890: Chapter 880 The Benefits of Being Famous 890: Chapter 880 The Benefits of Being Famous When Gao Yang woke up, he only felt a headache.
He cracked his eyes open and saw Yelena smiling at him, which made him press his hands against his head and groan in pain, “Where am I?”
Gao Yang began to recall what had happened.
He rembered that the party had ended in the early hours, but he didn’t know exactly when.
All he vaguely rembered was an image of himself with a bottle in hand, hugging Catherine while yelling and screaming.
Startled by the image he had conjured up, Gao Yang imdiately cried out in pain and then scratched his head, “I can’t rember anything.
How much did I even drink?”
Yelena leaned in close to Gao Yang, still with a cheeky smile, “Then you definitely don’t rember passionately kissing Adele, right?”
Gao Yang got the chills and then said with a look of disgust, “Don’t joke about that.
It’s not funny at all.”
Still smiling, Yelena said, “Then do you rember wrapping your arms around Catherine’s neck and telling her she’s very beautiful?”
Gao Yang waved his hand dismissively, “Not this again.
Stop joking with ; that’s simply impossible.”
Yelena leaned close to Gao Yang, wrapped her hand around his neck, and whispered in his ear, “Then do you rember singing on the stage with Eliza, and suddenly you two started kissing?
You told Eliza, ‘Eliza, you’re not ugly, nor are you a tomboy.
You’re a uniquely charming beauty.
I’m head over heels for you,’ and then you two were intensely kissing.
After the kiss ended, Eliza knocked you out with a punch.
Do you not rember that either?”
Gao Yang shot up imdiately, glaring at Yelena, and exclaid urgently, “Nonsense, that definitely did not happen!
I rember clearly; there was no such thing!”
Yelena gave a sly smile and said, “Yes, you rember correctly.
It was Bob who ran up to confess to Eliza, and it was Bob who kissed her.
But you said you don’t rember anything from last night.
So why can you recall what happened with Eliza but not with Catherine and Adele?”
Gao Yang broke out in a cold sweat, but he defended himself vehently, “I don’t rember what happened, but I know nothing happened.”
Yelena sat up, wrapped an arm around Gao Yang’s neck, and whispered in his ear, “Okay, I’ll assu you were too drunk to rember anything.
But let tell you, even though Catherine and Adele are my friends, don’t even think about cheating, or else, hmph!”
Gao Yang protested repeatedly, “What are you thinking?
My friendship with them is as pure as can be.
If I’m lying, let be hit by a bullet, um…”
Yelena’s lips silenced Gao Yang, and after a long while, they parted.
She then said quite angrily, “Don’t talk nonsense.
I’d rather you cheat than let you, let you…
anyway, you know what I an.
Don’t talk nonsense, and don’t make reckless promises.”
After being given a serious talking-to by Yelena, Gao Yang knew he was off the hook and again pressed his hand to his head, “My head hurts so much.
Oh, where is this place?”
Yelena said with a laugh, “A hotel, it’s very close to Little Donnie’s place.
Little Donnie had to use a lot of people to get you all here.
Oh, and Morgan and Simon have already left; he had other stuff to deal with, I guess he’s too embarrassed to see you guys because he went too crazy last night.
But Bob and Jack stayed.”
Gao Yang let out a sigh of relief, glanced at his watch, and said, “It looks like this party is going to cost Little Donnie a pretty penny.
Is everyone here?
I need to check on Li Jinfang; I’m worried he might have gotten into so trouble.”
Yelena chuckled lightly, “Don’t worry about him; Lee didn’t even co because he got drunk with a girl, and then Little Donnie left him at his place.”
Gao Yang’s eyes widened, “What?
Lee got that girl drunk?
No wait, Lee got drunk too?”
Yelena shrugged, “I don’t know, but I saw Lee talking and laughing with a girl, and then she collapsed on the ground.
When Lee went to help her, he also fell to the ground.
In the end, Little Donnie settled Lee at his house, saying he’s never seen anyone who could chat with the girl nad Eliza before.
Maybe Eliza will want to see Lee when she wakes up.”
Gao Yang forced a couple of chuckles and said, “That’s nice, very nice, uh-huh, not bad.”
After saying that, Gao Yang got out of bed, smiled, and said, “It’s two in the afternoon already, let’s get up and then go ho.”
Hearing Gao Yang talk about going ho, Yelena smiled sweetly and said, “Okay, let’s go ho.”
At that mont, Gao Yang suddenly rembered sothing and said, “You’re on sumr break now, aren’t you?
We haven’t gone on a trip yet.
How about we take a trip?
Where would you like to go?”
Yelena was very happy and said, “Anywhere is fine!”
Gao Yang thought for a mont and said, “Let’s go to Europe.
Europe is nice.
We can go to Vienna for a concert, see Paris, and we could also go to Scotland, to Jansen’s hotown in the United Kingdom.
Maybe we’ll even see the Loch Ness Monster.”
