As soon as the Grand Elder spoke, the two venerable masters, who knew about the promise to protect the children, exchanged glances, their eyes flickering.
After learning the children’s identities, they reported to the Sect Master and followed him to the courtyard. Though guarding the outer courtyard, they had overheard the conversation.

Hearing this, the Old Mountain Demon narrowed his sinister eyes, a sneer appeared oh his face as he scanned them contemptuously. His voice slowed. “Fine. I don’t want to be your enemy either. As long as you hand them over, I won’t attack your sect.”
The Grand Elder gritted his teeth. “Fine! Old Mountain Demon, wait here. I’ll bring them out.” He turned to two venerable masters. “Co with .”
The venerable masters paused, nodded, and followed him.
As they watched them go, the others carried the Sect Master aside.
Old Mountain Demon glanced at the feigning unconscious Sect Master, a mocking smile curling his lips. He waited leisurely.

Hao’er and the others were unaware of the commotion outside, but Seventeen, who had been gathering news, knew. He rushed back to the courtyard when he learned they were to be handed over.
“Master, it’s bad! The sect is going to hand us over to Old Mountain Demon. They’re coming! What do we do?” Despite being an adult, he asked Hao’er for guidance.
Hao’er, who was in the midst of guiding Muchen and Muyue, asked, “The Sect Master and Elders agreed?” He knew they must have, or they wouldn’t agree to hand them over.
“The Sect Master was injured and fainted, but I think he’s faking it. He’s no match for Old Mountain Demon, and neither are the Elders. They negotiated and agreed that if we’re handed over, he’ll leave. The Elders are coming with the Grand Elder,” Seventeen said anxiously.
Even the Sect Master and Elders couldn’t defeat the Old Mountain Demon. Only Silver Wolf stood a chance. But they were outnumbered, and Silver Wolf couldn’t protect everyone.
“Let’s go! We’ll take the back mountain path!”
Hao’er said decisively, turning to Muchen and Muyue. “Muchen, Yue’er, get on Silver Wolf’s back! He’ll be faster!”
