Feng Jiu's eyebrows lifted slightly upon hearing this, and she gave him a thoughtful look. Without further comnt, she gestured invitingly and said, "You must be tired from escorting them all this way. Please, co to my house and rest for a while."
The Ghost Faced Masked Man nodded. "That's agreeable. I also wish to discuss Yue'er's apprenticeship with you." He then stepped forward.
"Mother, he is Seventeen, the escort the Pan family gave us," Yue'er whispered, wrapping her arms around Feng Jiu's neck. "Mother, this masked man is very strange. He keeps telling to call him Master, but he saved Yue'er from the bad guys, so he must be a good person. Also, Mother, there was an Uncle Murong who brought us back, but he left after dropping us off at the city gate."
"Uncle Murong?" Feng Jiu was montarily surprised. After a mont's thought, she asked, "Is that Murong Yixuan?" Her brother had ntioned two people bringing back the children: one masked, the other clad in ethereal white.
However, the last ti she saw Murong Yixuan, he was travel-worn and not wearing white. She had puzzled over the identities of those two people.
Seeing the masked man today, whose strength was unfathomable, and knowing that the other person was Murong Yixuan, who had already departed, clarified the situation.
"It's Uncle Murong," Hao'er confird, looking at her. "I don't think he wanted to enter the city. He stood at the gate, gazing into the city, and then said he had to leave. He left shortly before Mother arrived."
Feng Jiu nodded. "I understand. I will thank him personally when I see him again."
"Mother, where is Father? Why didn't he co?" Yue'er asked, looking around.
Feng Jiu smiled softly at her daughter. "Your father is in seclusion. He's not here."
With Yue'er in her arms, followed by Hao'er and Muchen, Feng Jiu entered Feng Manor. She first directed soone to show the masked man to his room, then took the children to the backyard.
"Little Feng, who is that masked man? He seems very strange," Feng Sanyuan said, a hint of unease in his voice. He had noticed the man's unwavering gaze on Yue'er, as if he feared they would take her away.
Feng Jiu smiled. "He saved the children. I'm not sure of his identity, but he claims to be Yue'er's master and wishes to take her as his disciple."
"Yue'er is too young for a master. Besides, who could teach her better than you?" Feng Xiao frowned, troubled by the man's unknown origins.
"We'll discuss that later," Feng Jiu said, looking at the children in the courtyard. She scanned them with her spiritual awareness and noted that the blood curse remained in Muchen and Muyue, but had vanished from Hao'er. This revelation stirred her heart.
"Hao'er, tell Mother everything that happened."
