“That won’t do, dead—the deceased is the hardest to decontaminate.

They disinfected the items, and then Gao Yang and Li Jinfang, clothed in their protective suits, stood still to be sprayed with what resembled the pesticide sprayers, undergoing the first step of decontamination.
At that mont, Gao Yang realized that what was being used to decontaminate them was indeed an agricultural sprayer.
After spraying down Gao Yang and Li Jinfang, it was Bruce’s turn to be washed.
During this step, Gao Yang and Li Jinfang turned their heads away; they couldn’t watch.
After a simple first step of decontamination, which didn’t entirely remove the toxicity but was enough to prevent any significant threat to nearby people, safely within range, Gao Yang and Li Jinfang lifted Bruce again and walked towards the vehicles of their rescuers.
Approaching them, Gao Yang noticed that among the vehicles they had brought was a fire truck.
A middle-aged man who looked unmistakably Arican waved at Gao Yang and said, “Hello, Mr.
Ram, my na is Manol Kich.
Whatever you need, just tell directly, and as long as we can do it, all will be taken care of for you.”
Not yet completely decontaminated, Gao Yang couldn’t shake hands or speak closely, so he could only shout, “Thank you.”
Manol Kich nodded and said, “Sorry for being late.

Gao Yang shook his head, and Li Jinfang also shook his head, saying, “We’ve been trained in how to protect against nuclear and chemical weapons, but not how to decontaminate after exposure.”
Mansour Kich spoke seriously, “I used to be a soldier, and I know what it feels like to lose a comrade.

Gao Yang nodded and said, “Okay, thank you, please, please be careful.”
Mansour Kich gestured, and two people in protective suits cut away all of Bruce’s clothes and began to clean him.

Mansour Kich nodded and waved his hand, after which they all moved to the other side of the convoy.
Gao Yang pressed the headset hanging from his ear and spoke in a deep voice, “You can co over now.”
Gao Yang and their three vehicles drove over, and everyone quietly gathered around Bruce.
Lucica, holding a carry bag with clothes and shoes inside, handed the bag to Eileen beside her, and then Lucica crouched down, reaching out to lift the white cloth covering Bruce.
Seeing Bruce’s face with a smile, Lucica covered her mouth with one hand while tears started to fall silently.
Glolov, who was behind her, wrapped his arms around Lucica and said softly, “Go rest on the side for a bit.
Eileen, help her leave.”
Gao Yang and Eileen went to help Lucica, but Lucica shook her head and said, “Bruce is naked, he wouldn’t like others to see him like this, he definitely wouldn’t.
I’ll do it myself.”
Gao Yang, afraid that Lucica would be overwheld by grief, said softly, “Let us do it.”
Lucica wiped her tears and said, “I should do it.

Mansour Kich pulled out a pack of cigarettes and started to distribute them to Gao Yang and the others.

Gao Yang said softly, “We used to know each other, now we are friends.”
Mansour Kich shrugged and said, “Polovich is actually a good boss, he just made a mistake.
