Chapter 4649: Coming to the door

Old Patriarch Pan respectfully welcod Feng Jiu and the others into the hall. Displaying their deference, they did not dare to take seats before her, but instead invited Feng Jiu to occupy the seat of honor, positioning themselves on either side.

In contrast to the Pan family’s cautious and sowhat nervous deanor, the children of the Pan family, particularly Boqing, exuded excitent. They eagerly crowded around Muchen and Yue’er, animatedly recounting how Boqing had begun learning martial arts and was already showing great progress.

Feng Jiu glanced at the children with a gentle smile, then turned her attention to the Old Patriarch of the Pan family. “My na is Feng Jiu,” she began, her voice calm and clear. “I am the mother of these three children. So ti ago, due to unforeseen circumstances, my children were separated from and found themselves in the mortal world. I have only recently been reunited with them. Upon learning of the care and kindness your family has shown them, I ca here to express my sincere gratitude.”

“Not at all, not at all,” the Old Patriarch responded quickly and repeatedly, his tone earnest. “It is our Pan family who owes your Young Masters and Young Miss a profound debt of gratitude. We dare not accept your thanks.”

Feng Jiu offered a polite smile and remained silent for a mont. Her gaze shifted to Pan Ning, then moved to Pan Hong, whom she appraised thoughtfully. Finally, her attention settled on his legs. “Muchen inford that you extended them a significant kindness. When the eldest young master was ambushed and poisoned, you saved his life with a dicinal pill, but you were unable to heal his legs. I have co here this ti to assess the condition of his legs.”

“Thank you, Madam,” the Old Patriarch said, standing up sowhat excitedly and bowing respectfully.

They engaged in casual conversation in the hall for a while. anwhile, outside, the city was abuzz with news. Even the Emperor within the Imperial Palace received reports from his secret guards that immortals had arrived at the Pan family. He had been in the midst of summoning his ministers for a eting, but he promptly dismissed them. Among those present was Pan Ning’s father.

“Minister Pan, remain where you are,” the emperor called out as he rose from his seat.

Pan’s father was taken aback and hurriedly turned around, bowing with both hands. “What further command does Your Majesty have?” he asked, puzzled. He had been wondering why their discussion had been abruptly interrupted, but the Emperor’s intentions were often inscrutable, so he didn’t dwell on it. He had been thinking that it was getting late and he should return ho for dinner, only to be summoned back by the Emperor’s voice.

“Hahaha, Minister Pan! Wait a mont; I will change into my casual attire and accompany you,” the emperor said with a smile, his eyes filled with amusent. He didn’t even allow Pan’s father ti to respond, and after issuing a quick instruction to his attendants, he hurried back into the palace to change his clothes.

Pan’s father stood there in a daze, wondering why the Emperor wished to visit their humble abode once more. What was his purpose this ti? Could sothing untoward have occurred at ho? A sense of unease settled upon him as he waited, each mont feeling drawn out. Finally, when he saw the Emperor erge in plain clothes, followed by several guards, he quickly stepped forward and inquired, “Your Majesty, why do you wish to go to this old servant’s house? Is anything amiss?”

“Hahahea let’s go! You will find out when we arrive,” the Emperor replied cryptically, offering a smile as he strode outside.

Helpless, Pan’s father could only follow swiftly.

anwhile, at the Pan residence, preparations for the evening banquet were underway. The children, who rarely had the opportunity to see each other, all headed to the martial arts training ground to play. Feng Jiu seized this quiet mont to thoroughly examine Pan Hong’s legs.

“It is not a significant problem. We will begin treatnt tomorrow, and he will be able to stand within half a month,” Feng Jiu stated with a reassuring smile, observing their expressions of surprise and disbelief.

“Half a month, and he will be able to stand?” Old Patriarch Pan stamred, his voice filled with astonishnt. Nurous physicians and even Imperial Physicians in the city had declared that Hong’er’s legs were beyond repair and that he would never walk again in his lifeti.
