Now reading: Chapter 228 - 228 Two Hundred and Twenty-Six 1vs7 from Mercenary’s War, a Action novel by Just Like Water.

228: Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Six: 1vs7 228: Chapter Two Hundred and Twenty-Six: 1vs7 Gao Yang’s sequence of killing and snatching the gun was smooth and succinct.

Although slitting a throat doesn’t guarantee an enemy’s loss of fighting capacity, Gao Yang had no ti to deliver a fatal blow to the person collapsing in front of him, clutching his neck, because another person had appeared at the doorway.

The newly arrived black man was petrified.

He stared at Gao Yang without making a sound, just standing there with his mouth agape.

Gao Yang imdiately turned around.

His knife was too short, the blade only ten centiters long, whereas the training he received in Israel emphasized that a blade needed to be approximately twenty-two centiters to ensure a lethal strike.

Of course, a shorter blade could still kill an enemy, but ensuring a deadly blow on the first hit was much harder.

In a flash, Gao Yang didn’t have ti to look for a place to strike that would instantly incapacitate his opponent.

He kicked out almost instinctively, an ingrained response from his close combat training.

As he knocked his enemy down toward him, Gao Yang’s short knife in his left hand stabbed out effortlessly.

The dagger penetrated through the mouth of the man lunging toward Gao Yang, reaching the brainstem and thus achieving an instantaneous kill.

Leaving the knife in his enemy’s mouth, Gao Yang didn’t attempt to pull it out because he now had a handgun.

He recognized at a glance that the gun in his hand was Frey’s Glock 17.

The Glock 17 doesn’t have an external safety and features a double-action firing mode; Gao Yang only needed to pull the trigger to fire, assuming, of course, that a round was already chambered.

But Gao Yang didn’t know if Frey’s handgun had a round chambered, so he still pulled back the slide to ensure a round was in the chamber.

After pulling the slide, a bullet flew out of the ejection port, informing Gao Yang that the gun had indeed been loaded.

He had wasted a round, but it was inconsequential.

The Glock 17, unlike the M1911, had a seventeen-round capacity, so wasting a bullet didn’t matter much.

As Gao Yang chambered the handgun, he had already turned to the outside of the door.

There were three black n who hadn’t yet grasped what had happened.

As they stared in astonishnt at Gao Yang, one of them quickly raised an AKMS with a folding stock.

But before he could fire, Gao Yang ignored the two closer n and unleashed bullets at the most imdiate threat with the utmost speed.

Gao Yang was accustod to the stopping power of the 11.43mm caliber rounds.

He fired twice and, feeling confident there was no further threat, swung the gun toward another black man who was drawing an AK47 from behind his back.

But Gao Yang only managed a single shot before he had to turn the gun back on the man with the AKMS who had already been hit twice.

Gao Yang fired two shots at the chest, but the man holding the AKMS didn’t fall.

Instead, he staggered back two steps and raised the gun again.

Gao Yang was forced to redirect the gun and fired two more shots.

One bullet hit right between the man’s eyebrows, finally bringing him down.

One down, but the black man hit by Gao Yang’s bullet had managed to grab his AK47, and the other two had also drawn their handguns.

Gao Yang, with both hands on his pistol, shot the man with the AK47 while one of the others fired, but his bullet only hit the wooden cabin wall beside Gao Yang, missing him.

The man with the handgun managed only one shot before losing any further opportunity to fire.

After Gao Yang dealt with the man holding the AK47, he finally aid at him and discharged three rounds, two of which hit the forehead, instantly killing him.

The closest one to Gao Yang was less than two ters away, within arm’s reach, yet he was the only one who had not been killed.

The sole remaining black man held a walkie-talkie in one hand and a pistol in the other, but his reaction was much slower than the others, and it seed he was petrified.

He hadn’t even chambered a round even after Gao Yang had disposed of his three companions.

Just as the man with the handgun aid at Gao Yang, Gao Yang instantly recognized it as his own gun.

Seizing the barrel of the gun pointed at him, he pushed it to the side forcefully.

Following up with a swift kick to the man’s stomach.

The black man hadn’t managed to fire before being kicked to the ground by Gao Yang.

Holding on fiercely to his now-recovered pistol, Gao Yang wasn’t about to let go.

He didn’t shoot the fallen black man in the head but instead bellowed, “Drop the gun!”

Without Gao Yang needing to speak, the black man let go of the handgun.

When Gao Yang snatched his pistol back, the walkie-talkie also dropped onto the deck.

Having finally retrieved his own pistol, Gao Yang felt an imnse surge of relief, as if taking a soothing pill, finally feeling secure with his weapon.

Holding the lightweight Glock 17 had made him feel like he was unard.

Gao Yang slipped the Glock 17 into his waistband, took his 1911 in his right hand, and did not shoot the surviving pirate in the head.

