Chapter 4846: Dispute

Song Mi’er stood up, a smile gracing her lips as she looked at the fluffy creature. “It’s been a few days since we’ve had anything exciting to do. Let’s go out and buy so food! When we get back, I’ll cook you a delicious al. How about it?”

Cloud Devouring glanced at her. It was undeniably true that she was an excellent cook. It had savored her culinary creations just two days prior, and they had indeed been exceptionally delicious. So, it straightened itself, jumped down from the chair, and dutifully followed her.

“I didn’t expect that! You’re also a glutton, no wonder you’re so fat,” Song Mi’er teased, letting out a laugh. She couldn’t resist the urge to reach out and playfully touch Cloud Devouring’s soft, plump fur once more.

Cloud Devouring, in response, cast a disdainful look at her and deftly dodged her hand.

Song Mi’er didn’t mind in the slightest. She opened the door, and with Cloud Devouring trailing behind, headed straight for the bustling market. Unlike many other young won who preferred Browse jewelry stores or shops selling pretty clothes and knick-knacks, Song Mi’er found her joy wandering through the market, ticulously seeking out all sorts of kitchen knives.

“Fresh lingzhi mushrooms, fresh lingzhi mushrooms! Hey, madam, take a look at these lingzhi mushrooms. They were just picked and are still very fresh!” A man’s voice bood from within an alleyway, calling out to passersby.

A young woman and a small beast ambled through the market. Song Mi’er was scanning her surroundings when her ears caught the man’s shouts about selling lingzhi mushrooms. She casually glanced over and saw several mats laid out on the ground in the alley, with piles of the mushrooms resting on them. Her eyes lit up.

“Are these freshly picked?” She squatted down, picked one up, examined it closely, and then brought it to her nose to inhale its scent, a happy smile spreading across her face. “They still have the sll of soil!”

The vendor, seeing a potential custor, quickly offered a wide smile. “Miss, buy so lingzhi mushrooms to make soup and cook with! They are all incredibly fresh, just picked, and taste absolutely delicious! And the price is quite reasonable, I assure you.”

“How much are they?” Song Mi’er inquired.

“Ten gold coins per catty,” the man stated, looking at her expectantly. “If you buy a lot, I’ll even give you a discount. How about that?”

Hearing the price, Song Mi’er couldn’t help but widen her eyes, staring at him in surprise. “Ten gold coins per catty?”

Seeing her expression, the man misinterpreted her surprise as concern over the price and quickly interjected. “Miss, these mushrooms are very fresh and quite different from ordinary mushrooms. They are also very hard to find. How about this? If you still think it’s too expensive, I’ll give them to you for eight gold coins per catty. Buy a catty to try, and if you like them, you can always co back for more.”

“Whoa, that’s fantastic! Wrap them all up, I’ll take them all!” Her eyes sparkled with delight, and she waved her hand excitedly, staring brightly at the pile of lingzhi mushrooms the man was selling. These were, in fact, incredibly precious lingzhi mushrooms. She rembered the dishes her father had prepared with them back ho, and they were truly exquisite. However, they were exceptionally rare and difficult to co by, and very few people recognized their true value, often mistaking them for common fungi.

Hearing her declaration, the man’s face lit up with joy. “Oh, oh!” he quickly agreed. “I just have ten and a half catties left, so I’ll give you all ten catties.”

Song Mi’er swiftly produced the money, handing him two hundred gold coins. “Big Brother, please keep this money safe,” she said. “By the way, where did you pick these mushrooms?”

The man was taken aback by her generosity and paused for a mont before replying. “I picked them in Huashan Mountain, where there’s a dense forest of mixed Huashan pine and oak trees.”

“Thank you, Big Brother,” Song Mi’er said with a bright smile. She was about to reach for the mushrooms when a voice abruptly cut in.

“I want that!”