Yelena smiled and said, “Anywhere is fine with you around, but I really like the places you ntioned.”
Gao Yang affectionately patted Yelena’s head and was about to lean down for a kiss when the phone rang, much to his disappointnt.
After tapping lightly on Yelena’s forehead, he went over to the bedside to pick up the phone.
It was Little Donnie on the line.
As soon as Gao Yang answered the call, Little Donnie said anxiously, “Gao, are you up?
Mr.
Smith Tomler called , he hopes to et with us today.
Do you want to et him?”
Gao Yang was taken aback and asked, “Who is Smith Tomler?
Oh, I rember now.
What does he want with us?
Is there business?”
Little Donnie replied anxiously, “I don’t know.
He said he has sothing to discuss with us, and if we’re free this afternoon, we can go see him anyti.
I’m not sure what’s going on, but I think it’s probably business.”
Smith Tomler, the owner of Tomler Global Defense Consulting Company, the world’s largest rcenary broker, was an agent Morgan had introduced to Gao Yang.
Of course, Smith Tomler ultimately didn’t take a liking to the Satan rcenary Corps, so he offered conditions that Gao Yang couldn’t possibly accept.
It was at Smith Tomler’s company that Gao Yang and Little Donnie had t.
Hearing this na, which he had gradually begun to forget, Gao Yang couldn’t help but smile.
“Alright, let’s et him.
What ti do we leave?”
“Let’s go now.
I’ll co to pick you up.
Get ready, and I’ll call Mr.
Tomler first.”
Gao Yang hung up the phone and, with an apologetic look, said to Yelena, “Sorry, I have to step out.”
Yelena seed disappointed, but she still restrained her emotions and laughed lightly, “No problem, I’ll wait for you to co back.”
After Gao Yang freshened up, he didn’t wait long before Little Donnie picked him up in his car, and they headed straight for Smith Tomler’s office.
In the sweltering heat, Little Donnie was actually wearing a full suit and seed sowhat nervous.
Gao Yang, dressed in a T-shirt and shorts, sat in the passenger seat and couldn’t help but tease, “Little Donnie, you seem pretty tense.”
Little Donnie clenched the steering wheel tightly and sighed, “How could I not be nervous?
That’s Tomler, Smith Tomler, the world’s strongest rcenary broker.
You need to know, before I used to work thinking of him as a career goal.
God, I can’t believe Mr.
Tomler would personally call and even invite politely.”
Gao Yang smiled and didn’t say anything.
Little Donnie glanced at him and said, “It’s all thanks to you, all thanks to you guys, Gao.
You guys are now the world’s number one miniature rcenary Group.
Even Mr.
Tomler has to humble himself to call you.
I’m truly proud of you.”
Gao Yang replied with a smile, “It’s us.”
Little Donnie also smiled and said, “That’s right, it’s us.”
Smith Tomler’s office was located on the sixtieth floor of a skyscraper.
Now, Gao Yang knew that Tomler didn’t own the entire building, only the top floor, but to own the most expensive top floor in a luxury office building at the heart of New York still spoke volus of Tomler’s wealth.
rcenaries must keep a low profile, but a rcenary broker must maintain a high profile within certain circles.
Otherwise, how could they attract business?
So, while out of public view, it’s necessary for successful rcenary brokers to show enough financial power within industry circles, because the broker’s wealth cos from the rcenary Groups they handle.
The wealthier the broker, the stronger the rcenary Groups they work with.
Gao Yang and his team were always careful to stay concealed, while Little Donnie, upon getting money, would buy luxury cars and live in mansions; if not buying, then renting, but he made sure to acquire such possessions.
Little Donnie’s current car was a rented rcedes S600, and he lived in a wealthy community on Long Island, also renting the house, and he even had a driver.
If he wasn’t going with Gao Yang to et Tomler, his driver would be the one driving.
After parking the car at the base of Tomler’s building, Little Donnie tightened his tie and turned to Gao Yang, “Let’s go.
Whether there’s business or not, today is a big day for us because we’re now esteed enough for Tomler to treat us with courtesy.
That’s the power and status!”
Gao Yang was quite pleased too.
To say he was unmoved by praise or criticism would be pretending; after all, he wasn’t that enlightened yet.
Upon entering the lobby and approaching Tomler’s private elevator, a black man in a black suit bowed slightly and said, “Hello, this is a private elevator.
Do you have an appointnt?”
Clearing his throat, Little Donnie replied, “Yes, Mr.
Tomler invited us.
My na is Little Donnie.”
The black man bowed again, entered a code on the elevator’s keypad, and then made a welcoming gesture, smiling, “Mr.
Copfield, and this gentleman, please, Mr.
Tomler has been waiting for a long ti.”
Feeling a very different treatnt compared to his last visit, Gao Yang was touched and content as he stepped into the elevator.
Once the elevator doors closed, he took a deep breath and said, “Little Donnie, is this the benefit of fa?”
