Chapter 4667: Vortex
Two days later, the airship glided through the sky. There was a tranquil atmosphere, where they were either deeply engrossed in cultivation or peacefully resting.
However, this serene scene was abruptly disrupted as the weather above took a turn for the worse, darkening ominously. Initially, a fierce wind howled, causing the airship to sway gently. This was soon followed by a fine rain that descended from the heavens like a shower of needles.
“Why did it suddenly rain?” Du Fan exclaid, his eyes snapping open as he registered the unexpected change in the sky. Startled by the sight of the needle-like rain, he quickly rose to his feet.
A protective barrier of spiritual energy enveloped the airship, effectively shielding it from the elents. Nevertheless, Du Fan made his way to the bow, his gaze fixed on the unusual weather patterns, keenly observing for any potential anomalies.
“What’s wrong? Is sothing amiss?” Leng Hua inquired, approaching Du Fan, his eyes also fixed on the now-rainy sky. Noticing the increasingly dark conditions, he voiced his concern: “Should we consider finding a place to land for the ti being?”
“Isn’t Master currently refining dicinal pills within the spatial dinsion? He’s likely unable to leave at the mont,” Du Fan replied, his attention still directed towards the increasingly oppressive atmosphere of the sky.
“If Master is unable to exit the spatial dinsion, then we must take control of the airship and initiate a landing ourselves. It would be prudent to halt our journey temporarily. Look, the wind is intensifying, and the rain is becoming heavier. The airship will inevitably beco unstable and begin to shake during flight,” Leng Hua asserted, convinced of the necessity to find a safe place to anchor.
Upon hearing this, Du Fan nodded in agreent. “Alright, let ascertain our current location.” With these words, he moved to the side of the airship and peered down at the swirling clouds below, extending his divine sense to probe the terrain beneath.
“Du Fan! Quickly! Maneuver the airship downwards and land!” Leng Hua’s voice suddenly held a sharp note of alarm, causing Du Fan, who was focused on his downward probe, to snap his attention back.
“What is it?”
Du Fan turned to see a noticeable shift in Leng Hua’s expression. Following his gaze, Du Fan’s eyes widened in disbelief. Approximately ten ters ahead of their airship, a massive swirling vortex had materialized in the sky. The vortex was enormous and utterly black, emitting a loud whooshing sound that cut through the wind and rain, as if possessing a powerful suction force that was actively drawing their airship towards it. Even the airship, which had been moving at a leisurely pace, suddenly lurched forward with alarming speed.
“No! Quick, call our Master!”
Du Fan cried out, urgently instructing Leng Hua to contact their Master. Simultaneously, he swiftly mobilized his spiritual energy in a desperate attempt to regain control of the airship, initiating a sharp turn while simultaneously attempting a rapid descent.
However, they had severely underestimated the sheer power of the vortex. Despite Du Fan’s frantic efforts to steer the airship downwards, the suction generated by the swirling mass remained terrifyingly potent, as if invisible hands within the vortex were relentlessly pulling them inward. The airship beca completely unmanageable, hurtling uncontrollably towards the dark abyss.
Furthermore, the relentless suction caused the airship to tilt precariously to one side. Even the three children who were diligently cultivating in a nearby cabin were jolted by the violent movent and instinctively rushed out to ascertain the cause of the disturbance.
“Get back inside! Do not co out!” Leng Shuang commanded firmly, physically pushing them back into the cabin, fearing for their safety amidst the unfolding crisis.
Consequently, the three children were forced back into the cabin by Leng Shuang after barely stepping out. The violent swaying of the airship caused them to lose their balance and fall to the floor.
“Master! Master!”
Leng Hua anxiously pounded on Feng Jiu’s cabin door, his worried gaze darting back towards the rapidly approaching vortex. However, just as he felt the latch of his master’s door begin to turn, he witnessed the entire airship being violently engulfed by the dark, swirling vortex…
