Capítulo 1985: Chapter 1962: He’s All Alone
As ti passed, Gao Yang and his team hadn’t even properly launched their attack when the enemy fell into chaos.
Of course, it would be strange if the enemy wasn’t in disarray, and those launching the assault would be in real trouble.
At first, Gao Yang and his team moved slowly, as they had to advance cautiously while covering each other in combat formation. But shortly after the attack was initiated, the tactics had to change.
The snipers began their relentless slaughter, turning the enemies who had to abandon their cover and flee in haste into sitting ducks.
“Snipers, focus on blocking the building! Leave the rest of the enemies to the assault group!”
Alexander gave a tily order, recognizing that the main threat now ca from the enemies inside the building, not the ambush that had previously inflicted heavy casualties.
As for Gao Yang, he was feeling joyful enough to fly. If it weren’t for the concern that the trapped Angels would surely face a final fierce assault from Iron Madonna, he would be shouting victory.
Suddenly, soone erged right in front of Gao Yang. He covered his mouth and nose with a cloth, held his gun, and was about to open fire.
The Iron Madonna’s person had hidden deeply and waited long before appearing, but once he stumbled out with his gun raised, he fired all his bullets wildly above Gao Yang and his team.
They simply couldn’t stand still; everyone seed drunk, their movents distorted, their footsteps slowed, and tears stread from their eyes. But these weren’t the main reasons for their inability to fight.
The primary reason they couldn’t shoot accurately was the violent vomiting, making it impossible to properly aim and fire, even if they held their weapons.
Sirte wielding a ****** decided to use his most familiar weapon, while Li Jinfang and Jas were in front of Gao Yang. Together, they advanced in an inverted triangle formation, with Sirte alongside them.
With about a hundred ters left, Gao Yang slowed his pace and, after stopping, fired a precise shot at the enemy who had suddenly appeared, watching him flail and fall backward. The assault team proceeded with the advance.
No worries about enemies playing dead; if they could endure, they wouldn’t jump out and beco shooting targets.
Iron Madonna’s people probably couldn’t imagine, even in their wildest dreams, that the most powerful among the rcenary group would be slaughtered in such a ridiculous manner.
What a predicant.
Finally, a full enemy counterattack began, but the quality of the counterattack was absurdly low. When a team of six erged in a fairly intact combat formation from a concealed position, Sirte fired first.
He took out two people with consecutive shots. While shotguns aren’t ideal against armored targets, Sirte aid for the head, making his harvesting efficiency exceptionally high. As long as the enemy was within his range, there was no need for a second shot.
Just then, Sirte suddenly fell backward and shouted, “I’m hit!”
Before Sirte’s words faded, Jas fell forward onto the ground.
“I’m hit!”
It was only natural for those charging forward most fiercely to be the first to fall.
Gao Yang imdiately stopped and aid at the building, but his field of vision was all dependent on the flares, making him unable to see the threat from within the building.
“Take cover! Take cover!”
The radio was filled with hissing interference, as the interference source drew closer and closer.
Gao Yang dragged Jas, Li Jinfang dragged Sirte, and the four of them quickly ran into cover. Just then, amidst the interference, an Aurora sniper shouted, “Specter! It’s the Specter! He’s not dead, and we didn’t hit him!”
Gao Yang’s ecstatic feelings vanished along with his belief that everything was going smoothly.
Because the Specter was still alive.
Gao Yang wore body armor, thus he wasn’t dead or even injured, and the Specter, surely could wear armor too, hence he wasn’t dead and apparently not injured either.
If Gao Yang had ample aiming ti, then despite the difficulty, he would aim at Specter’s head to shoot. But his shooting opportunity was too limited, so he had no chance to aim for the head.
Sirte sat up, flailing and shouting, “F**k! F**k! It stinks!”
Jas clutched his neck through his protective suit and roared, “I can’t stand it, the stench!”
Both Sirte and Jas sported small bullet holes; Specter had fired, but his shooting conditions were poor due to the five snipers from Aurora and Three Lions rcenary Group closely watching the building, giving him little aiming ti, so he aid for the torso.
If Specter had aid for Sirte or Jas’s head, they’d certainly be dead, even with helts, it would be hard to say. However, Specter didn’t kill them but left a small hole in their protective suits.
This tiny bullet hole allowed the stench to seep into their suits.
“Specter!”
Accompanied by the snipers’ defensive shout, a strange voice scread, “Shot, I’m injured!”
The Specter, under the blockade of five snipers, fired another shot, successfully injuring soone this ti.
Iron Madonna was defeated in a laughable manner, while their sniper, Specter, awed others with the way he was saving them.
Three shots, three hits, and even though no one died, Specter once again suppressed Gao Yang and his team, preventing further advancent.
Five snipers focused all their energy to kill him, but even rely trying to suppress him proved futile.
Li Jinfang ignored the Specter’s threat as he was powerless against it, swiftly doing what he could.
Li Jinfang took a roll of tape from a small pouch at his waist, tore off a piece, and quickly plastered it over the hole in Jas’s protective suit, then tore another strip for Sirte’s suit, shouting, “Now! You know why I insist on carrying tape!”
Gao Yang dared not poke his head out anymore; doing so was useless without a night vision device, making it impossible to observe anything in the building. Thus, he yelled into the radio, “Stop him! Kill the Specter! Kill the Specter!”
Gao Yang finished shouting and heard Alexander’s steady voice on the radio, “Continue advancing! Kill him when the Specter fires again! It’s the only way; we must!”
Gao Yang broke out in a sweat, suffocated inside his suit, tense from the situation, frightened by the Specter, and excited by the impending action.
“He’s alone! Let’s go!”
Gao Yang would never have dread that one day he would shout such words to his comrades, words usually spoken by an enemy suppressed by him.
