need to guard the prisoners and split forces to double as artilleryn; we’re short on manpower, what do we do, what do we do?”

The prisoners are incredibly important, so Gao Yang sent the entire second battalion to guard them, afraid to deploy the newly ard miscellaneous troops.

As for units like Doleisherlian, they were sent to the artillery position to handle the transport and loading of shells, tasks that didn’t require much technical skill. Only with this setup, and with support from Chekriayev and the artillery workers sent over, could Gao Yang make full use of the captured artillery in such a short ti.

This delightful headache is still a headache—all these prisoners and captured artillery lead to a shortage of soldiers, even struggling to guarantee the basic forces needed to launch a counterattack, making Gao Yang sowhat overwheld.

The first battalion had experienced significant casualties, with nearly half lost, and barely a hundred soldiers to perform coordinated infantry-artillery tasks to seize the enemy positions; it’s just not feasible.

Just as Gao Yang was at an impasse, Chekriayev rushed into the room, shouting: “Sir, I brought all the infantry from the artillery battalion. They’re reliable! The artillery position is currently unprotected, but there’s no issue.”

Gao Yang breathed a sigh of relief and pondered for a while, eventually, though reluctantly, agreeing: “Alright, your n will serve as reserves then.”

Gao Yang was a bit distressed, but everyone else remained in a state of excitent. Frey shouted: “Boss, stop frowning. We have so many artillery pieces and so many shells, even without artilleryn, we’ll easily take the enemy!”

Glolov, full of enthusiasm, added: “Exactly, now we have an artillery battalion, and a reinforced one at that!”

Eileen clenched both fists, shaking before Gao Yang, looking as if she might burst, urgently saying: “Boss, give the order, fire the cannon! I can’t wait any longer.”

Gao Yang waved his hand continuously, saying: “Don’t rush, don’t rush, we should at least wait for the infantry to be ready.”

At that mont, soone shouted from outside the door: “Report!”

“Co in.”

A middle-aged man in camouflage, serving as a company commander, entered the room, gave an imperfect salute to Gao Yang, and loudly reported: “Sir, during patrol, we captured three individuals. One was caught stealing property from an unattended civilian house, discovered by our patrol team, and the other two attempted to assault a girl, breaking into a household that hadn’t evacuated.”

Khartsyzk is under military administration, Gao Yang specifically dispatched a miscellaneous company to maintain order.

Upon hearing the company commander’s report, Gao Yang frowned: “Who is the thief?”

“A local resident, we’ve investigated—he’s a habitual offender, a known troublemaker.”

“Give him a beating, break his arm, detain him for three days without food, but make sure not to kill him. Keep him locked up for three days and let him learn a lesson. What about the other two?”

“Soldiers, ours, though they won’t say which unit they’re from. These two entered with firearms and then…”

Gao Yang waved his hand, shouting: “Did they succeed?”

“No, our patrol team heard cries in ti and intervened. These n attempted ard resistance but gave up upon seeing our patrol outnumber them.”

Gao Yang waved his hand and loudly said: “Since they are our soldiers, no need for trial, execute them on the spot.”

“Yes!”

The company commander quickly ran off, and after issuing two harsh warti orders, Gao Yang looked at his watch and suddenly asked: “By the way, what ti is the enemy’s al?”

Chekriayev loudly replied: “From intelligence gathered from prisoners, the enemy begins eating at eleven thirty, and they tend to eat quickly when they can. Right now it’s eleven forty-seven; they’re eating, no doubt, it’s their alti.”

Gao Yang waved his hand and shouted: “I just love doing this kind of thing. Order! Entire artillery position, ten rapid rounds, give the enemy an extra al, fire!”
