Chapter 4804: Request
The three of them approached the plush couch beneath the verdant canopy of the tree, their gazes fixed upon their master, who appeared to be sleeping soundly. A shared, silent understanding passed between them, their eyes eting in a mont as they exchanged glances.
“Big Brother, it seems Master is asleep,” Yue’er whispered, her voice barely audible, a soft, hushed tone that mirrored the tranquility of the scene. Hao’er, observing their master with a thoughtful expression, echoed her sentint, his voice equally subdued. “Then we shall wait for Master to wake up,” he murmured, a hint of respect and patience in his words.
Upon hearing this, Muchen’s eyes, fixed on their master, glead with a fleeting, knowing light. He harbored a suspicion, a quiet inkling that perhaps their master’s slumber wasn’t as profound as it seed. There was a distinct possibility, he mused, that their arrival had not gone unnoticed, and that the perceived sleep was rely a polite pretense. Yet, Yue’er, ever practical, simply nodded in agreent. “Alright, let’s wait here for Master to wake up,” she affird, settling into a patient stillness.
It felt inherently improper, almost disrespectful, to rouse their master from what appeared to be a restful sleep. Even if the nascent thought of feigned slumber flickered in their minds, the etiquette of the situation dictated that they refrain from any disturbance. Their only recourse was to remain obediently and patiently nearby. Thus, the three of them did not depart, but instead positioned themselves by the soft couch, a silent vigil comncing as they waited. As the minutes stretched into what felt like an eternity, and their master showed no discernible signs of stirring, a subtle stir of anxiety began to ripple through them.
Yue’er, her beautiful eyes suddenly sparkling with a mischievous glint, a tiny, fox-like smile playing on her lips, subtly nudged her two brothers. Leaning in, she lowered her voice conspiratorially. “Big Brother, have you noticed how good Master looks, even when he’s sleeping?” Her question, though seemingly innocuous, carried an undercurrent of playful intent.
Hao’er and Muchen instantly grasped the unspoken aning behind her words, a shared understanding blossoming between the siblings. A fleeting smile touched their own lips, vanishing almost as quickly as it appeared, before Hao’er, fixing an intense gaze upon their master, responded in a low voice. “Indeed, Master is remarkably handso. As Mother often says, he is a truly handso man.”
“While I firmly believe Father is the most handso man in the entire world, Master is undeniably very handso too, perhaps just a fraction less handso than Father,” Muchen declared with a solemn air, his eyes ticulously studying their master’s face.
“Hehe, our Father is absolutely the most handso man, but Master is also incredibly handso! Just look at Master’s eyebrows – aren’t they just like those sword-shaped eyebrows described in our books? And his eyes, even though they’re closed now, when he opens them, they sparkle like stars. His nose is perfectly straight and tall, so handso. And his mouth! It’s also very handso, with those slightly upturned corners. Mother said that’s called a lotus mouth, and anyone with a lotus mouth is handso, no matter if they’re a boy or a girl. And then there’s his chin, and the elegant shape of his face…” Yue’er chattered on, her voice filled with an enthusiastic admiration.
The three children, their six eyes fixated with unwavering intensity, scrutinized the Azure Emperor from head to toe, their whispered comntaries filling the air. Even the Azure Emperor, renowned for his extraordinary patience, found himself struggling under the relentless, burning gazes and the continuous stream of observations from the three little ones.
Finally, unable to bear it any longer, he slowly opened his eyes. His gaze briefly swept over Hao’er and Muchen before settling, with a hint of amusent, on the incessantly chattering Yue’er. His voice, deep and resonant with a touch of charming laziness, broke the silence.
“Are you quite finished?”
Yue’er, mid-sentence, automatically snapped her mouth shut the mont his eyes opened. Hearing his question, she offered an innocent, pure smile, her eyes twinkling, and in a soft, sweet voice, she asked, “Master, are you awake?”
Seeing his lack of imdiate response, a touch of playful guilt colored Yue’er’s expression. With a delightful smile and a hint of flattery, she added, “We were just waiting for you to wake up! We saw you sleeping and couldn’t help but think how incredibly handso you looked!”
“Really?” the Azure Emperor inquired slowly, a subtle arch to his brow.
“Yes, Master! You are the most handso man in the world, right after my father!” Yue’er declared, her flattery reaching its peak.
