The middle-aged man in black, tapped his fingers rhythmically against the polished tabletop, while he contemplated. After a mont , his eyes flickered with a sudden, sharp intensity. "Elder Yuan," he instructed, his voice low and deliberate, "I need you to personally observe those children. Pay close attention to their movents, their habits, everything. More importantly, gauge the reaction of the Yang family to this incident. We must tread carefully, Elder Yuan. Do not, under any circumstances, alert the snake before the Yang family makes their move."

The old man hesitated, a flicker of uncertainty crossing his weathered features. "But Master," he ventured, his voice filled with polite inquiry, "Why such an intense focus on these children? They appear to have no direct connection to us. Even if they pique your curiosity, surely such personal observation is unnecessary?"

A soft, almost indistinguishable chuckle escaped the middle-aged man's lips. He gently rotated the delicate teacup in his hands, the fragrant steam swirling upwards. "Elder Yuan, tell . Did you manage to get a clear, unobstructed view of the young boy's movents earlier today?"

Elder Yuan, taken slightly aback by the directness of the question, shook his head slowly. "I must confess, Master, I did not." He elaborated, "The boy's counterattack was so swift, so unexpected. We were not prepared for such a rapid response. Consequently, neither the precise movents nor the sheer speed of his strikes were discernible. In the blink of an eye, all I saw wa sthat he had seized Young Master Yang's hand and delivered a devastating kick to his chin."

The middle-aged man nodded thoughtfully, a hint of intrigue in his eyes. "Indeed," he mused, his voice filled with contemplation. "Among the nurous families within this city, I can think of no young teenager, particularly one of approximately ten years of age, who would possess such remarkable courage and such formidable speed. Furthermore," he continued, his tone deepening, "the young teenager's true strength remains completely obscured. It is evident that he possesses a remarkable ability to conceal his power. Tell , Elder Yuan, what kind of secret technique would be required to effectively mask one's strength, even from seasoned observers such as ourselves?"

Upon hearing these words, Elder Yuan's heart stirred. His gaze, previously lowered, lifted to et the man. "Master," he asked, his voice now had a newfound understanding, "What are you implying?"

"These children," the middle-aged man explained, "exude an undeniable air of nobility. Yet, they are conspicuously lacking in robust, visible protection. They have chosen to rent a modest courtyard, living a secluded and unassuming existence. I strongly suspect that they are fugitives, fleeing from so unknown peril, and that they are carrying with them precious, hidden treasures." With a penetrating stare, he continued on "Do you now comprehend my aning, Elder Yuan?"

Elder Yuan's heart skipped a beat, a sense of urgency washing over him. He lowered his head quickly, acknowledging the implications. "I understand, Master."

"Go, then," the middle-aged man commanded, his voice now calm and authoritative. "If you successfully manage this delicate situation, you will be rewarded handsoly."

"Yes, Master," Elder Yuan replied, bowing respectfully. He turned and exited the attic, closing the door behind him. As he walked away, he looked up, his eyes reflecting a complex mix of emotions.

At his advanced age, the allure of material wealth had diminished significantly, particularly if it required him to undertake actions that could potentially harm innocent children.

However, he was acutely aware that failure to comply would simply result in the task being assigned to another.

With a heavy sigh, he turned and walked away, resigned to his duty.

anwhile, across the street, within the confines of the Yang family compound, Patriarch Yang listened attentively to the information provided by his subordinates. His brow furrowed, his expression stern. "Only three children and their bodyguards are renting that courtyard?" he questioned, his voice laced with skepticism. "Have you thoroughly investigated? Are you absolutely certain you cannot ascertain their origins?"

"Patriarch," the subordinate replied, his voice apologetic, "we have exhausted all available avenues, but we have been unable to determine their place of origin. However, I did overhear a conversation between one of the Lin family bodyguards and a close associate, in which they discussed these three children."

"Oh?" Patriarch Yang asked with piqued interest. "And what did they say?"

The subordinate continued, his voice quick and eager to please. "My associate, a guard within the Lin family, ntioned that these three children are under the protection of a powerful individual. The Lin family, it seems, learned this lesson through a rather unpleasant experience. Ultimately, Patriarch Lin was forced to suppress the incident, even sending gifts to their door as an apology. However, they were unable to gain entry to the courtyard."

"Is that truly the case?" Patriarch Yang asked, his surprise evident. "This requires further investigation. Tell everything you know."

"The bodyguard only ntioned these few details, and the rest of his subordinates are unaware of anything further," the subordinate admitted, his head bowed in deference.
