Richmond is the capital of Virginia. The city isn’t big, though the tropolitan area is vast. The central area is small, but the suburbs are huge. Driving along the highway, roadside houses are scattered everywhere, which are technically part of Richmond, yet driving to the city center takes over two hours.
If a good shooter’s house is in the suburbs, it has to be because the further from downtown, the more space they have for shooting.

Phoenix is the sa. Her ho is far out in the Richmond suburbs, making it hard to find. But behind her house is a large open area with a small lake, perfect for shooting practice.
After checking the house numbers and features, Number Thirteen stopped the car and said in a deep voice, “This is it.”
Gao Yang took a deep breath, got out of the car, and looked at a rundown house, overgrown lawn, and junk by the door, wondering, “This doesn’t look like a lived-in house, let alone a woman’s ho.”
Number Thirteen said solemnly, “The cleaner’s info can’t be wrong.”
Number Thirteen went forward and rang the doorbell.
After ringing the doorbell several tis, a woman inside shouted, “I’m coming!”
With that, a woman with a ponytail, a tank top, shorts, and an army cap opened the door.
She glanced at Number Thirteen, then the others standing behind him, and at the car parked at her door. She imdiately whispered, “Who are you?”
Number Thirteen didn’t speak, so Gao Yang stepped forward with a smile, “Are you Marie?”
“Yes.”
“You’re a sniper.”
“Yes.”
“We’re rcenaries.”
“Oh.”
“We want you to join us.”
“Okay.”
“You don’t want to know who we are?”
“No.”
“Do you have any salary requirents? Feel free to say.”
“Whatever.”
Every ti Gao Yang asked a question, Phoenix answered with just one word, crisp and clear, with no hesitation, never a second word.
Dealing with soone like this can be quite frustrating.
Gao Yang spread his hands helplessly, “You should at least introduce yourself.”
“Marie Phoenix, Undying Bird, sniper.”

Marie glanced around with her eyes, then said, “No job I won’t take.”
Gao Yang shrugged, feeling helpless, and said loudly, “You have enough space here, let’s test you. Show us what you’ve got.”
“Okay.”
Phoenix slamd the door shut, leaving Gao Yang and the others standing there, exchanging glances.
Little Donnie swallowed and softly said, “Very concise.”
Number Thirteen nodded, “I like concise talkers.”
After a mont, Phoenix opened the door again, smiling but still concise, “Can’t clean, it is what it is. Co in.”
Once inside, they understood why Phoenix said it couldn’t be cleaned. The place was a ss, with drink bottles, trash bags, and fast food boxes everywhere.
However, Gao Yang noticed one detail: there was no leftover food, not a trace of it.
