Morgan was saying everything not to praise Gao Yang, but because he wanted Simon to hear it.

He wasn’t worried about a conflict between Gao Yang and Simon, but Morgan definitely did not want Simon to harbor any resentnt because of his decision. So, despite not needing to explain anything originally, he detailed the reasons for his choice in front of Gao Yang and Simon.

The relationship between Gao Yang and Simon had always been good. Both of them had monts where they saved each other. Gao Yang even learned from Simon the skill of continuous, uninterrupted firing when using a ******, which had proven very useful in Gao Yang’s various indoor battles with a ******.

Their friendship was deep, but even the deepest friendship could fade in the face of certain interests. Perhaps they would not turn against each other, but it’s likely there would be so resentnt. Morgan wanted to avoid this situation.

Morgan couldn’t lack a force of his own, and Simon was in charge of Morgan’s force. So Simon was more than just a bodyguard to Morgan, although his public identity was just that.

The key point was, putting aside Simon’s importance, Morgan had to account for Simon’s loyalty after following him for more than a decade.

"Simon, I owe you a lot, and it’s ti for you to consider your future," Morgan said with so sadness to Simon. After a mont of silence, he added softly, "You should make plans for your future. After I’m gone, you can choose the life you want."

Simon, slightly bewildered, said, "I thought you would want to continue helping Gao or protecting Bob. What should I do? I don’t know, retire?"

Morgan replied seriously, "If you want to start a company or make a na for yourself in another industry, now is the ti to start."

Simon glanced at Gao Yang and then Morgan, and softly said, "I never thought about these things, never. Boss, I don’t want to consider these things now; you’re not dead yet. Besides, you’re not going to die so easily, it’s just lymphoma, don’t think it’s so serious."

Morgan laughed heartily and said, "Alright, you still have ti. Think carefully about what you really want. Rember, whatever it is, I will support you."

Morgan appeared to be in a good mood. He waved his hand at the two and said, "Alright, since I’m not going to die soon, it’s not too late to talk about this now. Both of you should carefully consider your future."

Morgan didn’t tell Simon to assist Gao Yang. If he had said that, Simon would surely agree, but Morgan didn’t want to do that. He wanted Simon to choose his own path for the future.

He didn’t hand the force over to Gao Yang because it was Morgan’s last card and foundation.

Now Morgan was paving the way for Gao Yang, gradually transferring so assets and power to him. The mont Morgan had Simon hand over his powers to Gao Yang, it would mark the complete transition.

After ntioning so light-hearted topics and chatting for a while, Morgan looked at his watch and smiled at Gao Yang: "You need to change into formal attire to greet the guests. You can’t dress too casually."

Gao Yang said a little embarrassedly, "I didn’t bring any formal wear. Um, I didn’t know there would be a cocktail party."

Morgan smiled and said, "No worries, I’ve prepared sothing for you. It might not fit perfectly, but it will do. Alright, go change, I should go prepare too."

Gao Yang was taken to the guest room where a suit he needed was in the wardrobe. Since it was a cocktail party, he didn’t need to be too formally dressed. A suit would suffice.

As darkness fell, the cocktail party began. There was not much to say about the party itself. However, it was worth ntioning that Gao Yang stood next to Morgan to greet guests at the entrance.

Logically, if it was just a family gathering, Bob should have stood in Gao Yang’s place. But this was a cocktail party among political allies, so Gao Yang standing beside Morgan sent a very strong signal: his status was very important, extrely important.

All the guests tonight were public figures, so there were no particularly luxurious cars or glamorous beauties. Ordinary cars parked at the entrance, but significant figures erged from them.

"Mr. Hughes, delighted to see you. Let introduce you to my assistant, Gao, Gao, this is Mr. Hughes, a senator, you’ll et often in the future," Morgan said.

Everything was implied. When Morgan casually yet warmly introduced Gao Yang to the guests, he was telling them that Gao Yang was very close and important to him.

Under a series of amazed or enthusiastic gazes, Gao Yang shook hands with each guest, then escorted them to the main hall.

Morgan’s actions were too obvious; the guests, while not losing their composure, were extrely interested in Gao Yang all at once, wishing to say a few more words to him and hoping he would reveal more information.

Amid repeated brief exchanges, Gao Yang had to repeatedly apologize before returning to the entrance to wait with Morgan for the next guest.

Finally, when the last guest on the list arrived, who was also the most important one, Morgan and Gao Yang returned to the main hall. From the tray held by the attendant, Morgan picked up a cocktail, raised it high, and loudly said, "Ladies and gentlen, welco to my humble abode."

With a gesture of goodwill, Morgan took a sip of his cocktail and laughed, "You all know Gao already. Perhaps so of you are still unfamiliar with him, so let formally introduce him. He will be handling so matters on my behalf. If in the future he represents in handling affairs, do not be surprised. This is his duty."

Morgan’s words shocked the entire room, rendering it montarily silent.

Gao Yang slightly bowed with a smile and said, "Please take care of . I hope you all have a pleasant evening. Thank you."

Morgan’s words were extrely clear. Those who reacted quickly had already raised their glasses to Gao Yang, while those slower to understand remained stunned, as they couldn’t imdiately accept it.

Next, it was ti for Morgan to individually talk with each important guest while those less important only needed to know that Gao Yang would be representing Morgan in the future. As for why, they didn’t need to know and weren’t qualified to know.

The number of people at the cocktail party wasn’t large, but their status was high. In Morgan’s circle, Gao Yang’s position was now confird and publicly acknowledged.

Like a stone dropped into a pond rapidly causing ripples, the events that transpired at the cocktail party would quickly spread after it ended.