If his guess was correct, this man was the only one on the ship who could speak English, and keeping him alive could be valuable.

There couldn’t only be a few people on this pirate ship.

Gao Yang had no ti to deal with the captured survivor.

Using the butt of his handgun, he struck a heavy blow to the back of the black man’s head, lying on the ground.

The black man imdiately stopped moving; if he was lucky, he might just be unconscious for a long ti, but if not, it was possible that Gao Yang’s blow had killed him.

However, Gao Yang couldn’t afford to check if he had hit the pirate too hard and potentially killed him.

He quickly bent down to pick up another handgun and then ran forward.

Gao Yang picked up another SIG P226 without engaging the safety.

He tucked the P226 into his waistband on the left side, and then he picked up an AK47 from the ground.

But Gao Yang didn’t plan to use the AK47 imdiately.

He slung it over his shoulder, feeling that it was too long for the confined spaces inside the ship.

Ard with his own pistol, Gao Yang was very confident.

He didn’t care how many people there were on the ship anymore.

After sprinting a few steps forward, Gao Yang saw a black man with a panicked expression running towards him, brandishing an AK rifle.

They were only seven or eight ters apart.

Gao Yang was better prepared and ready to open fire at any mont, so when they suddenly encountered each other, Gao Yang shot first.

The first bullet struck the black man’s chest.

Although it did not kill him imdiately, as the man fell backward, he shot the bullets into the ceiling.

Then Gao Yang fired two more shots to confirm the black man was dead.

Gao Yang waited a mont and no more pirates appeared.

The gunfight had been going on for a while; if there were still pirates on the ship, they couldn’t have failed to hear it.

Since no more pirates showed up, Gao Yang believed there were only seven people on the ship.

However, he didn’t let his guard down and carefully searched the place but found no one else.

To Gao Yang’s surprise, he found his EBR and Cui Bo’s TAC-50 on the ship.

However, he didn’t see the others’ guns, such as Li Jinfang’s HK416 and Glolov’s M60.

Since there was only one unconscious pirate left on the ship, Gao Yang didn’t rush to look for the other’s weapons and combat gear.

He found several plastic buckets filled with fresh water.

After gulping down the water, he discarded the AK47 he was carrying and slung his own EBR back on, then carried two buckets of water back to the cell where they had been imprisoned.

Gao Yang first checked and saw all six mbers of his team, along with Antoncel and Fernando.

Most importantly, they seed to be unhard, just unconscious.

Only then did Gao Yang start to feel frightened, or more accurately, it was a sense of relief at their narrow escape.

It was such a close call.

If Gao had woken up half an hour later, they all would have been thrown into the ocean in their sleep.

It was chilling to think that after surviving so many storms, they could have died at the hands of a first mate.

If they had actually been fed to the sharks so senselessly, it would have been a death too vexing to rest in peace.

Glolov lay at the entrance.

Gao Yang poured water on the still unconscious Glolov, but there was no response.

Not giving up, he poured water on Cui Bo as well, yet the result was the sa; both n slept like logs.

However, at that mont, Gao Yang noticed that Bruce’s breathing seed heavier.

Hoping it might work, Gao Yang went over and poured a bucket of water over Bruce’s head.

The water had an imdiate effect on Bruce; he quickly opened his eyes and after a short while, under Gao Yang’s surprised and eager calls, Bruce’s groggy gaze finally began to clear.

“Where are we?”

“On a pirate ship, but there’s no danger now.

Aside from you and , I can’t wake the others up at all.

What’s going on?”

“Strong sedatives, and a large dose too.

I don’t know exactly which kind, but they won’t wake up anyti soon.

I’ve taken large quantities of sedatives for a long ti to combat drug addiction, so I’m familiar with these drugs and I’ve built up a tolerance.

Otherwise, there’s no way I could have woken up so fast.”

“And what about ?

What did you inject with?”

“A special antidote that counters the effects of anesthetics and sedatives, originally ant for patients after surgery to work better with anesthesia but is sowhat effective against sedatives, too.

It’s a new product designed to shorten the recovery ti for patients with minor injuries, as sotis even those with minor injuries need to return to battle.

So I brought it with , and looking at it now, it’s a good thing I did.”

Gao Yang let out a long sigh and said, “You know, it’s lucky you gave that shot.

Otherwise, we’d all be shark food in our sleep.

Now that soone’s finally awake, co and give a hand; we’ve got a lot of work to do.”

There was no ti for Bruce to recover slowly.

Gao Yang took Bruce by the hand and pulled him up from the ground.

Once Bruce was standing, he saw the two bodies lying at the door and couldn’t help but sigh, “God, it’s a good thing you woke up early.

Boss, while I’d hope to die in my sleep, that should be in my old age at ho.

Getting killed on a pirate ship and fed to the sharks certainly isn’t included.”
