Saying goodbye to Yarebin, Gao Yang and his two companions went to where the rcenaries lived.
Most of these people had been recruited a long ti ago, mainly from the rcenary group led by Li Qiu, and then there were those who had fought alongside Satan in Syria. In reality, Little Donnie had only recruited about a dozen people.
The recruits weren’t technically Satan’s people, nor were they part of Solar System Company’s staff, as Gao Yang didn’t want Solar System Company’s na to appear here. The na "Solar System" was reserved for dealings with Saudi Arabia in the future.
Li Qiu had been fighting with his dozens of rcenaries for many years. Although he hadn’t amassed a fortune, he managed to keep the rcenary group going, which wasn’t easy. Recently, Li Qiu and his n had fought several battles for the Skull Gang, losing just one man and lightly injuring two. But now that Gao Yang had arrived, he’d forced Li Qiu to eliminate two of his own n.
Gao Yang felt that this put Li Qiu in a difficult position, but he had no choice. Sympathizing with Li Qiu or upholding his and Ludwig’s authority and rules, Gao Yang chose the latter.
Ludwig mingled with so people he’d t in Syria. Gao Yang walked directly into the crowd without the usual greetings, speaking with so concern, "Can Loach’s n still be used?"
"Hard to say."
Ludwig shook his head with a serious expression, then whispered, "If they don’t protect their own, are they still rcenaries? Li Qiu had no choice. If he didn’t hand over those two, we would have had to kill them ourselves, leading to direct conflict. Li Qiu’s no fool; they don’t stand a chance if a conflict breaks out here."
After speaking, Ludwig approached Gao Yang and whispered, "You need to think this through. After Li Qiu hands over those n, if he decides to leave, will you let him take his team, or..."
Ludwig made a downward pressing motion with his hand, implying that failure to comply would lead to elimination.
Satan’s secrets couldn’t be leaked, and the sa went for Ludwig’s group. They all feared turning against each other, so it was better to strike first.
Clown, despite his youth, was a battle-hardened veteran and was on good terms with Li Qiu. He comnted worriedly, "It shouldn’t co to that. But, Li Qiu has been with his n for a while and hasn’t co out yet."
Gao Yang waved his hand and said, "Where are they? I’ll go take a look."
Clown pointed to a relatively large house. Gao Yang walked over leisurely, accompanied by Li Jinfang and Glolov.
"You two made a mistake; I can’t protect you. The outco is that you both must bear the consequences. You’ve had your al; it’s ti for you to go. Do you want to help, or will you do it yourselves?"
Hearing Li Qiu’s voice coming from the house, Gao Yang stopped in his tracks.
It was very quiet inside. After a while, soone protested angrily, "It’s just a woman. We’ve done so much here, and now we can’t even cash out for that?"
Li Qiu coldly replied, "Nobody cares what they’ve done or whom they hurt. They’ll die because they broke the rules. Compared to what we stand to lose, our bosses and Big Mister would rather maintain the rules. So, either we grab our guns and fight our way out, or they must die. As the leader, I don’t want to lead you all to your deaths. But if you decide to grab your guns and fight, I’ll gladly accompany you."
"We’ll fight our way out!"
"Yeah, we’ll die together if we must!"
Amidst the noise, soone with a hoarse voice said, "Enough. My fault; I’ll take responsibility. I can’t kill myself, Captain, you do it."
A gunshot rang out, and the room fell silent. Soon after, soone said shakily, "I can’t do it myself, Captain. Please, just do it quickly."
Another gunshot followed.
Gao Yang waved his hand, speaking quietly, "No need to look, let’s head back."
As the three walked in silence, Li Jinfang sighed and asked softly, "Brother Yang, what would we do if one of our guys made a mistake and it ca to this?"
Gao Yang replied without hesitation, "I don’t care what rules they’ve broken. No one touches my people, period. We’ll die together or live together. There’s no way I’d shoot one of you. Yes, I’m strict with others and lenient with myself."
Glolov couldn’t help but laugh, "That’s the epito of double standards."
After making a very shaless declaration, Gao Yang laughed, "But I never worry about such things happening. That bunch led by Li Qiu can’t compare to us."
Li Jinfang nodded repeatedly, "That’s right, our guys would never break the rules you’ve set."
Gao Yang lowered his voice, "Run over and bring Maide here. He needs to see the bodies as proof."
Li Jinfang imdiately left, and after Gao Yang and Glolov returned to Ludwig and the others, Ludwig said gravely, "The shots were fired, they’re done for?"
Gao Yang nodded, "Yes, it’s done. Gather our people, let them see the consequences of not following the rules."
Soon, Li Qiu walked over alone, followed by a group of black n carrying two bodies. After placing the bodies on the ground, Ludwig approached, checked them, then nodded to Gao Yang, "That’s right."
Gao Yang looked at the group behind Li Qiu, their faces filled with grief and anger. Then he turned to Li Qiu, "Have you decided? Are you taking them away, or staying? If you leave, I’ll see you off. As long as your people know what not to say, I won’t make things difficult. If you stay, you’re welco, as long as you don’t break the rules again."
Li Qiu’s lips moved a few tis, and after looking at his people, he sighed deeply, "I’m tired of being cannon fodder. Getting paid well here is secondary, but at least we won’t be used as cannon fodder. We’ll receive elite treatnt, so I’d like to stay. I assure you, I will calm them down, ensuring no further issues arise from today’s events. I can promise you that."
Gao Yang nodded, "That’s fine. As long as you understand, Loach, we go way back, you know who I am. Today’s incident ends here, we’ll move on. I only say this: if your people break the rules again, I’ll co to you."
Li Qiu nodded, "I know my limits. If sothing happens again, no need for you to act; I’ll deal with it myself."
