Listening to the children’s words, Feng Jiu felt a pang of bitterness in her heart. She looked at them and smiled faintly, saying, “You must listen to your mother. Whatever your mother does is for your own good.”
The three children listened, exchanged glances, and then fell silent.
“Alright, I’ll take you to Grandfather. You must keep him company. Your mother will go back and refine dicinal pills for you.” She took the children by the hand and walked towards the main hall. As for Luo Yu, Qin Xin, and the others, he had instructed them to manage affairs at their respective bases, and therefore, they did not accompany him on this trip.
“Master, Luo Yu and the others are diligently handling all other matters. There are no significant incidents occurring anywhere at the mont. You can rest assured that everything is proceeding as usual,” Du Fan stated as he carefully poured Feng Jiu a cup of freshly brewed tea.
Feng Jiu had just finished refining a large batch of dicinal pills, and the faint scent of various herbs clung to her clothes. She appeared slightly weary, so she gratefully took a sip of the warm tea before responding, “With them diligently watching over things, I am naturally at ease. We have been here for almost a month, and I am planning to take the three children out to experience the outside world for the remainder of our stay. You should return and rest for now. Pack your belongings and prepare for our departure tomorrow.”
“Yes, Master,” Du Fan replied respectfully, bowing slightly before taking his leave.
“Master, I have prepared your bath water. Would you like to bathe first?” Leng Shuang inquired softly as she approached.
“Mm,” Feng Jiu replied, standing up and gently rubbing her shoulders to ease the lingering tension. “Where did the children go to play?”
“They are currently practicing martial arts with Leng Hua at the training ground,” Leng Shuang inford her.
Hearing this, Feng Jiu nodded in understanding and went to take a bath, eager to wash away her fatigue and find so much-needed relaxation.
At the martial arts training ground, Muchen and Muyue were engaged in a spirited competition. They focused on unard combat, and on several occasions, Muchen effortlessly managed to throw Yue’er to the ground.
However, the surface of the martial arts training ground was not hard stone, but rather covered with a thick layer of fine sand, ensuring that falls were more of an inconvenience than a source of injury. Despite this, the little girl found herself repeatedly landing in the sand, and her youthful temper began to simr.
“I refuse to believe that I can’t knock my brother down!” Yue’er declared with determination, her gaze fixed on her brother who stood firmly in a stable horse stance. A mischievous glint flashed by her eyes, and revealed a sly smile. In the next instant, she charged forward, and instead of swinging her small fists in attack, she used her entire small body to ram into him with surprising force.
Muchen was caught off guard when he saw his younger sister charging towards him with her head lowered like a tiny calf. He quickly reached out to block her small head, but the determined little girl used all her might and actually managed to knock him off balance and onto the soft sand.
“Hahahaha, brother fell down too!” Yue’er exclaid gleefully. Instead of getting up, she lay on top of Muchen, waving her arms triumphantly and shouting with unrestrained joy.
Not far away, Hao’er, who was undergoing his own training with Leng Hua, heard the commotion and turned to observe. He saw his younger brother and sister playfully wrestling in the sand. A rare, gentle smile touched his usually serious face at the sight.
However, just at that mont, his expression abruptly changed. The fine sand on the ground suddenly began to swirl rapidly, coalescing and taking the nacing form of a sand creature that lunged directly towards the unsuspecting Muchen and Muyue.
